… any ideas? I had the same problem with mine on OSX , here's a quote of how to solve … ... rename your MintCoin folder in %Application Data% and let the MintCoin app create a new one , then quit , drop your blockchain & wallet.dat file into the new one and start MintCoin again ... Perfect. That was it. Solved!Suggestion: Include a readme into the blockchain_2015_07_xx.7z-backup that states something like: When using this bootstrap, better do not recycle an existing MintCoin data folder, only keep your old wallet.dat. plus some step-wise instructions like yours above. Thanks, duplan. Give me your address, then I pass some of this on to you: Thanks, mommy ;-) Done, and works. Beautiful, kudos. Syncing as we speak; that will take a while. (-: Mf7wCiDe84QfG9SQgUkwTYxfYvpY2Rooua Thx!
Testing the new wallet - will send some mint away as soon as I can Thanks a lot, very kind. Have you seen how old my existing mint are?

This sentence exists already in the READ_ME.txt: Delete all files from %APPDATA% EXEPT your wallet.dat !!!!!! Is that it? If then sorry, I wasn't reading that file attentively enough. ... so again: Perfect. That was it. Solved!
Thanks a lot.

Sent! Happy Testing Received. Will do some more testing transactions. Works like a charm. No issues so far. Running on Win 8.1. Running the giveaway wallet on the wallet with no issues - sending / receiving / creating new address / etc... As soon as we get the green light from SupaSonic for testing we should be able to release to the exchanges. A big thanks to PressTab for this upgrade. Is there a blockchain source?, I'm having trouble downloading via the qt wallet. I've just spent 3 days downloading and it has corrupted at 80% (again) maybe due to windows vista 32bit?

How is progress on the new wallet coming along?
|
Stop Mining. Start Minting. Mintcoin [MINT] 5% annual minting reward. Mintcoins don't wear out like mining gear. They keep on minting!

Good - the fork version is ready for release to the exchanges - SupaSonic should have the other changes completed by the weeks end. Stay tuned!

We have come a long way. More to come. Patience.
Right now, We really need to make this mandatory wallet upgrade. Hopefully we can get the fork version released asap so we can get as many people as possible switched over as soon as possible. This will help ensure a smooth transition.
I am really looking forward to it, and also having it behind us. The upgrade will make mintcoin even more secure, which translates to more safekeeping and trust for holding bigger sums, which means higher prices to come, even vs Bitcoin.

FYI: Mint already has orphan issues, they are just not noticed as much, due to the fact that so few are staking 24x7 . For example at the moment only 3.2% of coin are staking, so your orphan rate is lower. Your staking rate changes daily and on days where you have over 10% staking your Orphan rate is higher. Easy test , start a new mint wallet and sync it from scratch when your staking rate is higher, you will notice it freeze up on blocks during the sync, check the debug.log file and you will see the orphan problem.
That's strange. Whenever I have looked over the network, it always seemed to me that during the times of highest difficulty, and highest staking rate, the orphans rate spiked down to the fewest orphans. This is what I mean: At this time, the it is up to 16% and the orphan rate chart is spiked down. Seems to me to be opposite of what you were saying kiklo. Just wanted to paint a visual.

Ok , I'll bite You do realize that currently most of the staking is 1 guy which is why your orphans are lower. Not really a lot of competition to orphan at the moment Staking Addresses 1 MpKoNedH...
