Honestly, I have never heard of the Asia Cup even though I have been a Cricket fan for a long time now. I was actually referring to the major ICC tournaments like the T-20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup etc.

Other cups and tournaments are decent and all, but they pale in comparison to the World Cups which are the ultimate goals for any team in my opinion.

Yes it is for a 169 run win in T20 not enough.of course, if the team had a target of 200 runs to win, the chances of winning would have been a little higher I think Afghanistan's batting performance has been very poor. It was a really close match even though the scoreboard looks like Ireland won with plenty of wickets in hand, in the last over, there was a missed fielding when one of the fielder dived to save them but instead dragged the ball over the boundary and if that one was saved, the results might be different. Good to see that Ireland winning a match after getting close to a win in many matches but ended up loosing.

Basically, Ireland lost against New Zealand and South Africa by playing tight matches especially because they couldn't handle the pressure. But Afghanistan are basically against them as they are relatively less strong than New Zealand and South Africa They snatched the win after beating Ireland. Anyway, after watching Ireland's game yesterday, I realized that they can basically perform well against weaker teams in their own venue.

Yeah, this was a big concern for them, they have done good fights in last few matches against India, New Zealand and South Africa but sadly mostly fail to give good end but in this match they learn from their mistakes and keep cool until end of this match and have good success.
 
Once I was feeling again they are going to chock and losing this match even they lost only three wickets but in last two overs done good job and achieve their target which is big success for them and this is going to be good for them in future with Afghanistan is also in good shape in presence of few quality spinner and batsmen they are giving good challenge to many big teams but here losing against Ireland is big setback for them hopefully they will fight back in second match.

I disagree. They are receiving almost $5 million per year from the ICC now (still lower than $12 million per year allotted to Zimbabwe). They need to justify this greater allocation, by winning matches against top teams. And after their series win against West Indies many months ago, I don't think that Ireland has anything to show on this regard. Their win against Afghanistan may boost their morale. But let's also remember the fact that Afghanistan is also receiving the same fund allocation from the ICC.
