anyone know the progress on dark send? Smiley

Beta V5, which should really be V4.

Beta V5 will likely be followed by V6, before RC1, RC2, etc.

Dates? None.

My suggestion would be to come up with a short list of maybe 3-5, then perhaps a standard (short) survey that community members can take to friends/relatives/coworkers who have very little to no exposure to crypto in general and get their initial impressions, so that there is at least SOME sort of feedback from outside the bubble.

possible themes:

iDuff [ Grin]

iCash

iBank

dCash

iPay

cPay

p2pCash

e+cash

To clarify, I'm taking specifically about logos and/or marketing themes.  The name is fine - stupid to change it now anyway IMHO.

Disagree, you don't like paying for stuf and that's what you see everytiem -I PAY- also every transaction is not about paying it's about sending

It is going from an exchange to an exchange, maybe the second one could have problems?
if it isn't withdrawn the money will come back?

iSend

I'm not pushing any of them. Someone may come up with something completely different. eCherry. MasterPay, Hash eCash. Who knows.

Ideation leading to consumer proposition, leading to logo.

It could be that DarkSend is the way to go. Who knows.

It's fun to see that fake 2BTC sell wall @ 0.00140000 on cryptsy forcin to sell cheap.
I have to say it was even more fun when I placed buy wall @ 0.00139999 and watched the wall in no time, I guess the cheapskate buyer didn't see that coming Wink

One of the submissions - in some context of what I mean in terms of consumer branding

EDIT - this is not for darkcoin. I'm wondering about DarkSend and how that would sit with average Joe and Jane.

Did the lotterymining.com guys shut down and take the coin?  Today was an announcement to remove coins as the lotto is over.  My pin didn't work and my account has been locked.  The site stated an email had been sent to recover my pin.  But no email has arrived over 30 minutes.

Raising money for crowdsourced logo design on designcrowd.com

As per the timeline here, first step is getting some crowdsourced logos to pick from. I currently have 272 DRK redirected from bounties for this, and I need around 600 to kick this off.

Currently at 408 / 600 DRK for logo design.

Been away from internet for the last couple weeks.  Donated more for logo, as I said I would.

My feeling has been that neutrality is the best choice.  "Dark" won't play well to a wider audience IMHO and trying to convey too much about purpose with a simple logo can bring about unintended consequences as it pertains to individual interpretation.  The "lock" logos for example - I see security, others see oppression.  Both valid interpretations, one very definitely NOT what we're going for.

It may be possible to convey more of a message with proper vetting, but out of pure pragmatism that sort of vetting is going to be way more involved than I think anyone is able to deal with under the current circumstances, if it would be possible at all.

I agree that "Dark" is controversial.  That's why I like this logo design.  It's pretty neutral and emphasizes the "send" part by showing how it goes in all directions.  Also, I love the way it is used for all the different technologies in Darkcoin.  You can see it expanding to other new technologies for the future, and if you could require the logo when people adopt DarkSend, Dark Gravity Wave, etc... for their coin, it'd almost be like advertising, because the Darkcoin logo would look almost the same.

Only one little thing, I'd rather see the central color be solid, that's it.

I can also see it used on top of LimLim's envelope design for a send button, sort of like the wax seal of a letter  Grin

Also, I liked this one, but it doesn't seem as useful:

This is my favorite so far.  The first iteration of this design was appealing, but the keyhole really makes it more clear.

Whatever design you guys choose, we should then pay the designer or someone else an additional large bounty to really clean up the design and/or make ten more versions of the same design to further refine it.  This will improve the finished, professional feel in the resulting design.
