Still, if this wave of interest really does get people starting to use it as an alternative to Bitcoin, while there's no scaling there, it could easily keep going up. I think that will be the test of whether this rise sticks or there is a big crash.

When BTC will get low kick in price balls they will act like man, sadly they will lose market to ETH DASH NEM and few others.
Price matter and they will make solutions fast when price will fall don't worry.

A coin doesn't just magically double in price with a few days, someone's manipulating something. I had those dash to sell because I do believe in this coin, it is the payment processor comepition Bitcoin turned away from. (Not that it was bad for Bitcoin) I rather just double my holdings then just hold right now.

Or some really wealthy people want to take very large stakes.

Yeah, they wouldn't do it all at once and pay more, they would over a while build up.

Sure but with what supply? There's little incentive for a masternode operator to sell (~10% interest)
I see them (buyers) waiting in steps so that some MNOs get their funds to the exchange and they're bought from the ask and when that level doesn't atract more MNOs or some short gives up the price jumps... no sells, no lending available (in volume) this just seems like big players wanting a stake and supply just isn't available at those price levels. But I could be wrong of course

If i have a wallet.dat made with electrum, i don't make any transactions, i bought some a few months ago and i just want to keep it cold storage.Do i have to update to 12.1 or it doesn't matter as long as i have the private keys?

I'm a new DASH user
I saw the presentation by amanda at anarchapulco and it really was looking nice!
Instant transactions, private transactions, a return on your savings. Also the vault seems a cool system to protect my money.

I have some questions:

1) Will it be safe to use my account on a lot of devices as long as my money is in the vault ?

2) I bought 380 DASH. It's a lot of money for me, but I don't want to miss this opportunity !!
I bought at 34 USD, so I already have a nice profit
It's still on poloniex, but can someone tell me how to get the savings account?


I hope I'm not too late to the party and dash will continue to go up

It has been disabled. DASH wallet has been updated on the website! You should take all DASH off exchanges. As it increases in value, more risk to hackers. You should get a masternode as soon as you get the wallet set up! Sooner the better. I think this time next year a Node will cost over 100k USD!

Same situation here.The address already exists in the blockchain, so i suppose that as long as you have the private keys to the your address (or more) it doesn't matter what kind of wallet you have.I'm pretty sure you have to import the private keys in debug command window importprivkey or something like that :/

I'm really glad to see that the law firm we've employed to research our compliance with US law is nearing completion.  Quoting Daniel:

Consider it like a paper wallet.As long as you have the private key to the address you should be safe

This is the Github link for the Dash-Electrum, if anyone else has dash  electrum wallets, i think this can be used to extract the private keys from the address where you have your coins .Good luck!!!

Guys are working hard on getting stable version out. Windows version is expected to be out in next 24h.

Meanwhile you can export private keys from electrum-dash into csv file and import them one by one into Dash Core via "importprivkey" command (you don't have to import every single key btw, just import the ones which are holding some funds).

Also, the Dash Electrum doesn't seem to be synced anymore, any address that you have funds, but it doesn't show the balance, just check it on the blockchain explorer
