Super noob question, What is PoS and what does it stand for? Also i don't have a cash coin wallet (tbh, i don;t have any wallets for any coins whatsoever:D), i only have 88 coins in craptsy, do you guys recommend creating an offline wallet? (downloading gigabytes of blocks is too much for my net speed), What are the benefits of creating a wallet other than safety? Thanks in advance.

CASH is currently only about 60MB. The older coins with more transactions have bigger blockchains (because they hold more transactions).

If you're only trading, then you should have PoS wallets for coins that you have and wish to hold (to gain the interested) and a bitcoin wallet (use multibit, no need to download blockchain as it's a lite-wallet). Don't just leave all your coins on an exchange, if the exchange disappears (like Gox) then you're screwed.

For the longer blockchain's you only need to download it once, after that it's just added to and only a really poor connection will cause you problems (<512Kb) and potentially CPU usage if your computer's old and crap like mine.

Panda cost a lot of folks a lot of money (not me, not falling for cheap knockoffs) and right now MINT, KARMA, FLAP and even CORGI are getting a lot of hashing simply due to being low price coins.

Work is being done behind the scenes on CASH, it is not a coin to day trade now, but with low hashing power, probably the best coin to mine for next month.

The 18k sell order at 1200 yesterday really cost some of us a bit, but .. just means can gather up more coins. Beauty of CASH is the daily pay doesn't really change for miners, lower diff, straight away you get more coins. Unlike oh-so-many other coins where you pay for switching pools who came in pumped the diff 100x, and fuked off leaving you to mine until they come back again and take your lunch.

 Wink

Coinmarket Cat prowls once again.

Everything's dying slowly dumbass. The sun, the universe, you, me, the internet, Google...

Best proof I've ever seen for a coin 'dying', a few REALLY early days of decreased trading. Yep, I'm convinced. Donating all my coins to the faucet and heading over to DOGE because there's lot's of trading on that over-hyped, over-priced ltc clone!

<facepalm>

they got hashing because of their publicity, people know about them and supply hashing and volume, but no one knows about cash and it's slowly decaying. Now it isn't profitable in any way, only if it'll get pumped hard

Maybe it is a firewall issue, how can I check which port needs to be opened?  Roll Eyes

Then stop CPU mining it. It's just as profitable currently as all the top coins on coinwarz for me.

Anyone new coming here and seeing the above quotes, please disregard them, they're not true. except awareness which we're working on and it's coming.

Dude, you need to point out that you're using *nix, otherwise people will assume you can find the answer in this thread somewhere. It's been answered so many times for windows.
I can't help, I've not put a wallet on nix yet, all I can say is that with the cash.conf in the OP I get the usual 8 node connections and syncs fine.
Were there no errors in the compile, I can only imagine it's that or as you ask, a firewall issue, but that would effect other wallets too you have.

Does anyone know how to set up minting while encrypted? I've never used a PPC based coin before. Any guides out there would be much appreciated!

In the wallet go to help, debug, console and type

walletpassphrase xxxxxxxxxx 99999999999 true

Where xxxxxxxxxx = your pass phrase and 99999999999 = time in seconds it is unlocked

It will automatically lock again when u close your wallet. I think with this if u send coins u will still need to put in pass phrase but haven't tested it

no luck :\
So how am I supposed to get this working under Linux...
It was exactly time to unlock in order to min the PoS interest... Old wallet was just working fine but was giving the warning about old checkpoint. Then I was told to download the new one but it is not updating at all.
Dev ?

Dev ?

You done the cash.conf on WINE?
Does WINE work well with wallets? (I've not tried so it's an honest question).

where is my stake?

I'm wondering the same at present, should have started 13 hours ago for me. I'm waiting another 12 hours before I get concerned increase it's P.C.M instead, but I see you have older coins that really should have kicked in.
I don't know how they're displayed, it's all a bit up in the air. Whoever HAS received their stake, could you screenie like Zidansz (trimming whatever you'd prefer not to share) so we know what to look for and/or dev let us know what to expect.

EDIT:

Just spotted the staking occuring, post to follow with screenies, times and any other useful information I come up with while writing the post.
Post link It's only a few posts down

don't pump or even start pump until already on coinmarket cap.... also let's us have a bit more time to mine without everyone crashing in.

When do you think that will happen? What's the current market cap?

~$62,000 when I checked a few hours ago.
There are 1,011,417.24973700 total coins as of right now. You can look up current price.
