I want to rent and set --keccak algorithm. Is that possible?

I want to use --keccak  not --scrypt. Can you support it ?

Hey, my rig BunnyFarm supports keccak-based mining: http://www.betarigs.com/rig/806

A renter requested I mine MaxCoin for him last night, and since then he's been happily hashing at 2081MH/s on my rig, proxying through betarigs just fine.  Smiley
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Ticket #777640

Almost a week, no response to ticket!!!!

You got 2 answers on this ticket, one one week ago, one today -- refunds of rent payment not recognized (wrong amount, etc) will be, as promised, this week end. Tomorrow I'm making the system to efficiently process these tickets; and tomorrow evening, I'm making the refunds.

Mux, I'm the owner of Rig #631. This rig has not yet been built, but I went ahead and set it up in Betarigs so that I could just "flip the switch" to "Rig is Ready to Rent" and be all set.

Last night I went back in and reviewed my pricing, and also added three more rental time periods...3 hour, 6 hour, and 12 hour. I did not change the status indicator at all.

Imagine my surprise when the rig still hasn't even been built yet, and I get an email saying that the rig has been rented. WTF? Apparently when I edited my rig last night, Betarigs bugged out and decided to flip the flag to "Read to Rent" even though I never touched that option at all. Even worse, there is no "cancel rental" or "refund money" option, so what am I supposed to do for my renter?

I understand your site is in beta mode still, but this impacts my reputation. Can you please institute a fix?

This sucks! It also hurts the site overall because people look at it as being that the site can't be trusted either, =/.

Definitely get this cleared up.

I would just like to say that sucks that this happened but this is not the place for new builds. This is the place for solid rigs that have a proven record of solid mining, so the people leasing rigs get what they pay for. I would never put a new build up for rental even if I built 10 rigs identical to it . Wait till its stable then list it so you know what it hashes at and can offer a solid rig.

Hello,

First of all, you have the option right now to communicate with your renter and to tell him that it was a mistake and you agree to a refund -- and then please open a ticket and I'll process the refund to the customer.

According to logs, your rig connected for the first time at 2014-02-08 20:23:43 UTC. If you used the "Rig not available for renting" option, then it would be marked as "down for maintenance". If you didn't, then it became available for rent as soon as the rig connected. And indeed, someone rented your rig at 21:44 UTC today.

That being said, there was a hidden way for users to rent a rig marked as "down for maintenance" -- but it was hidden, and it would be weird for a user to rent a rig marked as down for maintenance. So it could indeed be my fault if a user used this hidden way. Anyhow they cannot any longer.

Cheers!
Mux

How often are payouts to rig owners made?

Somewhat random. I get 2-3 payments a day usually, depending on how long the contracts are for.

Been using this service for a few days - both renting out my rigs and renting some extra hash power when required.

Very happy with the service - no problems what so ever other than 1 of my own making. I forgot cryptsy deduct the TX fee from the payment, so i didnt pay enough for the rig i wanted to rent so had to send a second payment. I raised a support ticket and got the first payment refunded without issue.

When renting my rigs out, Ive found payment to be without issue - yeah they dont come through the second the contract ends, however i didnt expect them to.

At the moment all of my 3 rigs have just been rented for 24 hours each.

Mux...is there anyway to test if your rig is able to connect to your pool?  My rig number is 862 and I can't see it as being available for rent when it is (as far as I know).  Thanks for any help you can offer.

My config file...

The site says it's always "offline".

When I was building my rig, I ran it for a bit with one card as a test...and the config file did have the betarigs info. So when betarigs saw my rig connect, it assumed that I was good to go and marked it as available?

hey, a general info /warning if you are using e.g. SGMINER or newer forks!

there seems to be a bug in some miner forks with pool management, that hinders the miner from switching to the primary pool (betarigs).

If a rent is over, the primary pool (betarigs) will disconnect and become unavailable.
now the problem in the miner seems to be that if it cannot reconnect within xxx time (1-3 hours?), it will somehow disable the primary pool
that way, if the rig gets rented around that time (it shows available in betarigs), the miner will not go to betarigs pool anymore but stuck on the secondary/Backup pool

since I switched to a recent SGminer with xIntensity I am facing that problem.

So just check if you are seeing that as well. if not (what miners are you using?)

I believe this is your problem.

If you didn't choose the "Rig in maintenance mode", then yes, that was happened.

This is very very usually because the customer pool is unstable -- got a ticket from him, looked into it, and that was the case.
Betarigs is acting as a proxy, so if your rig don't switch / often disconnect, it's because the target pool is unstable.
