@brammien. I will continue to quote myself if I have to. Wink

Self appointed is right. They are managing millions in a land grab. I and many others have concerns when a lot of money is at stake. I'm very upset about this foundation forming.

It has taken since the beginning of BC, starting from rat4 and Soepkip, to branch out and find the right members for this "foundation". This isn't something that just happened overnight. If you can't trust a group of people that over time (and without a premine or IPO to work off, meaning their own time and money)

1. Laid down the infrastructure to make BC relevant with its pools
2. Funded CoinKite (thanks for the help Mintpal)
3. Funded promos for the miners like Black Friday and KNC Titan
4. Done their own PR through Twitter, Reddit, etc
5. A sponsor in Dogecon SF
6. Started up Blackcoin Farm
7. Started Blackcast and showed their faces
8. Now starting a huge PR campaign (Foundation "officially" formed here, a good 2 months after BC was released and after they have provided the above)

I don't what else you want? Legal names, addresses, phone numbers, day jobs, and etc? Maybe that will soon come, I don't know. But I could certainly understand if some people are not willing to put their personal information here in crypto land, at least not this soon. After all, everyone keeps talking about BC is still a young coin (which it is). But I'm sure all of that will come with time.

If you want to get more involved, then get more involved. Nobody is stopping you. And simply posting on BTCTalk isn't going to accomplish that. If you're serious about being proactive, then do it. Go to Blackcointalk, and start a new project thread. Outline the details, costs, time frame, etc. Get Soepkip or other known members of BC on it. Expose it to these "foundation" members that may actually be able to fund it if they like it!

Hey guys,

I've been working on some kind of paper wallet. For people that want to hold large sums of BC in cold storage. Or people that are scared of getting hacked. It's just a small concept. Didn't spend to much time on it although Id like to share. Maybe you guys have some suggestions aswell.

It's basicly a envelop with keys inside. I'm still designing the inside paper.
You can slide the paper keys out of the envelop, like some giftcards have aswell. The "Amount" is a small window. So depending on what you put in the envelop shows through the window as amount.

With all that said I want to add that this is just the envelop. Perhaps I could make a template that you can download that fits the envelop's window and size so that you can print your own keys instead of handing them over to the distributor.

Without picking one above the other, IF and it is a massive contentious point for me, IF the PR projects will be open and transparent to the use of funds freely given by the community I do not see an issue with anyone's PR projects no matter how crazy they might seem.

However, if there is profit to be made for their time, then state this.
I do not think the majority of us care to much if the Dev, promoter etc gets paid for his time so long as it is fair, reasonable and proportional.

But big $$ projects need to be in some logical order.

PR needs to learn to walk before Run and it honestly do not consider $30K for just securing a PR companies support a good use of funds.

There is no way in a million years that a PR company can force news to happen.
The reason why (cheesy maybe) public stunts work is that they do get maximum coverage for the money involved.

I am sure we all have some ideas for PR, hell why don't you have a competition to pony up $10K funding to the best voted idea.

have a little trust in the community's ability to decide

BlackCoin Community Plan

As promised I came up with a basic plan that we all can build upon over time. I think as a community need to be on the same page to achieve our common goal to make BlackCoin  #1.
Before starting I was going to put this into a PDF and I decided to post it here so everyone can add whatever suggestions and comments to the plan. This is very long so please take a few minutes to read it.

Introduction:
Over the past few weeks this community has accomplished some amazing things in the name of BlackCoin, but lately we have lost focus on our main goal of making BlackCoin #1. Some of us have been conducting ourselves like juveniles on this forum, including myself. The first thing that needs to change around here is our decorum. We cannot continue to act the way we have been acting. There are some very talented and intelligent individuals here , and we do not have to attack each other to get our point across. We can have intense debates and still be respectful of each other. If and when trolls do enter our thread, we have to adopt a no tolerance policy. Do not quote them and kindly ask them to refrain from posting FUD. Do not aggressively engage or argue with them. This thread is key to attracting new talent and investors, and it needs to remain open but it also needs to remain fairly professional.

