I'm virtually done with mining, its not economic, competes with latest generation of chip releases and wears them motherboards and cards out awfully quick, am keep the hardware and bang it back on at short notice if the difficulty ever drops.

Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%

The slippery slope of the DRK DASH INSTAMINE SCAM!!!!!!!!

They can't handle truth.

These cultists would rather change the subject to off-topic coins and gossip than discuss the instamine and the questionable legality of their HYIP.

Yes man it's youuuuuuuuuu !!!

Darkcoin [DRK] is one four options for a poll here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1000455.msg10860844#msg10860844

Vote if you are interested in development for a fork of Darkcoin.  Cool

Litecoin seems to be pegging to bitcoin almost exactly point for point... I wonder when the floodgates will open as people realize it isn't 'silver' just because of a gray pallete.

MONERO DEVELOPMENT:

I also don't generally think it's a good idea to get tribal about what is ultimately a technical project, but those guys ( <-- racist term according to smooth) are beyond the pale.

So you're going to get tribal then. Okay, I guess you are off my short list of non-retarded DRK supporters.

Quote
They've chosen to turn a technical agenda into a question of professional integrity and that's a war they're going to loose.

Incorrect. There are technical questions and there are questions about the scam instamine/premine. Both are legitimate criticisms of this project, but they distinct and one does not supersede the other.

Quote
I think what's happened is that when cryptonote came on the scene they thought they 'clean up' the anon space. Then when they didn't they started plastering all this "cryptography is king" stuff all over the place with such an odious sense of entitlement and arrogance that that didn't work either.

Incorrect. Nobody decided to "clean up the scene." In the cryptonote case, we saw some best-of-breed cryptography (acknowledged by many experts, I won't bore you with the references, as I'm sure you've seen them) that was being run as a scam in a deceptive manner using a fraudulently concealed premined, and coins spamming campaign, and a bunch of nonsense stories about the dark web and aliens. So logically we decided to fork it and run it as an open-source project independent of the crazy premine-hiding and alien-crediting people.

In this case I see some mediocre technology and a lot of stories being repeated in order to cast the most innocent possible light on an instamine/premine scam that when examined critically looks highly suspicious at best.

There is no plot and no plan, just a couple of different situations, involving a different people for different reasons.

Furthermore I find this who anti-cryptography rant you seem to be on to be quite absurd, give that we are all here because of cryptocurrencies. Its very amusing to see you spin using sound cryptography and rigorous methods as solutions to problems as being somehow inappropriate. With that attitude toward software design and development, you should probably go work on web sites or something else equally trivial.

Quote
Then they discovered this "instamine" business as if "hey we're onto something here" - no, that didn't wash either cos it's only been the favourite haunt of every fudster that even walked these threads for a year. Next - lowest of low - attack the dev's competence and finally, in desperation his personal integrity.

You're grasping. The issues here are the instamine/premine, what actually happened vs. how it is being expalined/spun today, mediocre snake-oil anonymity, and a dangerous ponzi-like investment scheme.  If you don't like where that leads when examined critically, that is your burden to bear.

Quote

That's rather hilarious I have to say. i doubt you can find a single shred of evidence that anyone associated with Moenro has ever had or expressed any interest in forking darkcoin or doing anything whatsoever with darkcoin, nor that any of us ever viewed cryptonote as an alternative to anything. I've suggested that someone go ahead and fork it to get out from under the shadow of the instamine/premine if the technology is supposedly so damn good, but I'm sure not interested in anything like that.

You should also go ahead and trace some Monero ring signatures while sitting on a toilet. It's so easy, just do it or GTFO.

INVESTORS, WHAT WOULD YOU BACK WITH YOUR MONEY, REAL DEVELOPMENT, OR BICKERING IN AN INTERNET FORUM?

I know what I chose. I rest my case.

This is hilarious  Cheesy

Let's be honest. Trolls always want to make money. Always in the way trolleros like smooth, icecocksucker and Co. do it here. They think people don't know that.
Do they not see that it's not working with such a good project as Dash is? What's wrong with them? Are they worrying that their project stall and is going nowhere?
Maybe Dash is the obstacle for them?

I know they would like to see there the confidence we have here with our Dev team and the Dash as a whole.
I, on the other hand, feel constant uncertainty with what smooth is "working on" Roll Eyes. I mean, I can only trade it, but not invest more money because there is a lack of confidence with it. Constant uncertainty. Seeing one of their dev trolling only adds up to it.

I remember BCX's "drama". He with one hand put them down to a sea level. He almost flashed a turd down into the toilet.
Do they see this lack of confidence here? They are just a dogs barking at the caravan.

Maybe they had a deal with BCX. I would like to hear a story about it. Pitty that many people were scammed by them. Scammers.
Cooperate with somebody to shake out investors, break the price and make some money. Greedy scammers.  Grin

edit: no way. I won't read 20 pages? Roll Eyes

In case you missed it, I'll repost it one time as the esteemed 'ignored' just don't seem to want to let up,
The coins101 link summed up the deliberately slow miners using extra wasteful iterations for me,
http://da-data.blogspot.de/2014/08/minting-money-with-monero-and-cpu.html
It has some doozies.  For example, on line 100, you might note that for every iteration through an inner loop repeated tens of thousands of times, the AES key is re-imported into the library.  The later loop, starting on line 113, is repeated half a million times, and is so abstracted through lots of memcpys and pointer manipulation it's hard to tell that all it really does is one round of AES encryption, a pointer dereference into a random scratchpad, a 64 bit multiplication, and another pointer dereference.  Phew.  This original code was roughly 50x slower than my final optimized code, and could have easily been used to fake two years of blockchain data on a single computer or a small cluster.  I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
