Does nobody remember setgenerate true -1 from the console? Note: The 'setgenerate true' and 'setgenerate true -1' implement the high speed CPU fan test by using all cores at 100%. If you feel confident in your cooling system go for it. If not, 'setgenerate true 1' uses only one core(2=2 cores, etc). You can try this with the debug console in your wallet. 'getininginfo' will tell you how many cores you are mining with and your hashrate. I think just the getwork protocol was removed. You might be able to use stratum or GBT methods to mine to your wallet if you want to use an external miner. I haven't tried this with Dash, so not 100% sure. But then you are much better off mining to a P2Pool node or pool that shows you stats and more consistent payouts. I wouldn't expect more than one block per month even with a high end CPU solo mining.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Wow, DASH is awesome.
is solo mining for DASH working?
Thanks
Yes indeed, it is awesome, and about to be even more so after the Miami Bitcoin Conference when Dash's next-generation Evolution technology will be detailed. Yes, solo mining for Dash is working, feel free to join in! No it's not. Getwork was removed from the wallet, and I talked to Evan about porting GBT to the miners and he didn't want to. OK sir, if anyone would know it's you! I've edited my post. Thanks for the info!

OK sir, if anyone would know it's you! I've edited my post. Thanks for the info! Solo mining via wallet does work with setgenerate. Just fired it up. Using an external miner (cgminer or bfgminer) where you connect via RPC with user/password via getwork won't work. If GBT doesn't work then, stratum should work. If not, there has to be a special pool version of the wallet that can be downloaded on github.

who the hell mines this coin right now? unless your electricity/resources is free, and wasting time/effort/energy/money is your game. i tried to mine this coin in summer 2014 but I'm already late. you should've mine in the first few hours (1.8 M emitted) and before the total supply was reduced from 84M to 18.9M, the emission was greatly reduced too....I'm a miner and I know WOW!!!! All this FPGA discussion is way above my head! I remember mining dash with several desktop computers and a few laptops using CPU...before there was a graphics miner available. then I went out in a limb and rent 24 VPN from Microsoft to mine with too. Actually did ok for about a week....then everyone jumped on board and the difficulty went through the roof! I toasted 3 dells on that...got them all warrantied though lol . Haven't done any mining since....is CPU even doable? the greedy lying bastards got it all my friends.. that's the other purpose of masternodes to POS the coin.....so long suckers Does Dash ever have the plans to add proof of stake?
Masternode is POS... Which stands for Proof of ServiceProof of SCAM

Any mining updates with Dash (or x11 in general), are we still mostly on AMD cards or Maxwell cards, any news of FPGAs?
FPGA is still doable, and still not happening unless you've money to invest. I'm working on designs for FPGA, but it's kind of a side project for now. What would be the best hashing algorithm if the objective was to enable easy to produce and affordable ASICs or FPGAs that would still be profitable or at least break-even for regular consumers? Or is that even possible as large ASIC mines would take over anyway if the ASIC was easy to manufacture? Large ASIC miners would just make TONS of the chips - economies of scale: shit gets cheaper when you make more of it. But what if the chip where the algorithm itself is is very simple and cheap to design and produce and the shit it requires and depends mostly on is already available and being manufactured the most efficient way possible, like memory? Wouldn't that mean that the cost $/hash would remain constant no matter how much you buy it?

Ah so that's where all the shenanigans on DASH is going on. Check out the crack smoking bots trying to drive Dash down lol, https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_dash]https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_dash I cant really be ass so i was just playing with the bots and pick some up cheap but if you dont mind working there's arbitrage to be found.. Hes really easy to get angry and responds to the smallest buy with a angry sell lol

Just wanted to take a moment out to congratulate the team on the stability of the latest release of Dash. My masternodes have been running like clockwork since the latest update on 28th September 2015. Not missed a beat. No restarts. No crashes. 100% up time. This is exceptional considering this is alpha software Most solid release yet here too. Not a hiccup since launch. ...correction. Other than these notifications coming flying onto my destop periodically:

Interesting article about VISA testing remittances using the live Bitcoin blockchain. It hints that they are also exploring other cryptocurrencies. http://www.coindesk.com/visa-europe-remittances-bitcoin-blockchain/I wonder if they could benefit from a blockchain with instant transactions (InstantX) Going forward, the Budgeting System will likely prove very beneficial to fx. funding a DASH Biz Dev team, that can seek out and nurture opportunities like this.
