Simple fact is do not trust any exchanges.

If i had lost any money with them I would certainly be reporting it. No update from them in days,  they have basically stolen the money,  why don't you all get together and report it.

Cryptsy seems legit, located in Delray Beach, FL.  At least they have a picture of their office building and an actual address, unlike BTC-e.

Unfortunately I am beginning to think this may indeed be the only option we have. I had great faith in this exchange and stuck with it for over a week of downtime depositing all my mining coins, seems I've lost about 10 days worth of mining now, around £80 which I accept isn't as bad as some but nevertheless still pretty rubbish...

The thing I don't understand, if it isn't legit why would it keep going up and down and allow some people to withdraw throughout this? I had plenty of opportunity to withdraw and perhaps foolishly decided to bear with it.

Hi all,

I just created a new user in this forum to say this:

Here is what I think has happened with CoinMarket.io. Their intentions were good from the very beginning. They set out to create a fast and reliable exchange. This was the case for many weeks and then they either noticed some suspicious activity or found some major bugs in their code.

As fast and as hard as they tried, they just couldn't fix the issue and are panicking right now. Their lead programmer either quit or is so overwhelmed that he too has no idea how to fix it.

As a career programmer, and now analyst, I can tell you that they are panicking and have no idea what to say to us. How do you say to the public you have no idea how to solve the issues?

I feel sorry for them. I also sympathize with the "victims".

My advice is to accept the loss. They may never come back.
I think you are right, I have some coins there 2 and there are kinda 3 ways for this:
1.The stole allready everything and we are buy-bye =))
2.They wanna come back big style like rush with many many coins and just keeping us with no breath(no info) and then when all will see that it's back and better will remain to trade there
3. They are over their head with the problems of the site and just don't know what to say that won't drag them even lower.
Have faith they can't go to mars yet with our coins.. so Patience always wins!

Well problem that faith is all what left... since i fear our coins gone already...

Damn 2 weeks.. they fooled us for 2 weeks. Poloniex fix problem and return to work in 1 day, yes we lost 12% btc but it working in 1! day after being hacked. So 2 weeks is just a joke...

Another overnight exchange bites the dust.

I do not understand why you all keeps funds in all these new exchanges. Exchanges like Cryptsy, Btc-e are fair enough but to trust these ones is surprising.

The losses should be less then. A few posts above somebody mentioned he put all his mined coins in there like using an online wallet. Thats just stupid.

The exchange guy was active yesterday. In case he does not turn up you all should take some legal action. Open a thread in the scam accusation board too and request the bitcointalk admins for the personal details.

It wasn't the intention of putting them there to store, but to trade. I had hoped the days of downtime were legit and once back up (promised a few times within a day) I would be able to trade them again. Annoyingly some coins can only be traded there, there are no alternative exchanges.

agreed,  this has truly crippled my mining operation.... I was literally just gaining some faith in coinmarket.io & happened to dump a lot of different coins there just before they went down Sad

The thing I don't understand, if it isn't legit why would it keep going up and down and allow some people to withdraw throughout this? I had plenty of opportunity to withdraw and perhaps foolishly decided to bear with it.

Don't sweat it. In snarl-ups like these, we all feel like fools in retrospect.

A couple of days ago, when Coinmarket flickered into life, I test-widthdrew 0.01 BTC: far less than the BTC I have there. The way I figured, 10mBTC was enough to lose if my withdrawal went a-vanishing like some others'. I had to wait for a second peek-a-boo uptime moment to click the confirm link, but my coin got through ASAP.

As the downtime continued, I felt like a bit of a fool for not withdrawing one full BTC or even my whole stash: then I could be using them instead of cooling my heels.

Of course, if my withdrawal had got eaten...  Wink
