C.A.T is very difficult to set up ?
Not if you have the ability to read and/or watch a youtube video. Those who complain obviously didn't take the 3 minutes it takes to understand. I did and the video is in low definition ... you can't see what is what.

I already told you that the GUIDE is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.msg5590896#msg5590896And, CAT is easy to set up. But you must know the meaning of "trading".

That is one reason I don't buy it and it takes up all your computer memory to use it is what I heard. You heard bullshit. I use Cat on a 8 years old dual core, on 10-25 markets at the same time.

Sampey sorry... someone did tell me that. The whole problem here is the difficulty in using it as someone posted here. I'm a real noob at this stuff .. meaning a newbie at it. And I dare not take the chance of losing .75 BTC on something I won't be able to use.

And if someone will tell you that LTC will surpass BTC in value you will believe it? C.A.T. is simple to use and i always look for memory/cpu usage optimization. BUT it's not a magic money machine. To use a trading software you must be able to manually trade, to know the meaning of "trading". But tell that C.A.T. is complex.....no! It's not complex.

And I dare not take the chance of losing .75 BTC on something I won't be able to use. Then C.A.T. is probably not for you (yet). I suggest learning the basics of trading, especially ping-pong trades to make some small profits on volatile markets. Once you can reliably make (small) profits by repeatedly buying low and selling high and you come to think "Wouldn't it be great if my computer could do this all day and night long for me" then it is the time to think about buying a C.A.T. license and let it do the job for you, basically C.A.T. follows your own strategy for you when you need or want to be AFK. In other words: If you know what you are doing on a market, C.A.T. can do that for you 24x7 reliably. C.A.T. is no magic bullet that "just makes money on altcoin markets". C.A.T. has a lot of settings you can adjust, that can be overhelming in the beginning. But once you realize you only need to create a ping-pong trade with default settings it becomes very simple as Sampey says. C.A.T. is extremly stable and it certainly has no memory problems and is very lightweight in its resource usage. I run it on a VPS with 1G RAM for ~30 markets on 2 exchanges, current uptime is over 45 days (yeah sorry Sampey, still running 3.5 at the moment but I promise to update soon ).

Ping Pong are 2 orders related by a % GAIN
Example, you want to gain 10%
So there are 2 kinds of Ping-Pong
CASE 1 : BUY -> SELL
PING(BUY) Qty 5 Price 100 A Trade Occurs : BUY 5 @ 100 Then a PONG(SELL) Is created at 10% More than the Buy Ping Price So result is SELL 5 @ 110
CASE 2 : SELL -> BUY PING(SELL) Qty 5 Price 100 A Trade Occurs : SELL 5 @ 100 Then a PONG(BUY) Is created at 10% Lessa than the Sell Ping Price So result is Buy 5 @ 90
TL;DR
CASE 1 : Buy 5@100 -> Sell 5@110 CASE 2 : Sell 5@100 -> Buy 5@90
Not so difficult.

after using this bot for over two weeks now i have better understanding how it works and what can it offer to the user. first of all i thought that it works as conspirosphere wrote above - unfortunately it's not. that would be perfect and this is exactly what i expected but not - it's not so easy. in reality it just follows the price and gives you false impression that you earn when you look into gain tab. it doesn't mean it won't earn something for you - it just means that it's FAR HARDER and FAR LONGER to set it correct. think about how it works: you set the buy price and gain percent. it buys and waits for proper price and it sells. fine, we have a gain! but what happens next? even with option "never buy over your last sell price" next round will be started almost with the same price as last sell price. get it? THERE IS NO REAL GAIN - it just follows the current price. of course there is a solution for that which is option "never buy over: x" but this is where hard part begins. with volatility of cryptocurrencies it's extremaly hard to set this correct. even if you lucky it won't last long cause price will run away from your brackets sooner than later. so my overall experience with it is bit dissapointing after all. it still has a potential though but it needs more settings than currently. or at least just one but extremaly important in my opinion!
i'm missing settings for ping creation. it should not just start again without reference to last sell price! there should be option to tell CAT to create next ping order with reference to last sell price like buy/sell with % lower/higher than last sell/buy price. and in my opinion it should do the trick. without implenting this option it's hard as hell to earn anything through it.
thanks!

