If they set the price yes you're buying it, but if you're waiting to see what the bill is going to be without a price and agreeing to pay whatever before knowing I don't know what that transaction is called but the one making that commitment in my books would be termed a "fool".
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Ordered one for 1.45 BTC on feb 22, because site stated 'In stock', not shipping on feb 28. So yes, I do expect shipping on feb 24 or 25 at the latest.

Ordered and PAID on 16th of Feb 2014, still waiting for shipment notification. Site said if before 23rd they would ship out 24/25th. That DID NOT happen, which is disappointing as Bitmaintech is normally fast shipping. This delay will definitely slow my roll, maybe wait till they get under 1 BTC, 2 weeks and waiting here, UGH!

Does this thread get updated for the next round of S1 buys?

Sushi Review's website is showing stock at the same price and free shipping to me here in Canada. I'm obviously missing something about why the group buy is popular. Can someone kindly fill me in before I go running around like Sherlock Holmes looking for clues to the answer.

TIA.

Was same boat as you. The store is a front for processing payments from here and the store has either been sloppily copy pasta'd from somewhere else or just straight up DGAF about the content. False information on the website as already allowed phishers to make profits ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=470657 ) And the information between the twho sources (here and sushi-review) is often misleading or contradictory. If you buy a new miner, a lot of people say they come used but functional. But so far hosting with them has been a nightmare for me. x.x (I sent an email over 5 days ago with new worker info so I could merge mine NMC but so far not a single response. It's infuriating.)

I'm typically not a suspicious person but if selling something in an anticipated manner ceases to continue to be sold that way, I would either expect the seller to provide some information on his revised method of distribution where people would go looking for it i. e. here or notify them here that they are now taking orders through an extension of what they started here.

None of that occurred so my order went elsewhere. It's just professional house keeping.

The price of BTC has dropped so low yesterday one outlet set a rolling price where it fluctuates daily. The price of Antminer = 1.xx BTC     LOL

Yeah it was almost low enough one could possibly achieve ROI mining if it bounced back.  Grin

I'm not sure what the take is but US sellers of equipment in general set the price in USD of their wares and let BTC float. Bitmain seems to be willing to weather the storm and hold true to BTC without chasing the USD. Possibly they value the BTC as much as most of us do and don't look at the currencies short fluctuations as a big deal. If this is the case I respect their faith in the currency.

In the end the value of the equipment is how much BTC it returns so it's price should be directly proportional to the BTC and not the USD.

The site never once said they were shipping before Feb 28.(+/- 1 day) so I'm not sure why you would think that.

Just curious when it would be a good time to delete "sold out" from the thread title?

With these popping up all over it looks like Walmart's toaster production line was converted to building S1's.

No, site said 'In Stock' (like it says now..), and there was no mention of a (delayed) shipping date of feb. 28. Would not have ordered otherwise. Looked at Bitmain as well, and they said Feb.28. They are already shipping out now, and price drops every day a bit. So the Feb 28 shipment will be around 0.05 BTC lower.

Asked sushi about it, still no reply.

PSU is not a crap PSU as they are gold cert one.

Yes.  Tech reported some faulty Ants and it will be worked on

Thank you!!

Anyone else with hosted miners getting about 165 GH/s average instead of 180 GH/s?

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1DwdJkxjcQ8b4KYvnKvEkhWawA61SGghUE

They probably have hardware faults and need to be rebooted or powered down.  Sometimes a reboot won't correct the faults.  One of my ants was under-performing.  I checked it and it had faults.  I rebooted and the faults came back, crap.  I powered down, waited, then back up and all is good(and is still good).  You paid for the hosting so you should be able to contact them and have them check the fans, the temp, and have the host power them down and back up.  But, considering you had issues just getting them online, I wouldn't count on good customer service.  Give it a shot.

Also, they are probably using a crap power supply.  Voltage fluctuations could be causing the faults, if that is the actual problem. My ant's faults were caused by a split second power loss during a snowstorm where the lights dimmed.  After it occurred, I checked my ants and they stayed up and were still mining.  I checked my pool stats and one was under-performing.  That's when I discovered the faults.  If you can get the host to check your equipment and have them powered down and back up and you still have issues, request a power supply change.  You paid good money for the hosting, they should comply.

Else, try to get a refund on the hosting and have them shipped.  Good luck.

Sushi could you check this out for us?

Awesome, thank you sushi!

Did this get fixed for other members yet? One of my Ants has been at 165 ghs for about a week now. I have contacted him and it was acknowledged, but never fixed.

This has not been very good hosting to date. My units were to be overclocked (specifically asked about this) and it took over a month to have only have one of two OC'd. There has been lots of issues and downtime (downtime WAS compensated with extra ghs) and I now am trying to get my 2 units out of hosting but I am starting to get the run-around again, asking me for address and phone for shipping quote, hearing nothing, then "what's your worker name" and nothing again.

Sushi, send me my units please.

I'm really not trying to be a douche and I have zero affiliation with sushi other than being a customer but that simply is not true.  The web site and the thread were very clear about the ship dates...sushi even said something about needing a break.
And RIGHT NOW on bitmain's site...

New orders starting from 6:00pm BeiJing time on Feb 26th, will be shipped out on Feb 28th.

to follow up has anyone used credits on this site?

I would order more units once the two I have arrive.

I can most likely end up with 6 to 8 pieces .  I will just order 2 at a time.

   I do not think so.
simple reason is order the gear mine for 40 days then do a chargeback claim say the gear does not work.
get a full refund and 40 days of mining. multiply this by 10 or 20 orders and it is a lot of money.

Got an email from sushi:

Quote
SHIPPING DATE NEVER CHANGED ON MY SITE at sushi-review.com  it's been Feb 28th for the whole time....

The packages were sent already if not it would go out on the 27th, before the price drop takes effect...  Reduced price antminer will ship on Feb 28th

Thank you!

So I might be wrong about it, and the miner went from 'out of stock' to 'in stock'. Let's hope it's already sent, that would give me some opportunity to recover the price difference of 0.012 a day, as seen on the bitmain site (1.45 for shipping on feb 26, 1.438 for shipping on feb 27, 1.426 for shipping on feb 28)..
