I saw some guy posted about an upcoming ethereum fork.
What do guys think the impact of the hard-fork will be will we see a surge in price?
Can you care to elaborate? Why a fork? A contentius fork like btc-bch or just a useless fork? Or we're talking about constantinople's fork which is just an upgrade? Don't know much about the fork coz there's not much information about it. All I know is the hard fork is called ethereum zero and scheduled to take place on 19th Jan. Correct, Etherzero is on schedule for the 19th and we are already seeing an increase.  ETH just his $840 again and slowly climbing. |

Eth now 821 on coinbase this second, going to be a good year, you know what they say
How you behave on the first day of the year is how you behave the rest of the year more or less
If that Jan 19th split of eth zero is real it said 10% of eth 1 to 1 so it's like getting a free $82
So I suspect if true $82 /1000 is 8.2% return so wouldn't pro money bid us up to 1000 sooner because of

Why do you think that ETHZ will cost 10% of ETH? That will be a different coin, it may cost 1%, 2%, 5%, 10%, whatever. There is no obligation from ETHZ to pay $82 for each coin. |

I only said 10% as the best case scenario, you are correct it could be less but bitcoin cash is more than 10% of bitcoin isn't it so it's not unreasonable to expect eth zero to be worth $84 bucks or so as of right now

Bitcoin cash is supported by miners and has a real use. Who will use ETHZ if all tokens will be hosted on ETH chain? How can you expect 10% if even much more popular ETC costs only 3.5% of ETH? |

Bitcoin cash is supported by miners and has a real use. Who will use ETHZ if all tokens will be hosted on ETH chain? How can you expect 10% if even much more popular ETC costs only 3.5% of ETH? Maybe it's 2% I don't know fees too high for dapps right now eth zero seems to be targeting dapps with low fees near 0 and thousands of transactions per second instead of like 15-20 we'll see . I assume Casper does all this when eth releases july 4th ish I hope otherwise fees will start rising a lot like bitcoin did. |

It looks like 2018 will be the year for Ethereum. People like the network because it is fast and relatively easy to create tokens. It is exciting to see what developments will happen this year.

I think the fact that Ethereum and Waves announced the creation and development of joint projects good will affect the price of these coins. Expect at least 1200$ in the next 3 months.

Ethereum has gains of 14% in the past 24 hours. It broke over $900 a few hours ago and reached a record high of $914 according to CoinMarketCap.com. ETH is still holding at $880, a rise of 90% from its trading level of $465 at the beginning of December. Ethereum has a current market capacity of $85 billion.

As soon as the rallying point of Ethereum continues it will reach the price of a thousand dollars per ether. As so many p2p businesses are lining up for launching, those projects that are already running and can already see the fruit of their labor continuously need gas to sustain the operations of their respective projects.
