I don't get it, why is lightcoin worth $5.50+ right now? What the heck? Why?
Scrypt ASIC manufacturers, combined, would have invested tens of millions at least... They will prop the price of LTC up until they've raped the market with "product testing" and then shipped their orders...

DRK then Blue? Sweet! Great work Dark devs, my respect goes to you guys for implementing Dark Gravity Well. BlueCoiner just made this announcement in the Bluecoin thread. it's my first time hearing about DGW, glad they brought it into the picture and respects to darkcoin. BLUECOIN VERSION 1.2 DGW - HARDFORK @ BLOCK 113,000NEW WALLETS COMING IN 24 HOURS!https://github.com/bluecoiner/bluecoinhttp://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/Dark_Gravity_WaveChanges: 1. DGW added to PoW and PoS @ block 113000 2. Coin Control "on" by default. More about Dark Gravity Wave: In concept, DGW is similar to Kimoto Gravity Well, adjusting the difficulty levels every block (instead of every hundreds of thousands of blocks like Bitcoin) by using statistical data of the last blocks found. In this way block issuing times can remain consistent, despite high fluctuations in hashpower. However it doesn't suffer from the time-warp exploit. Version 2.0 of DGW was implemented in Darkcoin from block 45.000 onwards in order to completely alleviate the time-warp exploit. Version 3.0 was implemented on May 14 of 2014 to further improve difficulty re-targeting with smoother transitions. It also fixes issues with various architectures that had different levels of floating-point accuracy through the use of integers.

The last time I used Digital ocean I was kicked off by them for breaching the terms and conditions - "Excessive use of resources". They locked down my account and servers. I couldn't even get in to my own servers. After pleading with them they allowed me 1 hour's access to get my stuff off and then shut me out for good. For a masternode it might be ok (I was mining Maxcoin) but I'd be careful with them. Hmm... I mined DRK in february with Digital ocean and never had same type of problem as yours (with the 1 cpu @ 5$/month, and the 2 cpu) . But don't use it anymore, I personaly use Vultr for my MN. Because it'snot us company.

Interesting point of view about high difficulty causing price pressure as miners need to sell to cover costs. “If the miners are a steady source of supply and there is no increase in final demand, we have this overhang of bitcoin being sold in the market. In consequence, we have downward price pressures.” Also, chasing after merchants causes price pressure as they tend to exchange rather than hodl. This is indirectly keeping alt-coin prices down. http://www.coindesk.com/citi-miners-merchants-keeping-bitcoin-prices-check/We need the Master Node network to earn lots of revenue from different and complimentary revenue sources to create buy demand!

I know it's still leagues away, but a potential decentralized market AND/OR (this one is even better) anonymous web browsing would allow for a higher demand imo (take a 0.01% fee on every transaction for a decentralized market, automatically sold for darks and paid to MN owners). As for a dark web, I think making it free but slow (as in, slightly faster than Tor at best), with a payed solution for very fast browsing, would be the best option.

Ok guys, can we please stop with the whining !!! the prices is this, the price is that, the dev should do this and that .... BLA BLA BLA everything is on track, leave Evan alone, the man is deep into his coding (exactly where he is supposed to be) you bitching about the price ?! Well do something ! get involved, it is now on the community to get the next steps into place before open source, RC5 and everything else starts kicking. Now is your time to be proactive - Help out on Open Bazaar (thread on DRKtalk) to get DRK accepted - Contact 'anonymous' suggest DRK to them - Get in touch with people who might need and understand Anonymous Transaction (think about it, there are a lot out there) - Contact these guys and see if they wanna be involved with us http://en.rsf.org/reporters-without-borders-and-25-04-2014,46196.html- Spread the word on social media - ..... all of this , and mainly Merchant adoption of DRK would help us, you and the price a LOT So get on it NOW

I'm sure merchants would love to adopt it, but a lot are hesitant because they hear it isn't totally open-source. It becomes much easier to sell people on DRK when they realize they can look at the code and see the anonymity really works, and that there's nothing malicious in there to worry about.

I understand this video is just of the source code activity.... but i think if we made a video Like this showing the breakdown of Darkcoin while is doing denominating rounds would be really sick and also show the true complexity of the annon process to the people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKOGV3A9tbkgood one, i just posted the link to drktalk as they are planning to do some bios for dark coin tx
