about F'ing time. ...

You know... let's just update AFTER the fork.

Wonder how many pool/crypto site maintainers don't check their emails every day...

Actually, debrause is part of the dev team. He has been moving since before we decided that we needed to push the update sooner then later. Because he was moving he had no phone or internet to stay abreast. Hes now back on the case as they just installed his new internet.

But a lot of others do not check emails and its getting annoying.
Fair enough, but as you may have guessed I was really aiming that to the people that it concerns more than derbrause himself.

Yeah for sure.. those others are really cramping our style.. mostly now its just the explorers, but dont worry Smiley

we've got our own kick-butt explorer being launched tonight.

@ Makishart,

I can assure you we sent emails. None the less, were just looking out for our community of miners. All is good now, you're obviously up and running the new wallet.

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

I am a miner on myself too. Also my nodes are on coins that I support (fees are not covering my nodes costs).

Also my announcement was there..

Last, because I didn't got a notification I would like to include my email in future updates please.. It's also public in my node (info@gr2pool.eu) thank you Smiley

So why did this coin have a huge spike today? it looks like its still trending to hit huge numbers? Is it because of the client update or did it epoch to the next level?

^^^??

The price spiked for the same reason any crypto spikes when there's a news story and attention drawn to it. Pumpers know that if they pump a coin immediately after it has some attention (the press release) it will make people think the coin is going "to the moon" and they'd better hitch a ride. Drives the price up and then the pumpers dump it, leaving those new to the game holding the bag...basically, they've just taken half of your money from you. Happens with every coin. Beware of rapid price escalations, because they are most likely pumps and will inevitably result in a dump...so don't buy on the way up.

True....however the price is low on this moment, in my humble opinion.

Prices go up and down. We cannot control that.
With that being said, it is nice to see the floor 200-300 satoshi more then it was a week ago. The nice thing about the rallies we have had is usually it finds a higher floor when it does come back down a little.

This is very true. This coin continues to impress and I foresee a bright future with EMC2. The price now (600-800 Satoshi) is still very undervalued and affordable to anyone with even a lunch money's worth to spare. Day trading will always be risky, but I assure you this is not a risky long term bet when compared to other crypto in general. There is still risk in betting on any crypto or digital currency! That said, EMC2 is one of the safest places to park Satoshis. Remember that day trading is always risky and everyone involved is trying to take your money. The best I can offer is try not to buy when it is moving, up or down on the price graph, if you intend to keep for a while, unless of course you know better. Cheers!

This happens to my mac as well. I am on a core two duo. Do you have core two duo processor?  They are coming out with a fix ASAP.

I can't say if something can be done.  But the proper procedure is to ALWAYS BACK UP WALLET. And then just install the update. No touching of anything necessary.

And in the event that something bad happened while updating wallet (not sure I ever witnessed a wallet overwriting wallet.dat while updating), well you have your backed up key anyways.

Now... in your wallet, do you still see your old receiving address, or its a new one?

And to resume, you

Copied wallet.dat to desktop
Installed update
Copied wallet.dat back into appdata (and confirmed you wanted to OVERWRITE A on prompt)
Synced?

(ANY discrepancy in what I resumed, please note, anything can make a huge difference)

Because this is our future
EMC2 - Einsteinium
Launched 1st March 2014, 6pm GMT

New wallet - version 1.1 - MANDATORY UPDATE
The wallet can be downloaded from the OP links and the website. Source is available on the Github.

In order to verify you are running the right wallet:

- download package should include 1.1 string (i.e. einsteinium-qt-1.1.zip)
- in help -> "About Einsteinium" you should see 8.7.1 version
- getinfo command should report: protocolversion 70003

The windows wallet still has the einsteinium-qt-1.0.zip file name.
