There can be many reasons. Firstly, many people have a bad product or no one needs it. Secondly, many iso are all bad with marketing and promotion. Also, most of the original scam

I know a real project, they do not achieve soft-cap. So I think they fail, but they are listed on the Coinbene. I wonder if this is an ICO project failure or not, as many ICOs have soft-cap but only on small exchange.

have being studying some ico this year they are failing , what are the causes of there failure
In general, most of the ICO from the very beginning is an scam. Only the crypto became popular,on this market immediately climbed a large number of scammers, lovers of light money. They beautifully pack their idea and then evaporate with our money. And so, the largest number of successfully completed ICO was in 2016, and then quickly went down.

ICO's fail due to lack of advertisement or capacity to promote and sell their coins during initial stage. There are some ICO's failed due to not reaching the market cap set up in ICO initial stage, means, they have set up a higher target to achieve than their project capacity is another reason for failure. There are some projects which have winded up after ICO ended due to not able to collect the required fund to run their crypto business.

i think it is just not a good time anumore to start an ico or crowdfunding , last year was the best time to hold an ico because a lot of people just wanna invest without knowing where they invest in , people are now holding there money for better times or invest in coins/tokens

I have watched some ICOs before. By the time of 2017 and the ICO at this time. I have a glimpse of some recent ICO fiasco:
- Hurry and do not develop the beta of the product in time.
- The project development team has no experience or disagreement on perspective and strategy in the next steps.
- Conflict of interest or they have no link with partners to promote marketing and advertising.
Of course, exclude fake and scam projects.

there are many factors such as incompetent teams for projects, divided teams, teams being greedy or fraud etc., so it is one of the factors that determine ico's failure.

Many projects save on bounty campaigns, allocating few coins. And nobody knows about their project. As a result, they do not collect enough funds.

It can be assumed that today people really hope to see the beginning of pumping money, because they are very tired of the fact that bitcoin is constantly falling. Do you think that this is normal? I also hope that this year we will still see a pumping

The most common reason for the failure of ICO is that they were fraudulent. The goal was to trick people and raise money, not create a new product. Learn to choose the right ICO.

Now there are too many projects on the market, and not all of them are  good , I'm not talking about the scam. Even for a good project can be difficult to collect investments. And if the project is weak then it is almost impossible.

if I think ico fails because the team does not have a good dev team, the failed ICO is the performance of those who do not have a marketing strategy that leads to not reaching the target fund for a project they established, so they do not reach softcap is a big problem of some ICO , do not reach softcap can not start their project, and they have no fee for promotion, let us see the successful ico and succeed, they have a good team, promotional advertisement installed in many places.

Some ICOs failed due to there Non unite and less efficient team, when the marketing strategy is low, there's no possible way to raise the required cap.

closing start-ups is the norm for any industry. it is logical that the strongest survive. If the investor plans to hold the tokens for a long time, it is necessary to evaluate the long-term strategy. it is important to pay attention to projects that are working to avoid such mistakes as technical dysfunction, reassessing their knowledge and skills in the field of blockade and programming. the next potential mistake is the incorrectly chosen geographic niche, which conceals the danger of project failure. further - a weak idea and the inability to apply the token in practice or simply its uselessness.

The reason why most ICOs fail is that most developers/entrepreneurs do not pay any attention to these:

Cryptoeconomics. (market strategy)
Utility (usage, features and purpose)
Security.

The main reason for the failure of some ICOs is the incompetence of the team  to run and manage a successful project. I noticed that some developers or team lack  the technical know involved in bringing the project to an accomplished level.
Also, lack of proper planning. Some just run ICO without adequate planning.

In fact, the blockchain industry is promising and a little new. I see in most ICO projects at this time. Maybe their idea is good but the way of operating and implementing the routes has not been streamlined. At the same time, they are confident with the power and experience of the Devs team. But that, is evaluated from the community and investors. Not the promises. They lost faith in the project. Add to that, unfortunately. Investors at this sensitive time have absolutely no psychological stamina and they are impatient to wait for the project to perfect the product.
