DASH PASSES $1 BILLION MARKET CAP


Dash has surged in price, momentarily passing a $1 billion market cap.

Beginning the day at around $97 per coin, Dash experienced a price spike growing to a price of $146 and a market cap of over $1 billion over the next six hours. Since then the price has experienced minor corrections, but remains close to $1 billion in total for the coin. This increase is reminiscent of the February-March surge from about $16 to about $117 over the course of about six weeks.

It's unbelievable how some projects (including DASH) made such a huge growth just in few years. I wonder what will be the future in next 2-3 years :O

bigR - I think you just mis-understood iCEBREAKER's post there. He's referring to the Dash thread and is expressing his concern that trolling activities are approaching a Bus Factor of 1.

I'd say this is a legtimate concern. Not being reminded of market depth imbalances to the downside, imminent arrests of project staff, the blue-sky hopium popium nature of "Evolousham vapourware", or how we are violating HYIP regs could lead to complacency and taking eyes off the ball.

I suggest a proposal on Dashwhale to fund an ancillary for iCEBREAKER to take the pressure off. They'd of course need training which would take a while but there's no shortage of material. (In fact maybe Dash core could spare a body. Having now a bus factor of about 20 they wouldn't notice ).

Two years ago I suggested that DASH would likely hit $1000 per coin at some point in the future. Nobody really ever said anything one way or the other on my prediction, which leads me to believe that even the DASH bulls thought I was being overly optimistic. Here we sit at $140, and with projects all around us reaching staggering valuations, that $1000 price target isn't looking nearly as crazy. Here's the kicker--mass adoption hasn't even come anywhere CLOSE to beginning, neither for us nor even for Bitcoin. Crypto is still *years* away from that, most likely. If our price is $140 *long before* mass adoption hits, how much will it be in five years?

Granted that all of crypto is in a bubble right now, and who knows where things will stand in six months. Even so, if a hype cycle can take crypto's total market cap to $80 billion and DASH's to $1 billion, what might a hype cycle in a few years do to our price?

The last time the DASH market was turned into a full-fledged casino was only three months ago. Remember? There was a meteoric rise from ~$25 to $100+ in a matter of days. The shock! The awe! Aaannnd the sorrow – the tears shed – by those who couldn’t believe it when DASH sunk back down to ~$60 in the following weeks.

As of a few hours ago, DASH hit $143 per coin. (Why, yes, that is substantially more than what you fear-sold for a few months ago). That’s a ~30% price increase in only 24 hours. What’s going on? No one ever knows these things, but that doesn’t stop us from guessing.
