Anyone having issues with Mintpal withdrawing coins should try the direct link:

https://www.mintpal.com/withdraw/DRK

Got the last of my remnants out this morning even with the site wacky.

Also got my coins out after refreshing the link 20 times. This might be a great profit loss for mintpal if they miss the monday's open source volume. Can anyone recommend another exchange (other than cryptsy)?

https://www.bitfinex.com

They even pair DRK/USD

Is there any good article proving that btc address can be paired with users IP?

Plenty, if you look.

This is a good start: http://anonymity-in-bitcoin.blogspot.ca/2011/07/bitcoin-is-not-anonymous.html

i just got a great tip (regarding PR)
from jpr (well done man) regarding a conversation
on IRC he saw (Magazine related)

if you guys see or hear anything related to PR, News Publication,...
please let me know as i can always follow up, get contacts, talk to writers
or try to correct errors !!

and i STILL need any interesting contacts for the
OS Press Release mailing !! (coin magazines, writers, publications,
tech writers, bankers , investment pieps, ....>>)

i just send out tweets to everybody on our list
with a reminder to the Open Source release monday !!!
do the same, spread the word !!!

tungfa, please add wikileaks to the mailing list.

( wl-office@sunshinepress.org, wl-press@sunshinepress.org, more contact details at https://wikileaks.org/wiki/WikiLeaks:Contact )

Last I heard they were advising users that they can donate anonymously with Bitcoin, which as we know is NOT the case.

edit: I imagine most of the sites listed here have donation requirements: http://leakdirectory.org/index.php/Leak_Site_Directory

If I get the time later I'll see if I can compile a contacts list. This would certainly spread awareness among people to whom something like DRK is really needed.

I put an unofficial feature request for BTC<>DRK running through the Master Nodes, which, now I find this service ^^, I can tell everyone about.

It's not guaranteed to be worked on, but I think that because of this service being available for LTC, and soon other alts, it will be worth keeping track of this service and pushing a little harder for something similar.

Being able to move from BTC>DRK>BTC for a very small fee to MNs would be a killer application (why would you need DarkWallet?), especially if we could effectively have wallets acting as BTC and DRK mini-exchanges / liquidity, and the MNs as the automatic escrow.

Good idea ! A similar service for $ -> DRK -> $ or € -> DRK -> € would be awesome.

While I love the idea of adding fiat into the equation, I think that should remain with exchanges otherwise we get an excess of regulatory heat. Crypto<>Crypto is much easier to start with.

Just an unofficial status check... by reply or PM whichever you prefer, how many Darkfans do we have who are good enough writers of a non-English language that they could do a high quality translation of a short semi-technical text such as a press release?

You can count on me for the Portuguese language translation.

More like a service to pay instantly and anonymously with FIAT using DRK (e.g. (buyer) $ -> DRK -> (seller) $).

Hi,

Long term and substantial holder of DRK and lurker here. I meant to point out the following sometime ago as I have never seen it mentioned. The ASCIC scrypt miner company ZEUS has for many months been accepting DRK as payment for their products. When it became effective I thought it was a pretty big deal at the time. If you don't know they were the first to market with scrypt ASIC's producing their own chips and products in a mass way not that long ago. I don't know if it is considered a 'conflict' of interest being a maker of scrypt and now sha miners but as I say I thought it quite interesting when they started accepting DRK for payment of their product. And this is not a small operation by any means.

If you want to see it just add whatever product to their shopping cart and check out, payment at the bottom, LTC, BTC and DRK

Yes Crypto<>Crypto to start, but I'm already thinking ahead for a wider adoption.  Tongue The biggest hurdle to access to any cryptocurrency is IMO the FIAT > Crypto conversion.

Sorry guys - but new site doesn’t look like like promo site of «first and only already working, easy and ready to use anonymous coin» for ordinary people.
It looks like techno-blog for crypto-geeks testing prototype who already know everything about Darkcoin.

So this new site is great for active adepts of Darkcoin - OK. But to attract new people - IMO we need smth like https://bitcoin.org site.

May be we need to have bouth 2 sites:
1. Promosite to attract users-investors with professional design, usability, promo articles, video, ... with simple interface (strong selling site). Click to understand -> Click to download -> Click to buy. No distracting info.
2. Techno-blog with all the information for adepts that already use Darkcoin and intrested in RS, mining pools, updates and all such stuff ...

+1
Like the "First and only fully-functional and easy-to-use anonymous coin."

The first thing newbies see now is some Mandatory update that sounds like the coin was broken & needed an urgent fix. Not the best key selling message.

Also - the first line of definition people may still read is soooo boring: Darkcoin (DRK) is an anonymous digital currency based on the Bitcoin software. - To me it sounds very much like just another BTC clone.
Totally agree. The new site is quite poor in terms of design, layout and presentation. This site undersells our technology.  Even the old site was better. I'm a bit disappointed. We need some pros to build a site for us.

I'm not affected by the Mintpal problems but its a bit shabby that they haven't tweeted an update for 24+ hours.

The people with coins in wallets must be very worried about the lack of contact.

It almost makes me want to join twitter and express my mild annoyance at the situation.

Please, join Twitter! Voice your frustration, and then add another voice to the campaign. Encourage people to get into the Dark! Doesn't take much time out of your day to tweet a couple of times about the virtues of Darkcoin! This goes for everyone else too.....
