TLDR: Zerocash is a monero killer. RIP

LOL I'm sure he'd never heard of (vaporware BTW, and with other issues) Zerocash when he posted about buying Monero.

By the way, why are you posting off-topic Monero information on the DRK thread?

Hey Smooth, you know I was thinking of buying some Monero (nah just kidding but just play along for the moment)....

But i cant even buy them on Cryptsy?  So even Crypsty with it's 100+ alt-worthless-crap-coins including some pittiful coins worth only handful of sat's wont even list Monero???  Like VDO coin?  WTF is that?  It's worth like 44 sats.

That saying somethin' if you ask me!

Just admit you've spent too much time and energy backing the wrong horse and the Dark community will more than welcome you and forgive you.  You'll feel better, it'll be like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

edit - I will officially not respond or acknowledge trolls from this point on.  I will remain on topic.

Wouldn't the Monero thread be the right place to ask that? Or maybe the cryptsy thread even better?

Since instantX which is cool and works perfectly drk got more attention and trust in dev team. We can see a lot new faces who have never came here before all year long. Recently we can see dozens of monero trolls and their developer included what is very shallow imo.

Do they affraid of something comming here and posting all the stuff ppl already know?
Go to your own thread, improve your own coin, put into some interesting features etc to gain ppl intrest instead of trolling here again and again.

Too much spam. All on ignore.

BE SMART, USE DASH ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I also don't generally think it's a good idea to get tribal about what is ultimately a technical project, but those guys ( <-- racist term according to smooth) are beyond the pale.

They've chosen to turn a technical agenda into a question of professional integrity and that's a war they're going to loose.

I think what's happened is that when cryptonote came on the scene they thought they'd 'clean up' the anon space. Then when they didn't they started plastering all this "cryptography is king" stuff all over the place with such an odious sense of entitlement and arrogance that that didn't work either.

Then they discovered this "instamine" business as if "hey we're onto something here" - no, that didn't wash either cos it's only been the favourite haunt of every fudster that even walked these threads for a year. Next - lowest of low - attack the dev's competence and finally, in desperation his personal integrity.

Undignified is not the word. How to chuck out every shred of professional credibility you ever had and at the same time expose your project as a no more than a front for two people with chips on their shoulders the size of bricks.

Thankfully someone seems to have found the right words to sum it up:

So you're going to get tribal then. Okay, I guess you are off my short list of non-retarded DRK supporters.

Incorrect. There are technical questions and there are questions about the scam instamine/premine. Both are legitimate criticisms of this project, but they distinct and one does not supersede the other.

Incorrect. Nobody decided to "clean up the scene." In the cryptonote case, we saw some best-of-breed cryptography (acknowledged by many experts, I won't bore you with the references, as I'm sure you've seen them) that was being run as a scam in a deceptive manner using a fraudulently concealed premined, and coins spamming campaign, and a bunch of nonsense stories about the dark web and aliens. So logically we decided to fork it and run it as an open-source project independent of the crazy premine-hiding and alien-crediting people.

In this case I see some mediocre technology and a lot of stories being repeated in order to cast the most innocent possible light on an instamine/premine scam that when examined critically looks highly suspicious at best.

There is no plot and no plan, just a couple of different situations, involving a different people for different reasons.

Furthermore I find this who anti-cryptography rant you seem to be on to be quite absurd, give that we are all here because of cryptocurrencies. Its very amusing to see you spin using sound cryptography and rigorous methods as solutions to problems as being somehow inappropriate. With that attitude toward software design and development, you should probably go work on web sites or something else equally trivial.

You're grasping. The issues here are the instamine/premine, what actually happened vs. how it is being expalined/spun today, mediocre snake-oil anonymity, and a dangerous ponzi-like investment scheme.  If you don't like where that leads when examined critically, that is your burden to bear.

Quote

That's rather hilarious I have to say. i doubt you can find a single shred of evidence that anyone associated with Moenro has ever had or expressed any interest in forking darkcoin or doing anything whatsoever with darkcoin, nor that any of us ever viewed cryptonote as an alternative to anything. I've suggested that someone go ahead and fork it to get out from under the shadow of the instamine/premine if the technology is supposedly so damn good, but I'm sure not interested in anything like that.

You should also go ahead and trace some Monero ring signatures while sitting on a toilet. It's so easy, just do it or GTFO.

Well, looks like the trollero dev has no valid points ..

Lets summarize the claims that trollero community made here :
- instamime (who holds it or it's already distributed) ? Proofs ? Don't post again the pathetic curve graph
- risks of the masternodes network (tell me about them with proofs and valid arguments)
- DS is traceable (prove this also)

So smooth I'm waiting you or your well-known "cryptographers" to prove your claims Cheesy .

What your interested in amounts to waging a campaign of defamation and don't pretend it's anything else.

Disagree.

Interesting we are back to attack-the-attacker here.

What does it even matter what I'm interested in? If my facts are incorrect, refute them.

People can make their own conclusions which may disagree with mine, yours, or both.

Suppressing, spinning, whitewashing, or presenting suppositions (e.g. about "distribution" or "mistakes") as fact, or even redirection the conversation to be about another coin (though we do thank you for the exposure!) aren't going to fly.

TLDR: First, smooth tried to claim none of the wallets were closed score so i provide screenshots that proved they were.
Second, smooth tried to claim all the wallets were GUI and again i provide screenshots proving another monero lie.
Third, smooth apologized after getting caught lying again.

Why are you posting off-topic Monero information on the DRK thread?

Oh that's right, attack-the-attacker strategy.

I haven't even got started yet.
Coming soon...

The truth about the monero instamine and crippled miner scam.

I'm still researching but i found some devestang stuff already. I need to catch up on the last walking dead episode and ufc fight night 62 and i'll be back.

If you (monero) stop trolling DRK/DASH i won't make a huge deal out of it or start a whole thread about what i've uncovered. If you continue trolling though the gloves will come off, you have been warned.

Bah, give it a rest. You don't see VISA or MasterCard trolling DRK/DASH, and for a reason.

Maybe the reason is

Visa/DRK = 7000
DRK/XMR = 4.5

(Yes I know equity market cap and coin market cap aren't really comparable, but it is an interesting illustration of how silly this is, and also how silly talking about DRK and Average Joes is at this juncture.)

It matters because we're not arguing about those facts.

We're arguing about the conclusions you personally choose to draw from those facts and the inference of malicious intent that you plaster all over the place as categorical.

That is defamation of character, nothing to do with "posting facts".

Consider 2 cases:

[1] - coin is launched. A large instamine occurs due to low difficulty. Dev shuts up about it, dumps his holdings on the market and f*cks off to beach in retirement

[2] - coin is launched. A large instamine occurs due to low difficulty. Dev corrects the difficulty, announces the situation to the community and asks their opinion on how they want to proceed. Spends the next year being one of the most productive and innovative developers in crypto, delivering one after the other update according to roadmaps and achieving a high valuation for the remaining investors

You're skating on very thin ice picking on option [2] as the basis for a campaign of defamation and your little "refute my facts" playground debating tactics aren't going to disguise it.

Fortunately those options are not exhaustive.

What does case [1] even have to do with DRK? Clearly nothing like that happened here but so what? That doesn't make [2] a correct, complete, and non-misleading description, as much as your cheap attempt at false dichotomy might suggest. You know better, come on.

Pretty much nothing ever comes from you that doesn't read like marketing and promotion, so we all know where you are coming from on this.
