hi folks

i've just updated to the mac wallet but i can't run it properly
it crash ! with a message: error loading blkindex.dat

do i lost my MINT ? can you help me ?
what can i do ?

Did you backup your wallet.dat file?

...

no ...

fukin mavericks osx hides me my wallet folder and .dat

Yes, I believe Mavericks is different in many ways. Here are 2 ways to make it work that I use:

1. Open up finder, then up the top of the screen click on Go > Go to Folder, and type in ~/Library/Application Support
2. For a more permanent solution to showing the Library open the Terminal app and type < chflags nohidden Library > Now you can search for your wallet file in the finder.

I hope this helps. If not I will try to help you more if possible.
Thanks.

There is nothing to dezip on mac image file. Just double click to mount it and drag your wallet app to applications folder. Smiley

For files:

1.) Click the Finder icon on the dock
2.) press Command+SHIFT+"G" to "Go to the folder"
3.) Input "~/Library" and hit RETURN.
From there you can navigate to Application Support -> Mintcoin.

ok

you're right it was the hirocoin wallet that was zipped
anyway

i downloaded onyx a nice and smart app for osx
that allows you to clean and do some maintenance inn the os

it also permits you to see and "unhide" the hidden files /folders
so i saw a hidden library folder hidden in /user which
containts the application support folder and ... oh yes
my wallet folders !

the blkindex.dat file which causes the wallet crash is also here
along with a wallet.dat file

Yup! But don't throw anymore BTC at it. I talked to the guys on the IRC and they admitted they know the BC voting is being automated but they say there is nothing they can do about it.. But they said they would take this into consideration when they choose the winners.

Can anyone explain these issues to me? I would like to know what to do to fix this, so if it happens in the future, I can help other people.

What's new in 1.8?

What is the link to the irc channel?
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#rubycoin.org
Its accessible through the "Need help?" button at the bottom of their webpage.
I didn't originally post the log because I'm not trying to cause drama. I just don't want more people throwing money at any of the coins when that money is being completely trivialized by somebody else manipulating the system

Do we have to delete the appdata\roaming\mintcoin folder first then install the new wallet?

Should be ok if you were already synced up with 1.7.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the mintpal team for their donation towards Blackcoin's coinkite fundraiser:

I clashed swords with the mintcoin dev a couple of times but this really does make me humble that they would donate to the competition. Thank you

mintpal isn't associated with mintcoin in any way possible, the name just happens to be a strange coincidence

hi folks

i've just updated to the mac wallet but i can't run it properly
it crash ! with a message: error loading blkindex.dat

do i lost my MINT ? can you help me ?
what can i do ?

Did you backup your wallet.dat file?

...

no ...

Look for it on your home directory under:

 Library/Application Support/MintCoin/wallet.dat

First of all, save that file!!!!

that's normally what i do with lmy old macbook
but i have a new mac now with osx mavericks
and in library/application support there's no more mintcoin folder

i've dezipped the new wallet and simply drop it in the app folder
to overwrite the old one just like the hirocoin wallet i've just done before
( i checked my coins were there )
i must admit this is not my kind of methods but it's a friend of mine
who told me that ... he 's got a osx mavericks like me and just uptdated
the mint and hiro wallet like that with no problem ...

Good luck
Of course, no problem is the best
