So we are going to be able to mine a lot more coins after 2600? Whats the point in that or am i missing something?

It stops Instamining and evens out the diff so that it's a 100% fair start to mining on the actual block sizes. Plus it gives people the chance to get setup if they missed the launch or could not be around for setup at launch. Given all the shit that went down with this coin in the first 6 launch attempts this 7th launch is actually a nice launch.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Spread the hash rate around and come and mine with the CrunchHarder GPUCoin Pool
for security, redundancy and stability.

Ok, for those who were here earlier when I couldn't get vertminer to work. I installed Windows 7 on a new hard drive. I ran vertminer, and it became blank, but there since to be some activity because the whole display has become slugglish.

I checked the pool, and I'm getting 7kh/s. That's really bad right? Considering that I'm using two 290x.

Basically try (shaders*n)+/- 1

So the 290x has 2816 shaders.

I would start with 22529 or 22527 which is n=8.  Go up or down from there until you are stable.

  Hope that helps.

We now have 4 small exchanges trading these coins and a Trading Thread with several sellers already posted, links to exchanges in the thread.

P2Pool: http://96.126.121.117:9404

What is P2Pool?

P2Pool is a decentralized approach to pool mining. Rather than connecting to a single pool, the system operates through the combined efforts of many miners who are attached to 'nodes'. No need to register a user account, and any blocks that are mined are split on a PPLNS basis. Biggest benefits? Massively reduced chance of DDOS (set up a few nodes) and coins are sent directly to your wallet.

How do I start mining?

  • Point your miner to: stratum+tcp://96.126.121.117:9404
  • Use your GPUCoin address as the user (you can set anything as the password, it doesn't matter).

Fine Tuning:

It is suggested to set a mining difficulty. This can be set by appending a value after your username, to calculate this value use the following formula:

Hash Rate * .0000011641

So if your hash rate is 1930 KHash and your wallet address was GNTzNHAxz3fVoZiVmBFbraUwN9GQEM5XTa, you'd want to set it up like so:

(1930 * .0000011641) = 0.002246713

Resulting in...

GNTzNHAxz3fVoZiVmBFbraUwN9GQEM5XTa+0.002246713

Vertminer Tuning:

  • Intensity: <= 19 (or lower - you want to maximize the responsiveness of your miner)
  • Queue: 0
  • Scantime: 5

Thanks. I have two R9 290x, both water cooled.  What kind of kh/s should I be getting?

I've been at this for over six hours, but at the moment I'm like relaxed with such low kh/s, because the frustration the last 6 hours or so had been so intense, that I actually wanted to punch the wall. That's really rare for me. The same last week.

Someone looking for settings for 7870 earlier this is what I use and I get about 171 k/hash per card. Mine are the 7870xt not sure how much difference that makes.

core 840 mem 1500 using afterburner

vertminer.exe --scrypt-vert -o stratum+tcp://gpu.hashfever.com:3262 -u xxxx.xxxx -p xxxxx -I 12 -g 2 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 4096

I get almost 50% exactly from my r9 290.  So I assume the same for the 290x.  what are you getting?

Basically for tuning CGminer you want to start with clocks that other ppl have put on the web on the litecoin mining hardware wiki.

And then tune intensity and thread concurrency and threads from there. Once you have good hash and 0 HW errors you can start messing with the clocks again to see if you can get it higher.

But these simple truths hold for any card...It depends on the card whether it will hash well or be stable on -g 1 or -g 2

-g 1 goes with high thread concurrencies (shaders*6 or more) and high intensity (18 or more)

-g 2 goes with low thread concurrencies (shaders*5 or less) and low intensity (typically 13)

If you are having HW errors with any of those 2 tunings then keep trying higher thread concurrencies.

My cards include 6950's 6970's 7950' 7970's and 280X's and that has worked out pretty well for all of them.

That is for cgminer though....
You have to mine with coin with vertminer? It is an Nfactor coin? oh well.

Thanks. I saw that it said something about a conf file. Do I have to create one of those? I hope that's the problem.

I saw it. I deleted the .bin files. still the same error. I'm going to try to remove the GPUs and put them in my other computer. I tried running Vertminer there, integrated graphics, and at least it was running. I just don't understand what's going on with my rig. Tried it on Windows 7 and 8, same problems.
