Competition for the position of pace bowlers in the Indian national team just got more difficult, with the entry of Avesh Khan. There are just 2-3 spots available, and at least a dozen bowlers are competing for these places. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only experienced bowler who is being considered for the T20 selection (I don't think that Jasprit Bumrah will be part of T20 anymore). Among the younger brigade, we have Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Natarajan, Umran Malik, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammad Siraj and Deepak Chahar.

Talent is immense, no doubt about it but if you're not incentivizing the strike rates in T-20 then you deserve to doom. You should never expect becoming impact player in T-20 if your SR is below 140, period!! 

You are missing one critical point which is the bowling factor. Scoring at lower strike-rates is absolutely fine as long as they don't waste too many balls. On the other hand, bowlers need to focus on improving their economy rates and taking wickets more consistently.

Probably no one expected such disaster of South Africa batting lineup. I was thinking that South Africa will easily win this series, but now I have doubts about it.

Wrong. These ups and downs are pretty common in the T-20 format(Especially the IPL). Never underestimate any team in the T-20 format which is drastically different when compared to the ODI and Test formats.

In today's match, India scored only 56 runs in the first 10 overs. The run rate was less than 6. They should have collected at least 70 runs in the first 10 overs.

So? The final result is all that matters at the end of the day. India convincingly destroyed SA in recent matches which is the crucial point.

Completely opposite point of view. Bowlers are important part but T-20 is a format for the batters. In this format we can't expect bowlers to bail out team every time.

Lower strike rates are directly connected to batter wasting opportunity to score runs, not the other way around. If Career SR is hanging around 130-132 then it's understandable because sometime you click, sometime you don't but if your match SR is going down from that mark then it's bad for the team.

Just look at the scorecard of English batting in last match against Netherlands.

In the fourth T20I, India registered a comprehensive victory over South Africa! It was a great performance from the Indian bowlers, they did their job perfectly. From 2-0 down, India moves on to 2-2 to level the series. For the final T20I and to confirm the victory in the T20 series, they just need to keep their motivation high.

I was impressed by the performance of the Indian bowlers. India could not win the first match even after giving a target of 212 runs. We then blamed the Indian bowlers. But in the third and fourth matches, the Indian bowlers proved their mettle. In the fourth match, the Indian bowlers were able to pick up all the wickets of South Africa by just 87 runs. Avesh Khan's performance in particular was excellent. He has been able to take four important wickets.

India now clearly in command. They lost first two T20I but there performance in first T20I was outstanding as they scored 211 runs. Hardik Pandya is back in squad and he along with Kartik are the main batter who helped India giving target of 169 runs. I am of the view that India will win the last game also.

In the t20 format actually, it does not matter if a team has the best bowlers. All that matters in a t20 match having good batsmen in the team. Honestly, you don't even need good batsmen on your team. You just need someone who can throw his bat around and get some quick runs. That's why I think it is not very important to have really great bowlers in a team for t20 matches.

But I think it is important to have really good leg-spin bowlers. Because leg-spin bowlers are really mysterious. And that is very important for t20 cricket. And if you think about having fast bowlers on the team they better be able to bowl at a 150 km per hour speed.

Temba Bavuma is not known as a prolific striker of the ball in T20 and he is struggling in Indian pitches, advantage for India is that Dinesh Karthik has become a world class finisher and most of the time he does not getting the opportunity and he should be sent ahead of Hardik Pandya depending on the match situation so that he get more time in the middle.

After the first two matches i thought the series is done and dusted but it is good to see that India is fighting back without any major changes in the bowling unit.

Only positive sign is our young team has no baggage so this might work in our favor, hope Proteas choke tomorrow but at the same time we are also big time choker.  

Normally SA are too good at there home ground but its nice to know that they are also unbeaten at India in T20I bilateral series. My be IPL have given too much experience to SA players that they can easily overcome India at there home ground. India performance in T20 series is quite good and now they are in a good position to win the series.

Honestly I don't know why the selectors always give preference for Rishabh Pant ahead of Dinesh Karthik. Pant has failed again and again. Guys like Karthik and Saha are constantly overlooked because of their age (Saha has retired, for all practical purposes). Younger keepers such as Pant, Kishan and Samson have been given ample opportunities, but these guys never made full use of them. IMO, DK should be the keeper for the next 2-3 years at least. Till then, the younger guys need to prove that they can perform on a consistent basis.

BCCI's plan is long-term. Dinesh Karthik is now over 37 years old. He will be able to stay with the team for a maximum of 2 years. Rishab Pant may not be in good form now. But from now on, if BCCI cannot make Rishab Pant suitable for the Indian team, then the Indian team will be short of experienced players in the future. India has a lot of talented players. But there are very few experienced players. And so RIshab Pant played poorly in a few matches but BCCI is giving him ample opportunity to get back in form.

While Indian bowlers have been able to improve their performance, the performance of Indian batsmen has not been good enough. I am not satisfied with the performance of Indian batsmen. A very improved performance from bowlers and batsmen which bring back India at level with South Africa after losing the first two T-20 but they still need some good depth because in this new generation of players we have nothing special masala as we have in past from many great players even win is won but they need something better performance as they are preparing for this year's mega-event which is going to play in Australia in October and they are going to face Pakistan in their first match.

I also don't think that India has done anything really great in the last two matches. I think the South African team needed to play a lot better than they have and now it looks like they might face a choked defeat in this t20 series.

But, I have to say in the previous match India was batting really well. South African bowlers could have done better. The last match is going to be the decider and I hope it will not be a one-sided match. And if Dinesh Kartik is able to play really well in the last match I think the selectors are going to do justice to him.
