Damn, I have a decent amount of btc & drk on mintpal. Should of put it in my own wallet. *Idiot.
It's kind of funny that out of all the cryptocurrencies we are the only one listed on Bitfinex. Ashame that it isn't utilized more.
I'm from the UK. What's the deal with using them? Any restrictions on overseas users? If not, I'll send a few grand over there. Do I need to give them ID to transfer DRK or BTC <> $ or, is that only required when DRK > $ > bank account? I believe ID is only required for direct deposits into your bank account. I've done that with them previously and it was really an easy experience. For a simple sign up, I think I only gave them an email and username. You can actually get an incentive for signing up with an affiliate code which gives a 10% incentive on trading fees to the affiliate. If you haven't signed up with them and use this link https://www.bitfinex.com/?refcode=GKru6PEkpW it'll activate the affiliation. Or just use the code "GKru6PEkpW" when signing up. Note: I'm not sure if it only applies to the affiliate or if you would receive 10% of my trading fees as well.

Actually, what is the best way to lend DRK generally? How could I lend 1,000 DRK to someone and earn interest and ensure I have some way to get the DRKs back? DRK Pay-Day loans would be a nice little franchise business

Could we create an international version, and operate it as a local franchise - using the Master Nodes as well, maybe? http://www.zopa.com/

I have been studying crypto related companies, and how to close the circle so I can get businesses in my city to accept Darkcoin and people to use it. I have many ideas like private parking in some crowded areas of the city that would only take Darkcoin or grocery stores that could take coin, atms, etc. It became clear that we are still missing a few elements, and we are going to need distributors/companies that push the solutions in each market with a traditional sales approach.
We need:
1. Easy access to the coins through atms or agreements with local banks so you could get coins through online banking in the same way you get mobile phone credit. It must be easy and fast. 2. Point of sale equipment that looks similar to credit card payment terminals and a crypto debit card you could carry in your wallet similar to what coinkite has, but this would still need local distribution and support. 3. An online wallet, that folks that are not going to keep their own wallet in their computers can use just like online banking. 4. Android and iPhone wallets 5. Pushing adoption and giving support to local businesses that accept crypto.
As you can see, we are still missing some elements in Darkcoin so that this can be practical and used on a daily basis by people around the world. I am eventually going to launch a company like this in my region, it would be cool if we could do a global company and the share holders can push in their own markets. Why wait for someone else to do it?
Build the Darkness...I love it!

Trading volume dataBitcoin trading volume was dominated by US dollar trading until the end of 2013. USD-bitcoin trades routinely accounted for more than 70% of traded volume, according to data from Bitcoinity. Last October, dollar dominance began to slip, while yuan-bitcoin trades shot up. This came after the news that the US government had shut down the Silk Road black market, and as 2013 came to a close, CNY and USD trading took turns as market leaders. http://www.coindesk.com/chinese-markets-dominance-poses-questions-global-bitcoin-trading-flows/

I wonder how the mintpal outage might affect the price if it continues through Monday and there's a surge in demand for Darkcoin.
I suspect it will reduce the supply far more than it reduces the demand. The asks currently on Mintpal wouldn't be able to stand in the way of a rise as they otherwise might, and many people who might be inclined to sell are likely to wait for Mintpal to get fixed, or wait to see how the scenario plays out, but if the buyers start to get worried about missing the train they'll just get it from whatever exchange they can, chasing whatever few Darkcoins are there. There'd be nothing to stop it going to the moon, at least briefly. But would it form an unstable bubble that will crash when Mintpal returns to normal, or stay fairly high after the jump?

Got a few BTC on there waiting for some flash crash orders...... Haha. This is how I lost a considerable amount of money when Mt.Gox went down for good. I was happy when I bought the cheap coins which fell from the sky like rain but I could never even try withdrawing them. So, this time I withdrew all my BTC (which waited there for a DRK price move) as fast as I could after the first sign that something is wrong.

Instant transactions will hopefully ameliorate the 'need' for dunderheads to keep money sat on exchanges waiting for trade opportunities. Send to Botpal, get confirmed in seconds, trade, withdraw. The less money you leave on an exchange, the less their bots have to work with to screw you and everyone else over. edit: Hopefully Botpal 2's new owners have discovered just how badly the previous parasites had cooked the books, and everyone's coins are history. Might speed up the death of all of these shitshops. edit2: Someone please set up Darkpal - instant confirmations and no trading API=NO FUCKING BOTS shorting your 'investments' into oblivion with your own money...