Mission:
Everyone keeps making the mistake of suggesting we can be the next Bitcoin. I do not want to be the next Bitcoin. In the eyes of the world Bitcoin doesn't exist. Yes we know about Bitcoin, and maybe 1 or 2 million people know about Bitcoin. However, if you ask 20 random people on the street if they know what Bitcoin is, I am willing to bet at least 19 of them would not have a clue what Bitcoin is. So although Bitcoin was the first, there is a very good opportunity to become the standard crypto-currency everyone knows and uses. There have been many examples in recent history when the first product to market is overshadowed by the newcomer because the newcomer had better marketing and branding.

Our mission is to strive to be the most recognized and used crypto-currency in the world.

Structure:
This is a hard one. BlackCoin is not a corporation and it will never be a corporation. It is a community funded project with many moving parts. However, it seems to have turned into a central organization with a community that has limited say. There are major issues with this approach but I will not address that now. Moving forward I propose we decentralize BlackCoin and turn it back into a community controlled project.

1. The development team focuses on development and the technical aspect of BlackCoin

2. The BlackCoin foundation focuses on supporting projects and whatever else they feel passionate about.

3. The community focuses on building the brand and handling the business side of BlackCoin. No one person or small group should decide the fate of BlackCoin.

I own the domain GoBlackCoin.com and we can turn that into a community hub for discussions, new ideas, projects, events,  and everything else related to BlackCoin. We can have tutorials, market info,...etc..etc. Senior members of the BlackCoin community can be admins and mods. it will be a complete social network for the BlackCoin community. I can have that up and running by mid June.

Technology:
The current BlackCoin client is based off the original Bitcoin client. We should begin to move forward with a more unique design that is tailored more for BlackCoin. Every wallet client is pretty much a carbon copy of the previous client with little differences here and there. It is hard to portray unique and innovative when the software for the wallet is similar in design to every other wallet.

Using BlackCoin at retail locations will be made easier using CoinKite, but I must admit I think cypto is going backwards with this approach. Using cards and terminals to make purchases is 20th century technology, and I have no idea why the currency of the future needs to use redesigned 20th century technology. Google has it right with their technology using an ordinary smart phone to make purchases.

We need to make it easier and cost effective for any merchant to accept BlackCoins without the hassle of extra terminals and cards. There are tons of locations that already support Google's technology, and maybe we need to tie into that network somehow.

Marketing & Brand Awareness:
We have already  proven that press releases have a positive effect on getting investors excited and garnering the attention of the crypto-community. But there is so much more we can be doing
a) Social media should be a top priority. We have members who have graciously offered to Tweet regularly and upload photos to Instagram. We must utilize every aspect of social media.

b) Events will be crucial to building brand awareness. The Wall Street event is just one example of how we need to be creative and think out the box. We need to sponsor small concerts, raise money for charities,  and sponsor high profile non-crypto related events

c) Traditional print ads in magazines is an option we will need to explore. Bitcoin placed an ad in Wired Magazine. That was a good idea but I would have opted for one of the financial magazines first. We need to go where the money is, and financial magazines is where we need to be.

d) Times Square billboard! Yes we need to go big! At this time it is not feasible to buy a billboard in Times Square, but as the marketcap of BlackCoin increases we can have a BlackCoin billboard in the middle of Times Square.

e) Radio is also an option we need to pursue. Radio is not expensive at all and can be effective with the right ad and audience.

f) Celebrity endorsements. A-list celebrities are expensive, but there are very popular celebrities that are not exactly A-list but have a huge following. Their fees are significantly less than an A-list celebrity but can be just as effective at making BlackCoin popular.

g) Sponsor poker tournaments and have the players paid in BlackCoin.

Infrastructure & Partnerships:
We have been very lucky to have been added to some of the top exchanges and services in such a short span of time. I think as a community we have been very effective in this area and we just need to keep contacting services and keep requesting they add us.