It's very strange to read that from a person who bought CAT on March 07, 2016 and wrote me on March 14, 2016 so after a week of using your bot i'm in a half way in return from this investment Smiley i'm very glad! i was playing with some settings and found a way to have some decent earnings but there are still many gaps to cover and i hope that you will be able to provide me some answers. Probably a private message would have been better than this kind of topic. if you lost money or have made bad choices do not be angry with me I don't like this kind of attitude, when things are going well there's absolute silence, when someone got problems immediately begins to write that the problem is in the software. THERE IS NO REAL GAIN FALSE, GAIN is real after a Ping-Pong Complete

al kohol there is one thing I heard from pump groups......I order to make good profits you need many many coins.. many..... like in BTC value 100+ BTC worth and your up against professionals. And I now know I'll never be able to use this...and at $275 .. I'm a total noob at this stuff. It took me 4 weeks to learn how do a bat. file. Thank you for your post.

Sampey there is no need to take my post emotionally. i did not write about loss because there isn't any. but there is no gain as well. is it really so strange for you that someone can change opinion after gain more experience? i will repeat it again - tab with gains is misleading - you have to compare it with total amount of coins and their current value directly on exchange. it's not real gain because otherwise i would be 2 BTC reacher and i'm not. i'm your customer and i reported something important so in your interest is to take a closer look on it. i requested to add just one additional setting - is this really so hard to implement it? i did not notice any word from you in regards to it.
tbearhere believe me or not but i still think that this bot is valuable. all you need to do is to find some coin with not so high volatility (e.g. litecoin) and play static. i'm trying with this now and it's promising. but i'd like to have more value from this bot than that. this is the reason of my posts.

Ok, let's do an example : You have 100 COIN X, and 100 COIN X = 1 BTC VALUE. Now you set a PING-PONG with 10% GAIN PING SELL 100@X -> PONG BUY 110@Y (where X and Y are the 2 ping-pong prices). Ping-Pong is completed and now you have 110 X Coin, so your MATHEMATICAL Gain is 0.1 BTC. That's math we can't discuss about that You Stop CAT or Market Condition Changes -> NO new orders are created. Coin X crash by 50% in the next 48 hours, so your estimate portfolio value in BTC will became 0.55 BTC. And this is also math, you have lost 0.55 but it's not CAT fault. Same if coin X Gain 50%, your gain (in estimated BTC Value) is not given by CAT. i'm your customer and i reported something important so in your interest is to take a closer look on it. i requested to add just one additional setting - is this really so hard to implement it? Of course not, i usually add users request. So, if you have a set of features (i usually need a clear example on how it must works) you are free to write them, in this topic or by pm I will look to add in the next release.

at $275 .. CAT price has always been between 0.5 and 0.8 Price (0.8 BTC was the original price when it works only on Cryptsy) even when BTC Value was 60 USD or 1000 USD. WHY? It's simple, your are trading in a Cryptoworld were all values are expressed in BTC. I Only accept BTC/Crypto as payment. So, if you are able (for example) to gain 1 BTC/Month when BTC value is 60 USD, you are still able to have 1BTC/Month gain when BTC value is 1000 USD. My price is expressed as BTC, i don't consider the FIAT/BTC Change value.

Sampey basically you're right and 100 + 10% = 110 and then 110 + 10% = 121 and so on. But it's definitely NOT a good example of idea - 'buy low, sell high' - rather: 'buy high, sell even higher'. At the end it doesn't matter if you choose 1, 10 or 50% of gain as those percents are cumulative. What matters is when to hop off the train before it crashes. Anyway i still playing with CAT trying to find the best settings. I'd really apreciate if you implement my proposal.
