Hello, saw DASH up on coinmarketcap and was wondering is there anything new happening regarding developing the coin. I sold my BTC as I was thinking it will go down a bit and now getting to know more about Alt coins.
Thank you
Hello and welcome to the Dash community. Most important things about the future of Dash you can find here: https://www.dash.org/evolution/ especially this: https://www.dash.org/binaries/evo/DashPaper-v13-v1.pdf Much to read but it's absolutely worth it. In short: Dash fixes some big issues of Bitcoin: transaction time, privacy, performance (tx per second), blockchain size, end-user usability, project funding and more

Hello on page 18 it says this "The decentralized budget system will be well funded because the Dash protocol ensures that ten percent of the total currency emission every month is automatically redirected to support the ecosystem without relying on centralized sources of financing or altruism from the community. Funding is very important, because as a project gets more important, it will require better financing to remain competitive and to be properly maintained." Is this how Dash fund it self and will this be public where they spend those coins? Btw loving the coin so far; it is actually amazing the amount of work that is done already so far.

Yes, everyone can create proposals for a fee of 5 Dash. Then each masternode can vote democratic if it should get funded or not. Have a look at https://www.dashwhale.org/budget , it's a graphical interface for the voting system, where the proposals can be discussed too. Under proposal description you can see how the coins will be spend exactly.

More great discussion on the philosophy of where the industry is going. Essential "radar" material (even if it were wrong). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5vo0dTl8ZE#t=736A great 10 second summary of my own thoughts. Canned by David Seaman. (But then David Seaman said that he thought "Vertcoin" wold be "the one". Still good discussion though )

Why are you comparing Dash to Bitclones? Dash is up 25% comparing it to $ or oz of gold.

Why are you comparing Dash to Bitclones? Dash is up 25% comparing it to $ or oz of gold. When did I compare DASH to anything but itself? A couple of days ago, I posted a chart and said we are in for a rise around the 14th (which happened) I also called the correct time to bail on the rise. If you little bitches don't want my help, I'll just keep the knowledge to myself.

So, whats going on with DASH lately, from one of the strongest, most innovative coins down to today's stagnant price. Is there more development in the works? Something interesting on the horizon perhaps?
It is innovative and stagnant at the same time. The trick is, innovation doesn't guarantee rising price in crypto. There can be lots of legit development and promotion but markets are a whole different thing. The only case when you could be sure the price will rise is if DASH momentarily replaced Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and pizza. Otherwise it's just a game of deception played by whales to take your BTC. Regardless of how skilled and innovative the developers are.

We have two kind of buyers with Dash i think :
* daytraders, who have their own strategy when it comes to buying and selling * people accumulating Dash in order to setup either more masternodes or to setup their very first masternode
The last category (the accumulating type) is most likely secretly wishing for the price to stay a bit on the low side so they can keep accumulating Dash, at least untill the North America Bitcoin Conference starts 21 & 22 January 2016, after which things will get a lot more unpredictable for Dash.
It is important with Dash to at least consider the longterm aspects : block rewards will slowly start to get less and less for both masternodes and miners, which will lead to less new coins entering the Dash market in time (specially when the rise of active masternodes continues like it is doing currently).
Also take into account that in order to keep our network strong in the future the masternodes will need further incentivizing, this further incentivizing will most likely come from extra services they can provide for the network by then (thats is if they can match the hardware requirements).
I foresee a future where masternodes will get discussed a lot more openly, get a lot more attention and end up getting highly sought after when the realisation hits certain people what power these masternodes actually have... and in a totally decentralised way.
edit : i also think we hit a new ATH with number of active masternodes today .. 3425

@ any newbies thinking about getting involved with DASH below is a summary of some of the problematic issues associated: Here is a pretty decent compilation of issues that DASH has as a "crypto coin" all of which can be backed up by facts. To see all approporiate links associated with highlighted text here is the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2zufu1/a_great_podcast_by_lets_talk_bitcoin_discussing/cpmvogy**It should be noted that some dash supporters on that reddit thread think that FACTS are "trailer park behaviour" and "slinging mud".
Read on at that link for more context of the discussion which will give you perspective into the psyche of some dash supporters (not sure if it is a mental illness or willful denial of the facts by making such absurd assertions as BOLDED above).
