most likely in the trash or what not -
really wouldn't worry about it
Yeah, no trouble. It's great that you're so passionate but we do need to be careful how we position the stuff, especially when the mainstream media is all agog about terrorism and looking for anything that can demonize as part of some abhorrent plot to help with terrorism funding or expertise. As I've noted previously, Darkcoin is at high risk of suddenly dropping into a maelstrom of controversy and beat-up. Didn't mainstream media accuse bitcoin a couple years ago as something that could be used by terrorists and criminals? Look where bitcoin went after that. I wouldn't worry too much about mainstream media demonizing darkcoin. Let them have a go at it. They love to sensationalize and to scare people. The more darkcoin is mentioned, the more people will look into it. That's how publicity works.

Oh yes absolutely, ultimately no coverage is bad coverage when you have something so substantial on offer. But one can avoid a whole lot of pain, difficulty and unnecessary persecution by just positioning the stuff appropriately up front so we don't end up with a runaway situation of the public completely missing the point of what Darkcoin is and why it's so fundamentally important to them and democracy in general. That's the higher level message I'm getting at rather than just "Darkcoin is for people that want to transact privately", a message while entirely true, leaves the purposes of why people would want to do that open to the default speculation of the ignorant masses: "they must be criminals".

The press release will take care of saying what darkcoin is and what it does. Mainstream media will create distortions or someone else will. It's not something that we should fear. We can't control every outlet and who brings what news. If someone wants to know what darkcoin really is, they will do the research and make up their own minds.

What is needed is a clear message: 1) Darkcoin is the only crypto that succesfully implemented anonymous transactions, which was confirmed by the recent update 2) The code is going to be open sourced. This provides the coin with the element it was missing - transparency and opens the doors for its adoption Also we should mention that the coin is mostly traded on mintpal and cryptsy, where it can be bought for both BTC and USD.

MintPal They down for maintenance or something? Yeah, what's with mintpal, they are definitely down. Good thing I get most of my DRK thru mining, not thru exchanges.

Lets leave that there until XMR matures through the hard work of the devs and the committed contributors.

Cloak tried and failed and that would be replicated by CN 2) I was talking about removal of drawback rather than extra feature

It'll take probably 2-3 years before CN is where Bitcoin based coins like DRK are right now. But where will DRK be by then?

true, XMR is alpha level by many standards, but it has been verified by external specialists, the code need lots of redone still. 2) I was talking about removal of drawback rather than extra feature
if its new code I dont see why it will take relatively more or less time than XMR to be matured, it should have always been open-source on first place. Verified as awful by external specialists maybe: https://twitter.com/petertoddbtc/status/507427225927708672And Darkcoin has been open source from the start, except Darksend, which was only recently completed/audited and will be open source on Monday. There are many good reasons for not releasing untested code into the wild...

Their bot legions are all returning to base to receive new programming from their new masters. Unbridled market rape thanks to the $millions that fools leave in the Mintpal coffers will re-commence shortly.
