homestead RC1 is out

is that mean mining will stop completely soon ?

The interview with Zamfir I linked to earlier suggested PoS roughly a year from now.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

This reminds me of paycoin XPY scam at this time, all ETH offers is a bus ride for the whales to manipulate the price & rip BTC out of the idiots......I have sold my ETH & have no wishes to return to buying them ever again.....no matter how cheap they may be.

Crypto is just a game for the rich to rip off the poor...anyone involved in ETH should be ashamed of this project its not going to work...as for a valuation of $10 like some have quoted its got no chance at all

My be the DEVS should call Josh Garza may be he could think up some good news to pump the price he was rather good at giving out Bull Shit to pump & then dump his coins

I love coming back to posts like these a few years out...for posterity!

Confirming Grin a newly announced partnership with Slock.it, a tech company working on smart contracts based on ethereum’s functionality, including “a smart contract that allows users to rent the station, put up a deposit, charge their [electronic] car, then get their deposit back.”, a representative of RWE stated:

“We are looking into improving the [electronic vehicle] charging customer experience while reducing infrastructure costs from many different perspectives by the use of smart contracts. We will eliminate backend systems, reduce system complexity and establish an open[ing] for entirely new charging use cases for all kind of electric vehicles.”

RWE, a gas and electricity provider with 30 million customers and billions in revenue revealed to Blockcy that they are taking a keen interest in utilizing smart contract technology to save costs and increase convenience for their customers.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/augur/ wow
afaik this is the first ETH dapp token on cmcap, soon slockit and my fav plutus will follow.  Eventually there will be hundreds (thousands) eth dapps....i think this could be the end for most btc style altcoins, that offer promises that mostly never happen and are just speculation pnd's. With the dapp system the creator must first make the idea work before it gains any value.  Smiley
Also the more dapps, the better for ETH long term as all the dapps need ETH to survive so they can operate. Wink
imagine if all the alts never had their own blockchain and  relied on btc blockchain , btc would be worth 100x more today.

I'm too bullish. This is when Buffett told me to be fearful.

That is right. I think the Ethereum could go to $100 or more in the future. But not in the next year or two.

All this ETH excitement is totally jacking up the global hash rate. Sad

I mean I guess it's good for the security of the network and all but...

It is now to mine this coin profitably. But the difficulty is rising fast. It might not be profitable next month.
