I've been mining with Nicehash for a while now using Eligius.  Eligius don't give miners the option to set difficulty but this has never been a problem until now.  Suddenly my orders have all crapped out because it says the difficulty is 127.9980. 0.002 short of the minimum.  Why is this?  Something sounds a bit fishy?  Is there an issues between Eligius & Nicehash???

EMail Nicehash/Westhash.  I agree it is a bit coincidental that after I posted my message about the odd payouts that suddenly Westhash doesn't work.

We've suggested before that Eligius up the minimum starting difficulty past 128, but Wiz doesn't seem to be interested in doing so.

M

The bot is back working as normal again.  Looks like it restarted overnight.  Must have been a glitch.

I think Westhash fixed it.  It no longer says 128 is the min difficulty, it says 127 is.

M

I mine at Kano's Pool because it pays the best and is completely transparent!  Come join me!

Thankfully the difficulty is at 8191.8750.  As long as I keep the wallet topped up there's no reason for it to stop.

I had been an loyal user of another pool.  The slim profit margin now has me here at Eligius.

I record my estimated total BTC daily and have listed my daily estimated mined.  This seems to be at a variance from the Eligius shown estimated earnings.

With the recent long blocks the estimated earnings dropped by .001 or more as one would expect, lower earnings with long blocks.  But I see that my estimated earnings, down the last couple of days to 25% lower than the daily estimated earnings figure derived from today's minus yesterday's, tho low from the long blocks, has been consistently lower all along albeit by less a margin than recently.

This would seem to indicate that the 3 hour hashrate estimate of daily earnings is inaccurately high even with shorter blocks.

Is this due to rejects perhaps?  I've been experimenting with increased efficiency and have to wonder if the effect is worse than I understand.

So if there's a 24 hour block and at 20 hours the user moves to another pool, on hour 23 his shares are dropped?  At hour 24 all users only have shares from the last 3 hours?

So, daily earnings based on three hour hashing rate is only true if the average block solving time is 3 hours?  I see.  Right now the average block solving time is 5.58 hours.  So,  the daily rate at 3 hours is 54% high? (3)(100)/5.58=53.76%

Then to get a true estimate of our daily earnings we should take the daily earnings based on 3 hours and multiply by .5367 to get an accurate estimate?  (Statistics aren't my strong suit so I'm asking.)

if i understood correctly again the three hour drop is inherently part of the Bitcoin network, maybe Luke or Wiz will chime in and correct or explain.....

Shares are not discarded.  Ever.  That's where the 100% PPS comes from.  The other 5% comes from NMC.

On unlucky rounds, shares are "shelved" (saved for later).  On lucky rounds, they are pulled off the shelf and credited.

The reality is, because of stales, it comes out a little under 100% not including NMC.

Exactly what problem are you having?  Nicehash have dropped the minimum difficulty to 127 to address the issue with Eligius minimum.  If it just keeps saying connecting are you sure you've got the right details?  Can you post a screenshot?

I'm very sure it just dropped it and cancelled the rental . when i tried to test it it took two trys. it timed out for the first try . if I use MMR  or betarig no issue .or my own miners in my house . IVe been using westhash here sense the Jan 2015 when some one said give it a try . till now no issue .I'll check back later i also notice westhash has been in red for the  bonus for a week or two i check it every day . SO i  use Bitcoin Affiliate till i see westhash go to 1 % or higher for bonus farming .

I use my own miners and nicehash.  Have you tried using the bot? Keeps changing the price so you get the best deal.  Only uses small amounts of BTC and tops it up automatically.  I used to use Betarigs & MMR but Betarigs turned out to be scammers and MMR had reliability issues.

When are the shelved shares paid? there were many lucky rounds but my shelved shares are pending since 20+ days or so.

As of last block:    0.00000000 BTC   95.88% (shares rewarded)

Haven't a clue.  Don't think there's a definitive answer.  Mine went down to a similar level, now they're up to 99.58%.

Shelved shares are paid out last in, first out so the old shares are much less likely to ever be paid out. The pool needs to have a long stretch of sustained good luck to make it very far back in the shelved share queue.

I read about it but i think its not a good concept. Because last in first out in case of shelved shares is pushing older shelved shares much more back and hence leave them behind forever. This concept should change to oldest shelved shares to be paid first and it makes sense.
