Hi, I just found out about this project, what was the ICO price?

$0. Just the price of whatever mining equipment people were using at the time. There was no ICO, it was announced and people started mining it.

Wow, I'm honestly amazed at how Monero is holding on to it's market cap after such a damning academic paper.  I also hear that they have "instant payments" but there is no locking, nothing behind it, just a change in the wallet I guess, where it says "paid" when the merchant's wallet receives the propagated message. No locks, no protection against double spending. Which is funny since an anemic, unpaid network will be too slow to compete with Dash anyway, LOL.  

Seriously though.  I'm the most shocked at how Dash can remain #4 or 5 in this ecosystem all these years when we've been the best currency since, at LEAST the end of 2014.  Dash did it right, there is no doubt.  There is no substitution for hard work and pure unadulterated brilliance.  It just shows how incompetent crypto "investors" are.  They're not investors, just gamblers.  And that's why you can't judge the coins in this space by "market cap". 

Sure, anyone can clone Dash, but they won't have the brilliant software developers, business developers, marketers, legal minds that Dash has.  Though I hope someone will because Dash needs competition to keep it from becoming lackadaisical.  I just don't see any competition for digital currency at the moment (looking, looking, looking) nope.  Not a one.

Even though it's a minor release I would still encourage all MNOs to update 

Also, I noticed that we have ~180 MNs in NEW_START_REQUIRED state which means they are not paid. Not sure why they were not (re)started...
Pls check your MNs and if you notice that it went down for no reason or you have troubles starting your MN - pls report.

Is it too much to hope for that Apple allows Dash back on Jaxx? How can they justify allowing Zcash and not Dash? Maybe one the VCs behind Zcash lobbied Tim Cook?

There is no way to audit Zcash. It is entirely possible some person or agency can secretly generate an arbitrary number of coins. It is entirely possible some person or agency will soon discover a way to secretly generate an arbitrary number of coins.

If I had to guess... considering the use of the words "airdropped" and "long-awaited" I would think that the news is that Dash has been approved by Apple.

I could have sworn I saw this question earlier, and that it was answered (better than I will answer because I don't have time to look up links)  But anyway, Dash didn't have an ICO, it was announced and launched with mining.  Anyone there could mine at that time. No pre-mine either.  The blocks were found faster than they should have been, but by the time it was discovered, people had already bought coins.  At that point, you can't just kill the project and start over, real funds were exchanging hands.  Even so, Evan asked the community if they wanted to start over, and the community resoundingly said no.

BCT deleted a LOL post of mine in reply yesterday. (It was just that, three letters, "LOL", and it was deleted, as off topic . . . something that replied appropriately to a ludicrous post by a core dash hypester . . . go figure.)

That bid lasted about 2 seconds. It was erroneous data. Good catch by qwizzie though, although I would have expected he had better things to do than stay glued to the Polo order book.

I first thought it to be a thrown up defence wall but then it quickly started to move upward in a clear
intend to accumulate Dash. It is the main reason why the price has moved up some 7% over the last 24 hrs.
Sellers dumped into that 14.4K as well, or it would have been a much higher rise.
