Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

The demand can't cope with that, but the amount of hashrate for litecoin is amazing. o.O

if anybody says LTC is dying this is pure FUD.
LTC is in great shape esp now when ASICs came. this means more people will buy machines DIRECT for LTC not GPUs and will back its price like this - same as it was with BTC.
i was into BTC in era of GPUs and it costed pennies then - 1-5$ up to 20-30$. LTC has fallen yesterday - that happends. i was one of lucky guys who got on btc-e BTC for 200$ aroudn 2 months ago whiel there was 5 minute dump to 100$.
so just chill out, promote LTC and keep collecting. this is for long run not small day-trading.

Don't worry about the current price too much. Bitcoin had the same problem when ASIC firstly introduced. Litecoin will survive too, as long as we all hold our coins and DO NOT DUMP together with those crazy miners And it's now a golden opportunity if anyone wants to increase their LTC holdings. Such an opportunity may not happen again in the near future |

Boy...sure am regretting sitting on these little 20 litecoins now :-(
Sure hope things start looking up soon for this coin or I'm going to have cut-and-run with some pretty heavy losses!