Coinbase is a Bitcoin only service but I think they are rethinking their position on that. If we can show how powerful and innovate BlackCoin is, maybe in the future we can convince them to add us.
Every time I send BTC to an exchange it takes a lifetime to  confirm. However, when you compare that to BlackCoin it seems almost instant. This is a major advantage and we need Bitcoin only services to understand Bitcoin is yesterdays technology.

Recruitment:
We need the most talented people onboard to help with this project. Talented and knowledgeable people are priceless, and we need to establish an environment that welcomes and nurtures talented people.
BlackCoin will succeed or fail based on the efforts of the community. Without a passionate and active community BlackCoin will slowly die like many coins before it.

in other news....

BLACKCOIN was doing great....

possible instability (mostly loud noise) seems to be thinning out buy pressure.
I see a possible retest of the 25k range looming unless we can bring back the optimism.
BTC price is on a short term rise= less buy pressure
bitcointalk is becoming a deterent = less buy pressure
BC is awesome=                        = we'll get over this

please lets get back to business as usual, I have seen this to many times already where egos erode the confidence in a good thing.

If your not actively using the technology behind your crypto investment,

not really, you have asked for donations and have just decided you will engaging the unknown PR company without any information about what they will actually do.
No information certainly means blindly following the PR team, and even though you might be nice guys - after that blackcast some need a few basic lessons in PR and image.

Throwing $10K of paper wallets (with say $25ea) off the top of some building in NY would probable yield more publicity.
Speak with Edu91 about securing his wallets - load them with $25 and get going Smiley

Why don you contribute something instead of sitting here typing in bold letters. What a joke-- I'm distancing myself from you, and I hope BlackCoin follows suit. You have no capacity to lead or develop, the last 50 pages of this forum can be put in to a book titled "How to not act like a businessman, and lose respect while doing it."

WOW...are you serious? I couldn't let this go unanswered. Attempts at trying to change history doesn't work when there is proof. I know I make you guys look bad but I also make you money so just say thank you and move on.

Here is what I have done for BC:

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/blackcoin-rolls-fantastic-features-value-071557419.html

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/blackcoin-popularity-value-soars-due-110915981.html

http://blackcoincard.com

https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com  <---I contacted them first and rallied the community to contact them. Confirmed by SoepKip in his response.

http://cointelegraph.com/post/blackcoin_s_smooth_and_sexy_nyc_charm_offensive

http://www.moneyandtech.com/development/tag/blackcoin-card/ <--Very nice video..a bit incorrect but who cares

http://www.coindesk.com/things-alt-ponzi-schemes-blackcoin-usbs-time-warp-attack/

Now besides the multi-pool, please post what you have done for this community.

So you basically managed to advertise your BlackCard a bunch? Wow such contribute.

I've said this many times before on there, your multipool is an accomplishment and done something, you guys get credit for this, but again and again does it matter if it's not marketed? This game of cryptos is about 95% marketing right now, and 5% projects. Those projects will only pay off when the marketing is done on them or over time. You guys don't get this, and I don't expect you to.

5% of your hard working efforts will only be noticed. You need to grasp that when your working on projects. Only once BC becomes LTC status of BTC status will your hard work have paid off and be noticed. It will be in time, but as of now it's about development that will take BC to next level, it's about marketing. We need both, and I commend you guys on this part, but your not businessmen and please stop this foundation, you'll kill this coin.

Btw. I want to add that this is just the envelop. Perhaps I could make a A4 template that you can download which fits the envelop's window and size so that you can print your own keys instead of handing them over to the distributor.

you can print/send encrypted key so there is no problem actually
just like these guys do https://woodwallets.io/bip38-howto/

This is why I don't like reddit.
Goddamn power hungry bunch of fags.

Spam detection from reddit. It was a new user. Posts have both been approved now + the user has been approved for posting. TheDoge reacted because he's a mod and can see the posts regardless.
