WOW...I might be a little slow here (yeah, yeah...), but I only just realised the irony in:

LITEcoin being threatened to be overtaken by DARKcoin

It's the age old struggle between LIGHT and DARK, GOOD and EVIL, YIN and YANG !!!

So my brothers and sisters:

Aren't you all fighting on the wrong side here Huh

In order to bring balance to my force, I decided to equal my LTC holding to my DRK holdings.

This way everybody wins right ??

AND

THE UNIVERSE WILL BE AT PEACE

It's in our hands people

May the force be with you all

Ha! To the empire (litecoin) the rebel alliance is bad.

Nice article but the hardfork (RC2) wasn't to implement 'Masternodes' but to implement 'Masternode' payments  Wink

Masternodes and Darksend are in production for months now  Cool

Edited to

The Darkcoin development team, comprising Evan Duffield and Kyle Hagan, attempted a hard fork at the end of May (RC2). The objective was to implement 'Masternode payments'. The payments are an incentive to host masternodes (which cost 1000DRK) to host with a return of 10% PA. Payments for masternodes are currently at 10% (these are now increasing to 20% with RC3). The previous fork didn't go to plan, with several new blockchains springing up and the fork had to be spooned back to the old chain.

Darkcoin, the only fungible crypto currency.

DRK FTW

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG1qooBzE2w

HAHA!

We need a DRK version... the DRK anthem.

we have dark anthem

While enjoying that the price is going up again, why not also enjoying the DarkCoin Orchestral Anthem, especially composed for the DRK:

https://soundcloud.com/tcherkin/darkcoin-orchestral-anthem-short-version

Or maybe listen to the whole "The Order of the Dark Coin" - Orchestral Suite:

https://soundcloud.com/tcherkin/the-order-of-the-dark-coin-orchestral-suite

If you enjoy this music, feel free to download it and use it to all projects concerning DarkCoin

I also appreciate your DRK donations here: XiG7xsjFrAwtk3iAmxgapycErnErLCxuJQ

Thanks! Smiley

Mintpal and Cryptsy are both as bent as hell, you have to be an idiot to trust them with anything beyond deposit-trade-withdraw
Mintpal is bent as hell?

Most people trust it, but I'm ready to listen to contrary evidence if there is any.

he he he, ok maybe i was a bit too optimistic! 42coin is indeed supply constrained (42 coins, like you say!)
Can we at least expect DRK to match BTC sometime in the future? Cheesy
That's a bit optimistic. I'm positive that no coin will be equal or overtake Bitcoin. DRK might become the first altcoin though.

Cryptsy has been longer out there haven't they? I trust them more, since I've been with them for over a year.

I absolutely 100% truely think it will, or can... in the long run...  !!  Never expressed this thought, but I do see it happen.

Why?

Well ...

a) 2.5m tx time (DRK) vs 10 (BTC) * 6 confirmations = in practical terms means 10 minutes vs 45 minutes - without merchant platform

b) Privacy, or anonymity.

c) DRK solves the MAJOR issue with BTC.... fungibility!! A secondary effect of b)

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-fungibility-essential/

... but I'm sure BTC itself will eventually find a "workaround". In the meantime, DRK has to work to to establish itself as the standard for privacy.

I agree
DRK has to work out the 100 % Anonymity
and we can NOT be beaten !
That is the most important step for now !

Yeah right. You can only dream of it. Bitcoin will always be first and all other currencies are usually talk after mentioning BTC.

You maybe right but history tends to repeat itself and the number one today will probably be in some other place tomorrow  Wink

Darkcoin wont ever hit $100 because that means I'd have a good amount of money for a house deposit and that type of thing doesn't happen to me  Lips sealed

There's nothing mutually exclusive.

Say it hits 25$, you believe that it won't go to 100$ because "it doesn't happen to me", you sell at 25 and then it goes to 100 and you are like "aaaargh why did I sell? My damn luck..."

So DRK goes to 100 but you don't get the money for a house deposit and "this doesn't happen to me" criteria also stands.
