Let's promote camosoul as this threads official trollhunter and let him scare the shit out of all the trolls with talk about stupidity and blood No! Don't scare them off! We want them to sell us their DRKs! Take care of them like farm animals... Feed them and they'll hang around making bigger and bigger fools of themselves. Then when all their predictions prove wrong, they just disappear becasue they're so embarrassed that we have all their DRKs and the egg on their face is so huge they can't even see what trollpost to make next... Inflate them, get the trolls wound up by pretending that their trolling is working! IT's a cycle that can only lead to winning because they came here because they're wrong. The more you feed them, the more spectacular their failure when you win. When you lose as terribly as they have, they usually don't come back. Make them lose big. Ignoring them means they never go away...

This thread has been 99% bullshit for a very long time... You're just now noticing it... I'm going to go watch troll hunter on the giant TV that the stupid trolls bought for me, sitting on the couch that stupid trolls bought for me, in the house that stupid trolls bought for me, eating the popcorn that stupid trolls bought for me.

Indeed it has, while i have bought more DRK last night, im uncertain on its future. Unless darksend can be proven to work FLAWLESSLY, then it will never be successful. Perhaps the developers should be humble enough to make darksend open source instead of trying to selfishly get all the credit for creating it themselves. If it was open source im 99% confident all the issues would have been sorted well and truly by now and this coin would have skyrocketed. Reading this in the news does not look good. http://www.cityam.com/blog/1401188238/darkcoin-crashes-23pc-after-blockchain-forks

If Darksend was open sourced before it was even fully released with all the bugs fixed, Darkcoin would loose its advantaged as the top anonymous coin, and you know that, hence why you want it to be open sourced right now. Pathetic

If anyone wants me to setup a Masternode for them, PM me. Cost is 10 Drks.
If you want more than 3 MNs, I'll work out a deal with you. More than 10, I'll do for 5 Drks each.
If you're worried about security, you keep your own wallet encryption passphrase secret. You then change your server password. And I'll show you how to lock your server down.
If you're truly paranoid, contact DyslexicZombei and he may be able to do further hardening steps.
MN count increased to 374 from 371 yesterday.

Can someone explain why don't all altcoins have blocktimes of 30 seconds or less like zetacoin or ultracoin? Does it have a negative effect on security or block chain bloat?
It has a Huge negative effect on security + Tons of orphaned blocks.

Yes it causes forking on the blockchain, just like what happened yesterday with DRK, although yesterdays issue was not due to this, it also causes orphaned coins. Its impossible to get around this without reworking the code 100% ground up like other second generation coins such as NXT have done.

Ok, if the maths is right then, ANNUAL return per MN based on number of MNs:
371 = 28.3% 500 = 21% 750 = 14% 1000 = 10.5% 1500 = 7% 2000 = 5%
Above was for YESTERDAY. Now, with the new 20% of block reward payment to MNs (starting from June 14th), below are the new estimated ROIs, (Masternode count on left and ROI on right):
374 = 56% p.a. (current Masternode count) 500 = 42% p.a. 750 = 28% p.a. 1000 = 21% p.a. 1500 = 14% p.a. 2000 = 10.5% p.a.
This is based on the price at the time you buy the MNs and assumes the price does not change.
Therefore, in time the system will probably level out at between 2000 and 4000 MNs for a 5 to 10% annual return. However, this implies 2 to 4 Million darks, which is 50 to 93% of current coin supply.
This also implies the price of Darks are likely to rise, if people kept trying to setup MNs.

Until proof of even FPGAs are posted, ASIC = Pulled out of Obama's ass vaporware and not A real NSA product.
Proof of FPGA is not required, we know that FPGA can do it if someone programs them to. However their acceleration factor is not that big and it's highly unlikely to find thousands of them. ASIC = I don't know. But even at a 500x acceleration factor compared to a GPU (say a 3 MHs GPU / 1.5 GHs ASIC) it'd take HUNDREDS of them to pull stuff like 800-900 gigahash. FPGAs even more so because their acceleration is much closer to GPUs. I saw the link the guy gave as "x11 fpga program" which was bullshit, but hashpower is hashpower and it was tremendous. The main propagandist behind that campaign is cryptohunter who has been pushing this in order to discourage Darkcoin miners since it claims ASIC resistance. If ASICs existed you mean to say they were tested on the crapcoin first and never on DRK ?
If I were the NSA I'd make sure to have hardware ASICs for every single algorithm out there. If I want to break a wallet, or control a crypto network, I won't do it with GPUs. The budget for acquiring such equipment is pretty low for their standards. They could control 51% of bitcoin right now if they spent something like 100-200mn in ASIC for SHA256 and destroy bitcoin. Even 1 bn budget for ASIC hardware is peanuts compared to protecting the hegemony of the dollar. I believe they have the theoretical possibility of overriding every single POW network out there with 51% but a POS coin would remain resilient from a POW attack as it works through POS staking. So they would have a mess at their hand with an anonymous coin that remains resilient. So their hardware would be useless for 51% override. But it wouldn't be useless in the coin generation phase (POW). That's where I suspect they put their hardware on and started mining with that insane hashrate to get a 51% stake and control the future of the coin. If they didn't manage that, they'll manage it through buying a few more to get there. The absence of that hashrate from every other x11 coin is a huge indicator. The fact that, suddenly, 900gh of x11 hashpower appeared out of nowhere just to mine XC, doesn't "just" happen. Government agencies like the NSA have a lot to gain from ensuring DRK is a major success... Governments have more to hide than the average punter out there, it would make funding their wars offshore so much more efficient...
