I have to watch the highlights of the match and it sure was an entertaining end and i would have placed a bet on Ireland to win the match if i was watching the match live and hence i am glad i missed the match  . It is hard to predict these matches and i wonder what the odds were before the match and during the closing stages of the match.

It is the last over that made the match completely on the side of Zimbabwe. However this match could've never reached such a situation if Zimbabwe's Regis Chakabva haven't scored 48 runs out of 28 balls. Everyone might've thought Ireland will win the match as it is a need of runs less than the balls on the final over. But, everything happened all of the sudden with two consecutive wickets.

BTW, Zimbabwe won the match. They have more experience than Ireland and they have played a few tournaments recently. But their win was not so convincing. Ireland could have defeated them if they had wickets in hand. ZIM only won by 3 runs, so the competition is good. It is a three-match tournament, next one would be interesting.

It was a low scoring match. 6 run was needed from the last over. I thought Ireland will win the game without showing much effort. But they have lost it. The performance from Ireland was not up to the mark. Their young players are unable to handle the pressure and the batting remains heavily dependent on Paul Stirling. And after the opening partnership between Paul Stirling and Kevin O'Brien was broken, none of the other batsmen apart from Simi Singh could get to double figures. Andy Balbirnie performed well against Netherlands and South Africa recently, but he failed this time. A lot was talked about Curtis Campher, but he also disappointed everyone.

Ireland is ahead of Zimbabwe in the ICC T20 rankings, and they had the home advantage. On top of that, Zimbabwe was missing some of the regular players. There is no excuse to the pathetic show put up by Ireland during the first match. If they want to do justification to their newly acquired test status, then they need to be consistent. Now they can't even claim that England is stealing their best players. Stirling, Balbirnie.etc have rejected lucrative offers from English counties to represent Ireland (unlike what Eoin Morgan and Boyd Rankin did in their prime).

Involving of big teams isn't necessary to attract spectators. Both teams have almost same quality players. There wasn't big difference in the betting odds. This is like a competitive series. Moreover, Ireland will play the first round of upcoming T20 world cup. This series is getting some discussion for these reasons. The end of the first T20 game was unexpected and surprising. I'm glad that Ireland team got the victory in the second match.

Yes it made me suprised as well that alot of people are following this match between ireland and zimbabwe . Frankly i was not following these matches and after reading these posts then after that i checked the score card of the match .

Even with the matches played between small teams the interest is getting increased with time. This is all because of people getting chances to watch the matches on one window and work on the other window(lockdown work from home). Another thing is due to the people's interest on sports betting compared to the past.

What ever may be the situation, Ireland won the match. I did not watch the entire match and i am about to watch the highlights, i am looking for good edited ones with good quality and then i will make a comment, but looking at the scoreboard Zimbabwe were 64 for 5 in 10 overs and it is great to see that they were able to reach 152 runs but Ireland was too good today.

Yeah.. this time Ireland managed to chase the total, although the target was higher when compared to the last match. After a long time, Kevin O'Brien scored a double century. Along with George Dockrell, he is the only remaining member of the Ireland team, which defeated England in 2011. Never got an opportunity to play IPL, but showcased his talent in some of the other T20 leagues such as the CPL. Paul Stirling is perhaps their best batsman now. But IPL franchises have shown little interest with him as well.
