My review so far is that I am not happy with my order. I have a LA6M and received one working controller and one broken controller. The broken controller wont even show an IP. Apparently no one is doing quality control checks over there. This means I can only run 10 units while the other 10 are sitting around collecting dust  Angry. I am requesting a replacement controller from jack.

In theory, if you chain together both 10-port USB hubs to the single controller it should work...the controller's are supposed to be able to handle upto 20 miners.

Now how that works in practice remains to be seen.

I'd also suggest you jump over to the litecointalk forums and look for the Scripta thread...DrFranz & Chirale have a Rasberry Pi version of minerd working for these...it's not perfect but it can help you get going.  I've tested this version of Scripta + minerd and it does work -- the only catch is that it doesn't turn off the BTC chip so it still draws extra power....but this approach can act as a stop-gap until Jack makes this right for you.

I tried 20 on one controller and it doesnt work. It lags and they all crash after a couple of minutes. 10 works fine though. I really dont want to run the sha-256 cores because of the greatly increased energy draw.

Use a windows or linux machine and just compile cpuminer, and cgminer from the github source:  https://github.com/gridseed/usb-miner . They fixed the power draw issues with this cpuminer source, so if you only intend to scrypt mine this uses the correct amount of power now.  Screw the hole controller all together until a future stable release.  I am running this from my Pi with no problems so far.

Yeah, I'll try it too! Thanks for that.

Did you follow any guide or post to get cpuminer compiled and installed on the pi?  Are you using NOOBS os or something else?  Thanks!

Oh and here is an interesting write up for the guys who have Red beta units, and want to help the stability with dualmining.  The beta unit MCU, (GD32F103C8T6) the newer gold units have a STM32F103C8T6 MCU.  I found a post from cybtc on how to upgrade the beta units to the new chip.  I just received the STM32F103C8T6 MCU that I ordered from ebay and will report back if the transplant was successful and if it fixed the dual mining stability problems with the Red beta units.

Here is the link:http://cybtc.com/thread-6262-1-2.html

Guys quick question for those with the Brown/Blue/Green & Yellow Power cables,

On asiabtc diagram in the guide (also pic on first post) he has the following:

Ground: Green/Yellow
N: Brown
L: Blue

In everyone elses pics I see

Ground: Green/Yellow
N: Blue
L: Brown

Which one is correct and why is the one in the guide different?

There's theoretical difference, but in practise it does not matter how you plug those two wires... both way will work.

Yeah, if it were DC it would be very important, but with AC it matters little in this application.

I paid via BTC on the 11th and I just had DHL drop them off.  The box and components were in very good condition considering they came from China (A+ packaging).

I'll hook them up tomorrow morning and post some photos.

I'll be the first to say that I am a linux noob,  the one step that held me up was installing the libraries.  These might not be entirely right but its from memory, and remember I am very new to linux but I'll try to help.  I am using Raspbian.

To install cpuminer:

Terminal root:
 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev autoconf automake
 git clone https://github.com/gridseed/usb-miner
 cd /home/pi/usb-miner/software/cpuminer
 sh ./autogen.sh
 sh ./configure
 make && make install

[wait till done installing, then plug in you usb miners]
 dmesg
[find and copy down the names of your USB miners,  they should look like (ttyUSB0) and so on.
 sudo nano /home/pi/usb-miner/software/cpuminer
[this is a text editor]
minerd --freq=850 -G /dev/ttyUSB[Number for usb device] [if more then one miner write -G before each] --url= [poolurl:port] --userpass=[user].[worker]:[password]
[CTRL+X]
[Y]
[name the file [whatevername.sh]

Now run the file that you just saved.

sh ./[name of file .sh]

Should be off to the races unless I missed some step above, I am a noob but with the help from others I figured it out, this if for CPUminer which you can run scrypt pools.  Need cgminer installed to run SHA-256 coins, which is also in the software folder you downloaded.  If when trying to compile you get an error like missing lib something, type ldconfig while in the directory.

EDIT: There is also a installation how to in the https://github.com/gridseed/usb-miner/tree/master/software/doc , folder.

Don't know why some people are having problems. So far I am very happy with them.

I do notice dropouts every now and then but they seem to restart quickly and overnight my average hash rate reported on the pool was at 4200 KH/s (even with dropouts).

A firmware update would be nice if it helps to stabilise them however currently my units are averaging well above advertised hash rates.

Same got all my issues sorted. Realized i had a broken TP link. Currently running 19 miners off 1 TP-link with decent results. I think it just restarts more often :/

I am getting over 7 mh with 19 units.

I had one of these in mind before i even got the units.(12.95 at walmart)

I am gonna condense it more in the morning when im not so tired. Gonna use zipties etc...

It will basically be form factor aside from an extension cord coming out of it.

I'm having a heck of a time compiling this in Windows.  Does anyone please have a link to a precompiled zip file for Windows?

Did the following variations on one controller:

5 miners wafflepool (multi coin, diff fixed at 512)
10 miners wafflepool (multi coin, diff fixed at 512)
5 miners drillbit (ltc pool, vardiff)
10 miners drill bit (ltc pool, vardiff)
800, 850, and 900 mhz

Other than mhz, I did not see any material difference in hashing speed, nor reduced reboots

Mine seem to be running very well.

I set them up last night and they've been running for 12 hours now without issues (uptime on screenshot is because I made some changes).  I haven't had to power cycle any of them, etc.

The setup was pretty quick and painless, though it is a lot of wires.

I put them underneath my workbench and they're humming along nicely.

Thanks Jack!  I'm really happy with them.

Well, it's 10 fans so there is definitely going to be some noise.  I would say it's as loud as if my video card fan was running at 2500+ RPM.

I wouldn't want to keep them next to my bed, but it's a low background white noise.

It's the equivalent of a small room fan on low?

Well... lets just say.. my gf was "what the fuck is that noise in the closet!?" .... Smiley - 10 fans running like that will generate some noise yeah. I just bought a 110mm diam grey PVC tube. Gonna have a go at doing some stuff tomorrow creating some sort of wind-tunnel. Will report back
