Here is yet another nail in the coffin of the failing Poloniex exchange, get out while you can and move to a better exchange; Binance & Kucoin are a couple that come to mind.

According to users on Poloniex’s unofficial subreddit, the exchange has not been crediting user account balances when orders are cancelled.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/poloniex-displaying-incorrect-customer-balances-experiences-customer-service-woes

they made two tweets:

Quote
We're investigating reports of canceled orders not crediting back to account balances.

Quote
Some balances are off and will be corrected. Forced liquidations are turned off temporarily.

my guess is they are not going to force people to send in docs if they do they will just go offline or bought by the real stock market people if this didn't happen already... stop and think about it.  Cool

#1.  Poloniex still hasn't verified my personal account after 6 months.

#2.  Poloniex won't respond to multiple ticket requests over the last quarter trying to get verified.

#3.  Poloniex won't verify my account, and won't allow me to remove my tokens from Poloniex in one bulk transfer.

#4.  Horrible horrible horrible customer service.  24 days and counting since my last support ticket request and no response.

Why the fuck are people still trading on this shitstain of an exchange? The only reason it has any volume is because Monero guys did a Darknet market exit scam with Oasis to convince public it was being adopted by darknet and Poloniex was main XMR exchange. It seems they funneled everyone into a honeypot.

Those circumstances aside, I know traders who've had withdrawals processing for 1 year, 1 fucking year! If you deposit BTC or Altcoins  to Poloniex you will never see them again.

At this point the only recourse for everyone here with similar issues is to contact a legal firm and start the process of legal action. Polo is the new Mt Gox. Bittrex soon to follow.

Poloniex is kinda shady right now since their proposition and counter action is so delay and I don't know on why their still people really trying to step their foot here while there so many unhassle exchange where we can choose aside from it. And I will not surprised for poloniex to became the next MT.gox since they're acting strange lately and maybe this one is a sign for their future exit.

One trader I talked to said he was still trading there because he could only withdraw his bitcoins at a very slow drip feed rate. He's been waiting four months to get his withdrawal limit raised and has been withdrawing his maximum allowed amount each day.

A lot of other traders are probably only trading there because they can't withdraw their profits. The withdrawal limits are in dollars, so when bitcoin mooned traders suddenly found they needed higher limits, but found support non-responsive.

Just read the notice on Poloniex. I must say it's much better than Bittrex, they won't even block users from withdrawing their funds, while Bittrex won't even update the fact that you're not allowed to withdraw, or even the reasons why you can't withdraw, and from what I've been reading and experiencing, they won't even email you back when you email them about not being able to withdraw (keep in mind that at first you have no idea what's going on). It sucks that I will have to send them my ID in order to get all my money out and use another exchange. And I rather not use Bittrex again simply because the way in which they are handling this just feels very, very shady, that it really does not make me trust what they would do with users information. Look at how Poloniex actually gives you a warning, versus complete secrecy by Bittrex.

They have and they are blocking withdrawals. In fact the very same people that made polo what it is today are the ones getting screwed by it right now as we speak. waiting months to remove what you have invested for years is a tough pill to swallow especially while you are watching your return evaporating.

Anyone using polo for anything but penny trading of shitcoins is screwing themselfs over and has no one to blame but themselfs when they get boned. the warnings are all over this board and the interwebs at large.

Whats up with bitshares wallet? Anybody know what the fuck is going on? Its been for a week now. Yeah polo is bum exchange but where are the alternatives? Fucking openledger has only 27 btc volume. U can argue that theres decent yuan IOU/BTS volume but thats useless for me since I will have to use fiat gateway to withdraw yuan and Ive no plans on doing that.

Started with trading at poloniex early 2017 and this was the exchange I was using for day trading, so far the only problem I did face in that period is a few days delayed deposit of SC SiaCoin after requesting for support I never received any message back. The reason why I did keep using Poloniex is a bigger volume compared with other exchanges and the lovely UI. Since I did see that verification will be mandatory in Q1 2018 and I don't expect that Poloniex will handle fast all verifications I thought that it was better to transfer all mine funds out. Prefer to wait from the sideline with an empty account if mine account will get verified, without that I have to wait for weeks/months for a reply or big chance that you guys never will answer.

Once Poloniex had the most volume but that period is over, lot of people lost their trust in this exchange mostly because of the terrible non existing support.

I've been trading on Poloniex since April 2014, and have never had a problem.  No complaints.

you allow them to dox you?   Roll Eyes  hmmm

If you want to play with the big dogs AND avoid tax complications, you and they have to play by U.S. Bank Rules.

RUN don't walk away from here ~ people like you = spineless and money hungry are killing bitcoins' fundamental value :\ fuck off.

Well, junior, maybe YOU are in the wrong game.  Maybe you should go play with the criminals who use bitcoin for crime.  I, as well as most others, trade to make profit, and advance BTC as a currency, as it was designed for.

As for your insult, it just shows your extreme lack of maturity when dealing with adults.

EXCLUSIVE: Circle set to acquire Poloniex

https://modernconsensus.com/2018/02/02/circle-set-acquire-poloniex/

Modern Consensus has learned that Circle, the venture-rich mobile pay startup that competes with Venmo and makes sending money almost effortless, is deep in discussions to acquire Poloniex, the American cryptocurrency exchange that made its name by listing scores of altcoins on a platform that resembles a professional trading station. At press time, Modern Consensus was unable to confirm the terms of the deal.

According to one highly placed source with knowledge of the discussions, “Circle and Poloniex agreed to terms and Circle has already approached the regulators. The regulators came back with a list of KYC demands [Know Your Customer] and Circle has agreed to meet all the conditions.”

Poloniex is known to already feature some very stringent KYC requirements its customers must meet. For example, after initially allowing several accounts to be opened by a single user, the company now permits only one account per verified user. It sets limits on daily withdrawals similar to those found at other exchanges. It has also been plagued by the same customer support and verification backlogs that are bedeviling its rivals, often taking weeks to bump users up to the next level of verification status.

Poloniex did not respond to a request for comment on the pending transaction; Circle replied to multiple requests with only a form letter. This story will be updated with further comment if either responds.

At first blush, the matchup is at least somewhat surprising. Circle, which got its start as a quick and safe way to turn bitcoin into U.S.dollars, has been known for its mono focus on BTC. That’s the opposite of Poloniex, which lists a mind-boggling 68 different tokens. Where the Circle interface is all about customer ease of use, Poloniex looks much more like a Bloomberg Terminal, and features complex innovations like margin trading and lending, which aren’t offered by more beginner-friendly sites like Coinbase.............
