I've seen Zeitcoin have 30+ active connections on quite a few occasions. I particularly remember 36 active connections and wondered where they were all coming from. Most of the other well-established coins in my possession amble on at between 6 to 8 active connections.

One thing we do know is that there are a lot of people out there just buying into Zeitcoin and being satisfied in receiving 25% Proof of Stake interest by simply syncing their wallets a couple of times a month. They don't need to buy any more - Zeitcoins just appear like magic. Who needs a goose that lays golden eggs when you have a Zeitcoin wallet?! Wink

I have heard more than one commit that they just enjoy minting and really don't have any interest in the markets. Wonder if we are seeing the creation of a new past time.

Notice how the sell-wall has all been moved down from 34 to 32 this morning?

..and how the only solid buy-walls are at 16 & 17?

ARRR - THERE BE WHALES!

Well, small wannabe-whales anyway Wink

Perhaps 'dolphins with attitudes'?

I expect the price - not that it matters to those of us perfectly happy to mint & hold - will stay within this band for the next few months. Good news for all those who are new to the party & keen to gain a bag worth holding before the fun really starts Cheesy

I'll start mining something in the next couple of weeks - just to keep the cottage warm once the cold weather starts to bite -

- Guess what I'll be spending it on?

There is no whale. I personally have 30 LTC for playing on Cryptsy. I did some zeit investments in the last days and eat some walls up to 34.
I think there are 3-4 people who are trading zeit on cryptsy constantly. I moved my wall from 34 to 32, because i want to sell it for 32.

There is 0% buying activity. You can push zeit to every value you want with some lonely LTC.

An Apple a day, keeps the whale away.... Let us climb up slowly and relaxed. A constant climbing graph looks better than an ultra push...
By the way, i want to invite every possible Counsel Member to our War Room at forum.zeit-coin.net within the next two weeks.

For that i need your username in the official forum.

Is anybody in touch with solarion and qberty? If so, lemme know.

Cheers,
Ray

ABSOLUTELY agree that a slow & steady rise is the only desirable outcome.

I see "Mr TinySells" has been active again. STINKS of attempted manipulation.

Think what we could do with most right now is some solid buy support at 29 or 30. We're still a bit vulnerable to big dumps.

- But it will be a while before I can personally do something about it. I tried to fire up my miners last night but with no meaningful success. I suspect that when my MoBo blew it did some damage to the HD7990 coz all I get from it is instant thermal runaway. Works fine for games though.

I've also discovered that McAfee hates cgminer - it will quarantine the .exe as soon as you try to run it, unless you manually tell it not to.

Kaspersky does the same its a pain in the arse

It's needed - when your cgminer gets outdated. It protects you against mining botnet.
As far as i know, only old cgminers (CPU/GPU) are affected. Most of the scanners remove the minerd.exe in your client, too.
If you are on ASIC mining (with ASIC-only miners), you should have no problems.

also affects sg miner but it is an old version that im using

it must be a recent update to Kaspersky that blocked sgminer because previously it only blocked the .bat file and not the miner but tonight I looked to allow my .bat file and saw that sgminer had been completely blocked so there was no need to allow the bat file as unblocking sgminer fixed it

thanks for the info ill look into updating to a latest version I don't want to be part of a botnet

Follow up to using coin control to reduce the amount of blocks and reducing cpu use.  It works!

2 weeks ago I had over 8000 blocks and my cpu was at 19.3%
I started combining blocks with the goal of getting down to 100.  There was no noticeable change in cpu until I got down to 900 blocks, this takes time if you want to preserve your coin age and I figure I will be down to about 80 blocks in 2 more weeks.

Currently sitting at 140 blocks and cpu use is at 5%, which is a big improvement - thanks for the tips!

Anyone who has high cpu use with the wallet might want to use the coin control and start consolidating the blocks into a smaller number, it's definitely made an improvement for me.

You can also try renaming cgminer to Lionminer and sometimes the AVs no longer detect it.

Now THAT I like the sound of Grin

... but I won't be doing any mining until I sort out the other problems, which with the other stuff on my plate right now (raising some start-up capital) it is unlikely to be soon.
