The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Through this https://bitinfocharts.com/darkcoin/

I found that the rewards per block was increased up to 8.38 Dash.

Anyone please explain me:

Does it means the fewer miners the higher rewards per block? And how about max coins? Will the max coins can be much more higher than 22 millions Dashs?

Thank you,

Yes - less miners = more reward
Does not affect max coins

Actually, it does effect the max coins.  However, we're WAY below the required rewards to get to 22 million coins.  The way we've been going, it's more like the max # of coins to be produced will be closer to 16 million according to an estimate I did for myself a while back.  This is from memory, but I doubt we'll hit 19 million in 100 years.  And that doesn't include 10% coins that may never be created due to no approved projects being started later on, as it may become unnecessary to spend the money.

My only point being that it does effect the max number of coins, but even if mining is light, we'll probably never hit that 22 million coin mark.

Emission chart with the lowest reward possible (tnx poiuty!):
https://dash.org.ru/pages/stats.php#emission
~18.6M with the lowest reward, so ~22M is actually quite possible because on average it's a bit higher

Thanks for your answer. But what would happen if the Difficulty still low year after year? Would the Emission reduce?

Thanks,

It works the other way around - when diff goes down reward/emission goes up. So we are almost always on the lowest reward because miners are trying to get more. And to do so they have to balance right on the edge of it - they don't want to throw more hashes when reward is already the lowest one but they don't want to miss a block when reward gone even slightly up.

I was being somewhat ironic  Grin
In my country it means feck off and comes from the medieval use of the bow and arrow using those 2 fingers to shoot somebody that got shown to the French just before a big battle.

Yes, the Battle of Agincourt. It's most likely an invented story (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_sign#Bowman_explanations), but an entertaining one nonetheless :-)

i have a dream !! and it involves that ship, and the smaller one too  Grin
talking about ships, anyone noticed The Last Ship (tv show) has started again with its second season?
was a rather good episode.
Thanks for the heads up on the new episodes.
I like the premise and enjoyed the 1st season, but the show did seem like an ad for the Navy at times.
The Underworld chick is good and Adam Baldwin is funny even though it's supposed to be a serious role (he was awesome in Firefly).

All the more reason to use an external device to store your private key/seed and sign transactions (or start masternodes  Grin ).  With something like the Ledger/HW.1 or Trezor, the attacker would only be able to do this kind of power analysis from direct USB port contact.

Hi !

Can someone tell me how much a masternode earns per month?

They get 20% of the block reward right? Where can I find the number of masternodes? then I can calculate it myself

Have some dash in my wallet for some time now, I think I should really set up some masternodes ..

thanks

They get 45%. The amount varies, but I've built a spreadsheet for calculating the minimums you might expect:

https://masternode.me/downloads/diy_masternode_calc.ods

also, this page stays up to date with the network and calcs against his rewards:

The first project Self-sustainable Decentralized Governance by Blockchain funds should be implementing Compact Confidential Transactions into DASH.

EDIT: if the CCT is fixable that is.

Greg Maxwell Criticizes Altcoins for Distracting Bitcoin Development

http://moneyandtech.com/greg-maxwell-criticizes-altcoins-distracting-bitcoin-development/
 Wink

..."There seems no point of adding more altcoins to the table, the opinion has been shared widely before Maxwell demonstrated his opinions. However, there are still many who are actually working towards the overall development of the cryptocurrency sector. For instance: Dash, aka Darkcoin, has literally improved privacy quo by introducing transaction obfuscation features, a thing that Maxwell himself discussed during his Sidechain Elements presentation."

To replace darksend?

Not replace, but to complement it, and make it stronger. CT and CCT hides the transaction amounts, so you could mix without uniform denominations. It would also help dealing with change. I'm sure Evan, Udjin, et al would come up with clever ways to use it in the mixing.

http://moneyandtech.com/greg-maxwell-criticizes-altcoins-distracting-bitcoin-development/

With the expression of this view, Maxwell appears to be at once a cryptographical genius and a philosophical illiterate.

Quote
And most of all, [it has confused] our message to the public (regarding bitcoin’s ability to store value, as the unique Internet money).

It doesn't appear to occur to him that it is the very same public he's trying to convince that has created the altcoin environment. There is no confusion. The "message" has been received loud and clear.

It's just that the message of "bitcoin the technology" is not necessarily the same as the message of "bitcoin, the core developer".

"Peter Wuille, one of the Bitcoin Core Developers, also proposed the idea to combine Confidential Transaction feature with CoinJoin, an anonymization method that combines two payment transactions and making it a one Bitcoin transaction. The method obfuscates the direction, as there is no way to relate the input and output of a transaction. Dash’s DarkPay also uses a similar method".
