another suggestion:

DAY+1 Update!

First of all, thanks you all for using Betarigs, I really didn't expected so much the very first day for this brand new beta service Cheesy
90 rents, 157 Rigs, 210 users!

Status
  • Night went overall OK on the server side. Auto-rebooted a few times around 20-22 UTC, so with the 5 minutes switch times of Cgminer, renters lost around 1 hour or rent. BUT, meanwhile, the rig owner mined their own pool. So to compensate, I'll be adding one extra hour to all ongoing rents! So renters get what they expected, and leasers still rent the planned amount of time.
  • Rig owners: Please consider using sgminer over cgminer: There is only a 1 minute pool switch time instead of 5 in cgminer. And if you don't feel confortable switching, you can alter the source code of cgminer, it's one line of code only.
  • Server got marked as spammer: Not sure how mails went tonight, but I got a mail from my hosting company; will have to check that. Meanwhile, check your spam folders! It sometimes goes there from what I can read.
  • <Worker is not authorized> Some of you may occasionally see that on their cgminer output: I'll be working on fixing that today.
  • JSON key 'data' not found You will see that on your cgminer output, and that is normal! It's Betarigs abruptly closing the connection because there is no job.

Some initial thoughts having added 10 of my rigs for lease:

1) Having the ability to sort by BTC per MH/s and also by KH/s capacity of the rig is a must. Good rates are being lost at the bottom of the list with the default sort order being by date and time added. Sorting by speed is also a must-have IMHO as someone wanting to dip their toe isn't likely to want to lease a high powered dedicated rig. OTOH someone wanting to quickly lease double-digits MH/s of capacity isn't going to want to lease a bunch of single card 600-700KH/s rigs.

2) I would also personally ditch the list of newest rigs on the home page as at first glance it gives the impression that it's the list of rigs available for rent. I know, people should read, but they don't.

3) Adding and managing 10 rigs was/is painful because there's no consolidated list of my rigs anywhere. The interface needs a "My Rigs" link or button when a provider is logged in.

4) Requiring a different BTC wallet address per rig was also time consuming. Allowing the same BTC address for rigs under the same username would make life easier.

Overall I have to say that this service ROCKS and will leave leaserig in the dust from a provider point of view, moreso if the above changes were made. No way I would give anyone API access to CGMiner configs that have taken countless hours of tweaking. The intermediate pool idea is fantastic. Hopefully you will add servers in the U.S. and Asia soon.

One last thing: it might be worth mentioning to renters that using vardiff pools is a good idea given that everything goes through an intermediate proxy. One of my rigs is being used for DOGE on a pool with a static work diff of 64 which is far from efficient.

+1, just what i was about to suggest:)

Change...is in the air.

Still no confirmation email Sad

I've tried 4 registrations using 4 different email providers...
No email received for any of them.

Tried forgotten password process, no luck with that either.

I gave it a try and so far so good. I rented one rig for 24h to try it out. Hashrate looks stable after 10-15 mins. It took altogether 27 minutes to transfer BTC from Cryptsy to betarigs.com (including one confirmation) and activate the rig.

Looks like you rented my rig  CryptoHasher #100, Let me know if you have any issues.

It looks good from my side. Where is your rig located? I pointed to a pool in EU.

And how is your cgminer looking - how many rejects, what real hashrate? Is it stable, any problems?

It would be great if you could send me a screenshot of your cgminer (I will send you my email). I am curious how it looks from the rig owner point of view.

--------

I rented another rig (Mining rig #88 Dragons Den) and directed to the EU pool. If the owner is here please let me know how it looks from your side? It hasn't swiched yet to my pool, so can't tell more about this rig yet. This time it only took 9 mins to get BTC confirmed after sending from Cryptsy.

Where is your rig located? Cgminer screenshot would be great!

Feature suggestion: it would be good if rig owners put their rigs' locations.

Can someone explain how to change to pool switch time for CGminer?

Renters,
please choose your pools wisely. I leased my rig two times. The first one got %20 rejects which is not efficient for the renter. First I thought that it is because the middle pool but the same guy rented my rig again now and I am getting ~ %0 rejects. So the middle pool is working fine. Please consider the location of the rigs when choosing the server of the pool you mine.

Ok first (ridiculous) test payout!

https://blockchain.info/tx/c1d940110fb290882c0199604be191bab9aa3d352ff1686e00195bc3a620fa2a

Testing with 2 rig owners. Finalising semi-automating the system.
Once I'm ok and transactions are correctly recorded, I'll do the 30 remaining payouts this morning.
Taking a 0.1% fee for now to handle all the little small change for transactions fees and such. (Remember, I'll switch at some point at probably 2%).
