Update for the 2x r9 290x setup :
I had to reduce the intensity as the system hanged after a few hours.
I tried with -I 20 and ncreased the TC to but than it hanged again after 7-8 hours.

Now i run -I 19 to look for stability but the hashrate has dropped to 437 per card. This is the current config :

Code:
-I 19 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 27000,27000 --gpu-engine 1000,1000 --gpu-memclock 1400,1400 --auto-fan -g 1 --lookup-gap 2,2 --gpu-threads 1
I will continue testing today. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hello,
I have Ubuntu 13.10 64 bits, and vertminer 0.5.4pre... downloaded from https://github.com/Bufius/vertminer-gpu‎...
Mobo SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 , processor am3+, ram 16Go ddr3....
I have 4x7970 saphire radeon, and they pull 2500 kh/s with cgminer --scrypt (DOGE, Litecoin...)

Now with vertminer, I have 100% HW beyond I 12...
I can only pull 750 kh/s, that's 190kh/s per 7970, it is ridiculous....

My best setting is : ./vertminer --nscrypt -o stratum -u username -p pwd -I 12 --thread-concurrency 4096 --shaders 2048 -w 256

May I have to test the cgminer modified mod https://github.com/Bufius/cgminer, is it better?

I have the same problem with 0.5.3. If I use TC over 4096, it will create a 4032 bin file, instead of 8192.

intensity 20 with no HW errors??  Huh

Yes, it was hashing like crazy but not stable enough, froze after about 7-8 hours.
Now down to I 19, a bit smaller hashrate but so fur 6 hours stable.

i think you need to lower tc or use -g2.
high -I and tc needs also alot of ddr3 ram (8gb+)
also if i change the mining coin from blake or max, sometimes i need a restart!
vert and scrypt mining is very hard for gpu

hi

I have MSI 280x Gaming and I had a wierd experience. I did not build it together my rig, so 4 cards are working separately now. 1-1-2 in three desktop. Now, I tried couple of settings which I found here. On the first machine finally I found the good one, I'm getting around 320-330 kh/s. I moved to the other machine and I received this (this is the 2 card desktop, but the other one with 1 card is doing the same, really low kh/s with the same settings with works with the first desktop)

http://gitane.dyndns.org/~azmo/vert_2_280x.jpg

And this is the config :

export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
.\vertminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.vertcoin.org:8080 -u xxx.xxx -p xxx -v 1 -I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8193 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-threads 1 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20 --auto-fan --temp-overheat 90

Also, I'm not sure about the conf file, how it is working really because I have a bat file which using that config up here. But the conf file containing some different stuff. I'm confused a little bit Sad Any ideas, suggestions?

thanks guys

p.s. the first machine which working with the nice kh/s working with 6 Gb memory, the others are only with 4 Gb. Is this could be an issue?

The MSI R9 270x G2 is listed here http://www.verters.com/vertcoin-hardware-list to get 400 KH/s
They are using this config:
--gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1210 --auto-fan --temp-target 80,75 --temp-overheat 90 --temp-cutoff 95 --gpu-powertune -20 --worksize 256 -I 16 --lookup-gap 0

Can anyone confirm this? Anyone got this card to try it?
Thanks

I'm mining with a Sapphire r9 290x and a Powercolor Radeon HD 7850. Getting 500Kh/s from the r9 and about 100 Kh/s from the 7850. Here are the settings for each:

Sapphire R9 290x
"auto-fan" : true,
"gpu-fan" : "40-100",
"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"temp-overheat" : "95",
"temp-target" : "88",
"intensity" : "20",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "512",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "24550",
"shaders" : "0",
"gpu-engine" : "1000-1000",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "0,20"

Finally!! Finally confi;g, that works on my 290, gives me 430-470khs and only 2% of stale.
Most surprising for me is that auto-fan: true/false on my water cooled rig makes big difference

