As I said earlier, we should maybe think of changing to a new algo.. Evan said that he would change algo when asics were possible, FPGA's are hurting this coin, this dumping is just insane.
We would be better with scrypt or sha256, at least their asics are in the market, but a new cpu/gpu algo would be better...
I must have missed that. Do you have a link to Evan saying that? Ditto. I've been around this project for a long damn time. I've never heard anyone say this... Another "put words in their mouth then claim failure when that which was never promised doesn't happen troll?"

Mintpal re-opening shortly.
What's going to happen
Mintpal will have 3 weeks of fee-free trading, so there are p&d groups waiting to get there and start buying their own coins to fake volume and price of many shitcoins. It could get crazy.

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question, but about the possibilities of X11 FPGA... How come such a large % of blocks are found by miners not using a known pool? (from chainz.cryptoid.info) Also how come the % has been increasing steadily... ...when major pools % like SuchPool has been decreasing? Why is it unreasonable to assume the unknown % is FPGA or why is it so high? Wouldn't this explain the constant dumping? Is there any info from blockchain analysis about where these coins are going? Or did I miss something obvious.... cheers I will confirm that our group has been successful in creating an X11 FPGA miner. We are currently discussing selling these miners or keeping them private. If we decide to sell we will make a post in the mining thread. x11fpgamininggroup pool info of https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/ is not updated Blockheight Age Transactions Value Out Difficulty As I said earlier, we should maybe think of changing to a new algo..
Another "put words in their mouth then claim failure when that which was never promised doesn't happen troll?" Yeah he actually said the opposite. I don't know where you're getting your information from. Proof is the below quote. We can't really do anything to stop miners from moving to GPUs in the eventual. It doesn't look like anyone has succeeded in making a miner that works well yet though. GPUs are in the natural life cycle of a crypto though and I'd like DarkCoin to follow the same path as Bitcoin did.

The whole point of X11 is to try and get the same network growth cycle as Bitcoin. Once Darkcoin is worth enough, people will invest the capital to create the ASICs. I never really had an issue with that, in fact that was the point of creating a new hashing algorithm, I think it will be healthy in the end to move to ASICs.

I got it on AVG Free as well I repeat...the ability to solo CPU mine has always been included from before the days this project forked from litecoin and it does not/will not trigger any AV alerts. Unless of course you're downloading a dodgy copy of the QT

I got it on AVG Free as well IF you are getting anything they are false positives - everybody knows that BUT - I've not seen any virus prompts for quite some time I'm sure others would agree I get false positives when downloading minerd etc but I have never heard of anybody getting a false positive from downloading a wallet.

Unless of course you're downloading a dodgy copy of the QT AVG will remove it from memory the second it pegs the CPU, and then it deletes the file! I ran into this when trying to get the CPU miner running on my son's winblows rig. Any CPU miner you download will be killed by AVG when the CPU pegs, and then the file deleted.

It is already built in to QT I can hear it from Evan now: "I put XcoinMiner into your darkcoin daemon so you can mine while you mine!" I'm mining on my t1.micro masternode! $ darkcoind getmininginfo { "blocks" : 146014, "currentblocksize" : 1375, "currentblocktx" : 1, "difficulty" : 3239.03718077, "errors" : "", "generate" : true, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 16990, "networkhashps" : 75279401580, "pooledtx" : 4, "testnet" : false } 17 khash/s. What a powerhouse! Edit: If I ever get any coins, they will show up in the remote wallet, which is normally a throwaway wallet for remote operated masternodes. So make sure you have backups of your throwaway!

I was never a fan of saying "ASIC resistant" because any static mathematical formula can be made into an ASIC... It's just a calculator that performs one set of functions over and over... It's only a matter of time. But still, the FUD killing is enjoyable. Trolljegeren for life.

I like, "Among many we are hidden." For me, I like to pull the E Pluribus Unum translation and tack it onto the Obscurum for the glorious poetry to hijacking the FRN's bullshit and throwing it in the Federeal Reserve's face. While E Pluribus Obscurum ends up changing that meaning, I choose the 'wilfully inarticulate' path of hijacking the guvtrash's phrase for my own interests and spitting on them while doing it. Rouser of Rabble. If I'm sooo below them, I'll mock them with deliberate illiteracy.
