I was also 6-7 blocks until payout ~3 days ago. I think you should also expect another 3-4 days until you get your payment Smiley

not too small, it does not affect payout queue. you should calculate how much you will be payed after ~7 days and set you personal config on Eligius to pay out that ammount as minimum - no queues then Smiley

if you look at top of the current queue: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/payoutqueue.php

You see that at very top there are people who have not been payed for 6-5 days, so if you at this very moment would have not been payed for 7 days (i.e. it would now be a week since you last got payed), then you would be payed as soon as next block was found and you would be in front of all those people who have not been payed for 6-5 days.

So in other words - if you set out to be payed every, lets say 0.08-0.1 BTC, you would have to wait for that amount to be earned for longer time, but would get payed without waiting in queue.
In average it does not change anything, you would still be payed every 6-7 days if you have configured it or not, but only difference is psychological, you would know, that when you have 0.08-0.1 BTC after 7 days, then you would be payed instantly.

I had thought the same, but, nothing is out of the ordinary really.  Eligius's infrastructure is up and responsive, nothing unusual... just a bit of crap luck combined with a lower overall network hash rate percentage over the past couple of months.  Eligius is hovering around 5% of the network these days.

Namecoind is acting up due to some unusual transaction activity causing high CPU usage, but that has no effect on the bitcoin side of things... our namecoind is not even on the same physical servers or network as the rest of the pool.

Anyway, all is well on the bitcoin side of things except lady luck (7-day luck is at 78% Sad  )

Many miners over at p2pool have been reporting the same issues with NMC as well, good to know it's all separated.

I went ahead and sent a small donation to the stats donation address. I've been mining here for 2 years and it's my first (shameful).

Plus, don't forget - bad luck lasts days, but good luck is often over before you notice it.

Yeah we all tend to notice the negative side of things while the good stuff passes right by as if cloaked.

Variance has not been in our favor so we’re due nobody hop or you'll regret it...

this pool just struggles... large miners leave because they can't afford the variance.
I was speaking with some miners at a recent conference and most start here but leave. Sad
so it looks like this pool just can't reach a higher rate to smooth out some of the variance.

The reward system irons out the variance as much as possible, unlike PPLNS pools and related reward system pools.

Eligius is around 5% of the network, and while not a huge amount, is still average of 8 blocks per day, so, variance isn't really that huge.  At one point Eligius was over 25% of the network, and while we haven't lost any hash rate since then really, the big farms seem to continue to grow and push the percentage of the network of all of the original pools down...

Eventually all of the original pools combined will probably be only a small percentage of the network.
