Does anyone have any good ideas how to monitor your MN? enabling sendmail in the VPS and opening ports is one option, but probably not a very good one.

Ping works, but thats no guarantee darkcoind is actually running..

You have two independent Masternode listings. Check your IP against them. If all is good, they'll show up nicely.

But that requires manual inspection  Roll Eyes

I will look into the possibility of using postfix and sending email if darkcoind goes down..

Don't think short term, just keep your coins a few months. In a few months DRK will be massive.

Better: Stop expecting other people to do every little thing for you. Learn how to do it yourself. Think DOS batch file on steroids. It's really not that hard and you'll be glad you did.

UNSURE ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FOR FRIDAY'S HARD FORK?

You must update to the latest version, anyway, here is a guide on what to do depending on whether you are a regular user, masternode op, pool op, exchange, etc. Please visit and make sure you update soon.

I think this had been discussed before so forgive me but I think it needs to be brought up again since its ongoing.

Im unable to access Darkcointalk.org on any of the machines where I had visited the site in the past. Reseting everything that can be reset in Safari doesnt fix this. Im a experienced Mac user and Ill guarantee that if running the reset option or trashing preferences doesn't fix this, it will go unfixed on most users machines.

Surely this can be corrected on your end.

Nonsense
I accessing Darkcointalk.org from my phone and 3 different machines
(incl MAC)
try again …>>

Not nonsense. I'm in same boat; unable to access via phone on Chrome, no matter if it's over WiFi or mobile.

Tried now in chrome and safari on my macbook pro.
chrome access Darkcointalk.org fine.
safari CANNOT access Darkcointalk.org. says page cannot be found.

I feel pretty comfortable using local wallet/remote MN daemon with a script to email me if anyone manages to logon to the MN via ssh.
I treat my masternode as already compromised, therefore no sensitive info and no wallet, etc, never enter passphrases on it. Then the script below emails me if anyone logs in. The second I see one of those emails, if the ip is not mine, I'll be shutting down by local wallet machine and probably network until I can investigate. I figure the time between when the attacker netstats my home IP and figures out the number of exploits he'd need, I'll have shut down my wallet long before.

Just add something like this to the end of .bashrc

echo 'Root Shell Access (single1) on:' `date` `who` | mail -s "Alert: Root Access" address@mailbox.com

Home network has multiple diverse gateways, and attacker will shut down everything if he tries to come in through available means. Also since the mn is essentially empty/blank, i feel no risk there.

Also supervisord can ensure the process remains up, probably can email the status from there too. Also ping or port scan your box to ensure it's up and 9999 is open, might want to close icmp. Also do masternode list | grep *your ip* to ensure it's still running.

I hadn't thought of process monitoring beyond supervisord, if I put something together maybe I'll post it here.

If you don't need funds now, then hold.

If the next hardfork goes and planned then you will be sitting on a very nice profit.

Use http://uptimerobot.com/

--> HTTP and Keyword monitors :

Use address as Keyword.

If NM is invalided in both poolhash and darkcoin.io, entry will be removed.

http://drk.poolhash.org/vertcoin/blocks/masterlist.json is source for listing.

1 hour chart starting to turn the corner now.

Bidwall thickening up.

The spectre of a 2938 DRK shot appeared for 20 seconds and then disappeared quickly once they realised they weren't getting any at that price and were only going to scare away the offers if left in place.

Hawks are hovering.

bobo - as I understand it, your local machine can go offline once it's "pow-wowed" with the remote masternode and confirmed it has the 1k drk.

Am I wrong in that understanding ? Does the local wallet machine have to be on all the time ?

Obligatory.

^^^ Is live data btw (at the time of posting)

I'm guessing the ~40 BTC bidwall was broken down into the 3-15 BTC pieces from 1650 to 1662.

Is there anyone willing to help troubleshooting what's the issue with my masternode? It used to be working fine.... (proof is that I got MN payments)
Now it's not listed on chaeplin's MN lists.

Willing to pay a bit if required.
