ATTENTION: Veil Mainnet launch moved to January 1st, 2019
After an in-depth discussion with our team and community, we decided to further postpone the planned Veil Mainnet launch date to better establish a fair distribution model and for a longer testing period.
We will set up an open and public testing phase for our users, to ensure a fully tested and smooth-running platform and to meet the standards of all the people interested in our project. We are also working on providing the community with more technical information on the x16rt mining algorithm so that everyone is up-to-speed and ready to go before the official launch.
Thank you for your understanding and we will keep you updated on our social channels.
Until now, everything looks fair in this coin launch. It's better to postpone and have all the conditions, this is something that will mark the beginning of the project

We definitely appreciate all the feedback shared in this thread, on Discord, and via social media—I hope it's obvious by our responses and decision to delay to better improve things for miners come launch. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, or share opinions and feedback as it's all being read and considered carefully, even if sometimes we can't offer the answers you want to hear. Thanks for the patience, and hope you're all as keen as we are.

To be fair you should launch on testnet first and wait week or two so people can adopt/test wallet and mining software and then launch on the mainnet.

This has been a factor in the decision to delay. Keep your eyes peeled for more info soon.

Kudos to the developers on this really innovative block reward scheme!
Does that pretty much sum it up?
Hello Cryptoasshatawards. Not quite accurate. 1. The budget fund will go to team member salaries, bounty program fund, and other project-related expenses. The Veil Labs fund will go to R&D of cryptography, privacy, and blockchain tech; this is run separately from main Veil development. 2. The 30% Budget fund and 10% Veil Labs fund will not be staked. These funds are held in a 4 of 6 multisignature escrow before being released. 3. Team member salaries do not comprise the entire 30% Budget fund. 4. Team member salaries are paid out in a fixed amount of Veil per month and has a hard cap in USD. 5. Public monthly budget reports will be made available for the community to scrutinize and give feedback on. I hope this helps dispel some concerns.

We’re working on it! Can’t give any details though. How can you have an exchange when the first block hasn't been mined! Or do you mean that you're just getting things 'lined up' for down the track?

We’d like to be listed upon launch or as close to it as possible, so we have been in contact with a number of exchanges to that end.

Or will you work with small exchanges for the first time?

We are contacting a variety of exchanges, large and small. But we can't say much more beyond that due to NDA.

Lol, 50% budget, labs, bla-bla-bla, aka "premine, but we just take it later".
Let's pretend what you've boiled it down to here was accurate. Avoiding a premine alone would greatly benefit the health of the currency by avoiding a swathe of the coin supply being staked from day one. That's already a big difference. We have asked nothing from anyone externally. If you choose to mine or stake is completely up to you, and the chain will reward that. If you choose to contribute otherwise, the bounty system will reward that. That freedom to develop the product, and as a result, price, is what we're aiming for. But it costs money, and that expenditure benefits not just the team, but everyone. If you think a premine or an ico is a more reasonable way to start a project you're welcome to that opinion, but try to remember that we as a team have already put our money and time where our mouths are throughout developing this project over many long months. As things stand, it's considerable insurance for you, the users, that we're not going to exit-scam on raised ico funds, or dump a premine and move on. I hope you might come to appreciate that in time. I don't know that this reply will change your mind, but all the same thanks for your feedback—we appreciate it. Keep your eyes peeled for more on the budget and other info in the near future. Cheers

The startup has great prospects. We are required to wait a few months. The project itself realizes!
