El Presidente, on the most recent block below (7/4), do you know why the actual payee (in bold) was different from the expected payee (me--in italics)? Thanks in advance!! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg7673133#msg7673133Expected Masternode Payment : set filter to see result(recent blocks - 6 blocks) from block height 91796
result of getblocktemplate can be differ on other node till RC3
With RC4, a deterministic list of the “top 10 masternodes” with the winning scores will be used. RC4 Development and Path Going Forward
listing may have bugs. please report.
My code search tx[0]vout for payee like this. 1) compare tx[0]vout with previous recorded getblocktemplate result +3) : hit : got equlto, fail next. 2) compare tx[0]vout with current Masternode pubkey list +3) : hit : got innmlist, fail next. 3) compare tx[0]vout[value] : >= totalvalue / 10, < totalvalue / 3 : hit got not_detected. next (time outed node can be a payee) 4) tx[0]vout == 1 : got tx_0_vout_1 / not paid
: So innmlist means == diffrent payee with result of getblocktemplate(can be different), but payee is in Masternodelist.

Sorry hadn't finished reading all the latest posts yet. : So innmlist means == diffrent payee with result of getblocktemplate(can be different), but payee is in Masternodelist. What on earth does all that mean lol? Does that mean that with the new deterministic system I would have gotten paid but under the current system I didn't...is that the gist? Sorry, I don't know jack about computer code lol

A theory on the recent price drop. Hoping to open a discussion. I'm a DRK holder, bought in when cheap (but nowhere near MN levels) and have been mining steadily.
From a miner's point of view DRK looks like a circle-jerk between master node holders. You get the impression that DRK exists so that people can run MNs, which exist so DRK can work and pay the MNs...
Some quick math: A MN is about a $7000 investment if you bought in while low recently. Upkeep costs are negligible. It pays about 1DRK/day. You can get 100% of your investment back quickly and easily if you want out. NET RESULT: .00014 DRK/$/day.
My miner cost $2500. After upkeep costs (and I have the cheapest power in the US) I get about .1DRK/day on a good day. Less than half that on a bad one. If I got out I might get 50-70% return selling my used hardware by dealing with flakes on ebay and craigslist for a month. NET RESULT: .00004 DRK/$/day.
Mining is over 3 times less efficient. Unless that ratio starts to change, miners will drop off to the point that the coin is in danger due to low hash rate.
The impression is of the rich just getting richer and the little laborers getting sweatshop pay, and it's a huge turn off.

No... Less miners means lower diff and higher block reward = more incentive to mine. It's very clever, self balancing system.

If you don't know how difficulty adjustments work, you probably shouldn't be mining. Maybe you could sell Scentsy or something? P.S. All those "rich" people buying coins to build masternodes are making the coins you mine even more valuable.

Way to make a guy feel welcome there. Someone comes here and reads this and sees this fine example of the community, that's another reason why DRK is dropping. Your point about people buying DRK so they can make masternodes to make themselves more DRK is just reinforcing my MN circle-jerk theory. I know how the difficulty works, but RIGHT NOW those are the stats and I'm proposing that RIGHT NOW that is why the price is tanking. If the hash rate drops an appreciable amount so that mining is significantly easier, don't you think that will drop the value of the coin too?

I am a miner too and mining drk is not profitable and to be honest never was BUT i dont mine for the price which is now but for the price which will be at the end of this year or next year. Sometimes I mine some shitcoins dump them to buy drk feel free tp do what is the best for you. 90% of time I mine drk cause I dont have to watch trade etc it..have pace and calm OK back to work now.

I tried, it's too small... you have to take into account that it's a GIF.

How will they control the number of masternodes if there becomes too many? Guessing it will be first in first serve but don't know how that could be regulated.
Double MN reward to 40%. But wouldn't raising reward increase node count? You see where this is going? To the moon. DarkCoin has already been to the moon, that's why there's no signs of life... Boom-Tish...

Masternodes are subject to exactly the same economics as mining - the more there are the less the gain. It isn't a question whether it "works" or not, it's just another way people can service the network and receive compensation for doing so. As you said yourself, this is the situation *now*, but it will be in a constant state of flux. More miners - difficulty goes up, revenue per hash goes down. More masternodes - network service sector increases, revenue per node goes down. Ann additional dynamic is that while mining increases the money supply, masternodes *decrease* it and the net effect of this is to increase the price for both holders and miners. Sidenote: OUCH. My VeniVidiVicci has tanked to a quarter of its value. I didn't enjoy that. (+ didn't offload my XC fast enough after the pump and now can't get rid of it).

Well, she already has the D. So disappearing the V to show more D is not fair to the people who want to see the V. We must have BOTH the D and the V, or else something went wrong.

Both the V and the D are equal and should be treated as such. They are intertwined and will always need each other.

Why these stages are called "Release candidates"? They still look like "Beta" with all these changes on every update.. Let's face it. There is a big possibility that the coin won't survive due to her complex algo.
I agree, humankind should give up doing all complex things, and remain with the simple ones. I firmly vote that we abandon MATHS as soon as possible, for Mathematics has always been tooo complex in my opinion. Now, serious... why would being "complex" cause DRK's failure? Let me explain... NASA spend $20 000 000 once to invent a ballpoint which will work without gravity.. Russians just used pencils What 80's movie is that quote from? It's on the tip of my tongue...
