Someone should create a budget proposal to change the block size. Doesn't really matter what to, just some modest change, maybe 1.1mb. Masternodes vote on it, and some developer implements it.

Would make a point that is worth making imo.

Just wondering, how much coding would it take to change the block size? Just changing some numbers or is it really extensive?

We have a completely different system in the works, there will be virtually no block size limit, and I believe it will be a flexible as-needed block size.  I think it'll be announced soon.  Evan is working on a 50 page white paper (ugh!) which I hope is going to include all the innovations from the past because I don't think I can handle 50 pages of new stuff, LOL.  On the other hand, I'm really excited to see this whitepaper!

I am not a developer but I imagine it is changing a number and then doing a bunch of testing to make sure it doesn't break anything. I think it would be worth doing to make the point even if there is a mysterious system being worked on behind the scenes.

Tante, if you don't read it and then explain and condense everything into one nice short paragraph using simple language, how am I going to understand it?

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Awesome thanks, just got done reading TAO's Masternode guide in search of a site like this.

I just bought my first 260 Dash!

Look forward to being able to get the 1000 DASH I need to set one of these up...I like the fact that you can keep a Masternode hosted with your PC wallet offline.

Welcome! Thats a good start you're already 1 quarter there Smiley
Something to bear in mind with earnings is that the 50% masternode payements will drop to 45% with the forthcoming hard fork as 10% of total will be diverted to development costs.

And secondly, when the mining difficulty drops below ~2000 the block reward lifts off the 'worst scenerio' floor of 4.2 Dash and there can be tasty node payments(even 8-10 dash blocks so making 4-5 dash each time)

Thirdly, the more nodes there are, the longer you must wait for a payment, at ~3000, this is around 5.2 days.
