Well, yes, it is very easy to do, but some people are really afraid of computers, and don't find anything about it easy.  I have a dear friend who is so afraid to do anything with her computer, it's amazing!  She's not even old!  But I guess we've always been eggheads in my family, but not in her's.

However, there are MN management services.  The biggest one now is Node40, but also some of the developers and forum members like flair provide services.  You don't even have to risk your coins if you have the entire 1000 coins available.  You just give them the masternode private key, which can't be used to access your funds, only verify your node exists.  That and the transaction id for the deposit of the 1000 coins into your account and the index number in that particular block.  With that, they'll run your masternode.  You do pay for the service, but it includes servicing on a VPS as well as management, updating and making sure it's running and nothing is going wrong. 

So really, there is no reason not to invest in a masternode unless you can't afford the coins.  There are even services that group coins together from share holders and run nodes for them.  In this case, you have to trust them with your coins.  But you do get to participate in earning dividends on your coins, even if you don't have enough for a masternode.

I don't know of a single person who asked for help and didn't receive it.  Everyone who asked for help has come back to thank a member for holding their hands and walking them through it.  So if anyone has had trouble following the instructions, they have been given help.  If someone has not, they never asked.

I know because I have been here from the start and have read this thread every day.  I highly doubt I missed one.

I admit it's a bit technical (I'm not a tech pro neither) but there are some great tutorials on dashtalk. When I was stuck (after the update to DASH) I got prompt answers via the forum.

Thanks for the plug Tante. Some of our customers actually have the technical knowledge, but they have 5+ masternodes and don't want to manage them. It can take some time (a commodity).

It's like this. I have a house that needs a new roof. I did some roofing back in college, so I know how to do it myself. But, there are professional roofers out there who can get the job done leaving me to concentrate on what I'm good at... typing away on a computer to produce applications. It's not that I'm lazy, it just makes more sense for me to concentrate on my core competencies.

and indeed it brings an interesting point. I expect LTC's going to pump a fair bit more given the perfect storm of what's happening in China, the long confirmation delays currently with BTC and the push that (potentially, if it's true) this marketing company is doing.

But....(and it's going to be a big butt when it all comes crashing down) it's likely the pump will transfer to other cryptos and, like our BTC-e friend has asked, which ones will it be? I reckon Dash will be a prime jump-to crypto coming off the back of this and it could go off at any moment too.

I have many MNs running through splawik21's mn services and very similar experience.  Create a new address, move 1000 coins there. Give public key, get masternode config file.  Start masternode.     (Wait a few days and start receiving payouts).     His services cost less than the node40 services.

And that was the most frightening set of presentation slides I've ever seen.  Looks like those are the most dangerous criminals on the planet.  I sure hope they're not as good as they think they are!