I can't seem to get my asus 280x 6card system stable on vertminer. All 3 of my rigs run Bamt 1.3. This is my only 6card configuration
This config achieves 375kh/s but only lasts for ~10mins then system freezes. I've tried default voltage for all six cards. Same outcome. Power is not the issue 1200w+850w for this system
Vertminer 0.5.3
Code:
"auto-fan" : true,
"gpu-fan" : "15-75",
"intensity" : "13",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"api-port" : "4028",
"expiry" : "30",
"gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
"gpu-platform" : "0",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"gpu-engine" : "1050,1050,1050,1050,1050,1050",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"gpu-vddc" : "1.2",
"temp-target" : "75",
"scrypt-vert" : true,
"log" : "5",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"queue" : "0",
"scan-time" : "15",
"failover-only" : true,
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"
}
Updated app sdk to 2.9 and upped coreclock to 1100 pumps out 393kh/s but crashes same as before. My other 2 systems run 3 gigabyte 280x's and have no problem running 8191,8192,8193 TC with 1500mem. One 3card has 2GB's ram and the other has 4GB's ram. Both are very old dual core systems.

6card rig is brand new hardware 8GB's 6core. I've tried newer catalyst drivers, same outcome +lower hashrate. Also tried vertminer 0.5.2 and 0.5.4pre2 = lower hashrate+crash. Next on my list is to try 64bit xbuntu.
I'm pulling my hair out getting to the bottom of this one. I can drop the memory down to 1250Mhz but the wu is under 300 per card unacceptable. For now I'm stuck mining doge or whatever for the 6cards. Any ideas from anyone? Anybody with 6card rigs having issues with vertminer?

Edit: Turns out gpu0 was the culprit. Lowered gpu0's memclock to 1250 and 360kh. WU:330
I kept getting too many hw errors and the occasional dead gpu so the other 5 cards are running 1375 memclock and achieve 372kh. WU:340

I still get a few hw errors but it's only 1 or 2 gpus and is well below 1%

Thank you papagalka666, I just assumed these cards would all be around the same settings in relation to each other with vertccoin. That's how they are with regular scrypt

I believe, your problem is the video driver. I had a simillar trouble and I reinstalled the driver many times untill it stopped to freeze.
Another issue could be one of your video cards. Try the following : Start the miner with 1 videocard ( cgminer -d0 -c your.config.file) and wait to see if 1-st vGPU is ok. Repeat the procedure for the rest of your GPU's ( cgminer -d1 etc.) If all of them work stable launched as single GPU, try the following : cgminer -d0 -c your.conf and turn on from chminer control menu ( press letter "G", enable them one by one, like waiting few minutes to see how stable is your system after the next enabled GPU)
wish you good luck discovering the problem

I have two Sapphire R9 270X OC DUAL-X but soon to be five once I get my frame, I am using some settings off this forum and I am hashing at about 450kh/s but I am not getting any accepts just thousands of rejects.

Here are my settings.

del scrypt*.bin
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.kilovolt.co.uk:3333 -u user -p pass -g 1 -w 256 -I 19 --thread-concurrency 15353 --gpu-fan auto --temp-target 80 --temp-overheat 90 --temp-cutoff 95 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1131 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20 --no-submit-stale

If anyone could point me in the right direction to get accepts again that would be great.

Thanks,
Jord

You need to install the proper miner Wink
)  GPU mine using CGminer modified for Vertcoin support (currently fastest method):
   1.  Windows Version http://vertcoin.org/downloads/vertminer-0.5.3.zip
   2.  Source code for both Windows and Linux https://github.com/Bufius/vertminer-gpu

Thanks

Tried, one card failed to start, the other sputtered along at like 14kh/s or something silly.  Those settings make absolutely no sense and the hashrate is either a load, or they meant 400 hashes per second, lol.

I can't get above 218 kH/s with my 270s, and I've done a lot of research and experimenting and the best I've heard anyone hit is about 220.
