Unfortunately, Cryptcoin devoured Darkcoin in anyway. As I can see the price is plunging with everyday, even though there are good news, greater payment of masternode and more new projects to come. I don`t want to be a pessimist, but as we can see most of the people gave up  Zero volume in Mintpal for the past 10-20 minutes... what if i told you that everyone is holding/waiting? The sell volume is so small right now. Price plunging 16.5 to 17.5-18 so many days now, it's day traders that make profit, just take a look at the 1week chart on mintpal. |

So wait am i reading this right does this new patch offers a way to prevent DOS on coinjoin without participants putting up collateral?

I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

If BTC is improved upon significantly enough, the brand name won't save it. Yes it will IMO, because we're talking about *money* not technological advantage. Those two things are about as unrelated as "gold as money" and "gold as tooth fillings". What people grossly underestimate when it comes to things such as money and value is that precedent is everything and technology is nothing. The "low tech" solution starts to be very attractive once it gains acceptance because as far as a store of value is concerned nobody gives a toss about 'functionality' or technical properties - they're not in the market for any of those things. Especially when the fact that it is old is the REASON it's completely transparent. Add to it the fact that these flaws are known and nothing is being done about it... Your suggestion is tantamount to forcing people to be smart... I don't have to explain my stance on that. ;-)
By selling iMacs, Apple are not *forcing* people to use an "all in one" computer. They are a contributing one option in a wider marketplace. By offering a comprehesively anonymous network, DRK is not *forcing* anyone to use anonymous transactions. Likeways, they are offering *one* distinct type of product in a diverse marketplace. Those arguments would only apply if DRK was the only crypto around. It isn't so they can't be accused of not offering choice when in fact that's exactly what they are doing within the wider marketplace. Apple also sold NOT iMacs. Choice. I'd be irritated if DRK client forced me to use DarkSend. I'd use it all the time anyway... But being forced to do a thing just plain pisses me off and makes me want to hurt people. DRK can give people a choice WITHOUT pushing them out of DRK to do it. A.k.a.; If all Apple ever sold were iMacs, they would probably have gone out of business. Do we want to push people off of DRK when we can give them a choice in-house instead? And again, I re-iterate, the only reason I have two 20nm Neptunes on the way is because I will dump BTC for DRK. Using this strategy neither the master nor other nodes know which outputs belong to which inputs. |

To me that wouldn't even be as good as today's fiat banking system - the privacy of a person's income would be a lottery depending on whether their payers happened to use darksend or not. The concept of financial privacy applies to *all* financial transactions I would have thought, not just expenditure. In fact, if anything, most people are even more sensitive about their income than their expenses. I suspect the devs are still mulling over whether to leave it optional or not but I wouldn't make financial privacy a lottery with this coin, I'd make it a guarantee because there's no other reason to be in this space. |
