... The domain will not be sold until 2016 or later. I will not be selling it to somebody so they can redirect stratum.btcguild.com to their own server right after the pool shuts off.
If you have any doubts regarding our intentions, we can disclose you full details about the company standing behind. We are not some rogue savages trying to steal hashrate as some are trying to present us here. Our intentions are to fully pay all miners of BTCGuild that would continue to mine on BTCGuild domain after closure - every share will be paid in BTC, the way NiceHash has been operating since the beginning.I'm not actually sure why you don't understand what eleuthria seems to be saying? (he even stated the 2016 comment before his post quoted) I take it to mean he doesn't want to do this - pass all his miners to you - or anyone. So ... what's the relevance of your post except maybe trying to advertise your proxy?

If you connected by direct IP, or use extremely broken DNS caching, the old stratum.btcguild.com server was taken offline days ago. The DNS had been changed to a different IP for over 48 hours before the server was offline, even though the TTL on that subdomain was only 30 minutes.

Or the ones who don't follow the news on the pool. If miners want to move to nicehash, let them do it on their own accord. No behind the scenes tomfoolery.

There is no way eleuthria would do the latter and I doubt he'll do the former.

Mined my first bitcoin with a 7970 in ~2 days on your pool back in Feb 2013. Thanks, eleuthria! Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Just a reminder that the mining server will be offline at 23:59 UTC (or shortly after) on June 30th, which is about 20 hours after making this post. If you plan to continue mining on BTC Guild up until the mining server goes dark, make sure your miners have failover pools in place.
For the first week after the mining pool shuts off, withdrawals may experience brief delays (up to 8 hours if it happens right after I go to sleep). I'm expecting a significant increase in withdrawal requests once the server shuts off and people who have been mining on auto-pilot finally go to the site and read the news. This will require moving coins from the cold storage to the payment server, which is a manual process.

Thanks eleuthria. Yours was the first pool I mined with. I sincerely enjoyed learning through your statistics and forum posts.

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Clearly there are going to be a lot of confused faces from people who don't bother keeping up with what's going on. I suspect you'll get a second flood of new posts after the pool has shut down.

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Do not go gentle into that good night - Dylan Thomas

You've got some funny math skills... the announcement post is dated 10/22/2011. The first block with BTC Guild in the coinbase script was 152700 on 11/10/2011. If you're going to make something up, at least make it somewhat credible. Eleuthria, best of luck to you in your new cardboard mansion
