Wagering contest does not always bring good result for the house, but if the site manages to run it regularly like other sites then I believe it will be profitable. Of course there is no guarantee of profit, but if windice slowing it down by reducing the prize because of the last contest was not really good then I can say that is not a good decision IMO.

I think current contests are profitable for WinDice because each prize is less than 1% of the the amount wagered by a contestant. I understand that it can be unprofitable if most of the participants are not losing, but winning some money during the contest, but the probability of that happening is pretty low.

As we can see from this screenshot made today

around 4k unique players have played on the platform since 16 Mar 2020. I think this site is making some profits. I think we can even estimate, roughly, how big those profits are.

We can see from the live stats on the site that $34k was won during the last 24 hours:

Now, it means that the amount wagered on the site is roughly 2 times higher than that.

$34,000 x 2 = $68,000

And the site's profit is 1% of that:

$68,000 ÷ 100 = $680

So, by my estimations, the site's daily profit is around $600-$700.

I'm wondering, how far estimations from the reality? Smiley

Nice decision to choose ripple as one of the payment method on your site. Although I'm very rare to use ripple for my gambling activity but as I know there are many people love to use this coin for gambling. How about adding new games? Do you have any plans to add new games in the near future?

I agree, I should  not have called it "profit" because they have a lot of expenses, such as paying their great mods, for example. Smiley

Also, that number, reflecting the USD won during the last 24 hours, varies greatly from one day to another. For example, today it is more than 2 times greater than yesterday:

So, it was a very rough estimation, but I hope their business is good, especially considering today's numbers. Smiley

In my personal opinion Windice has been doing great business, and while I do know there’s not much official record of their profits but the very fact that they’re able to pay their users on time says it all that they’re doing well for themselves. Furthermore if anyone needs more proofs look at the number of bets played out there, it has only substantially increased and that would not have been possible had they not been making good money from their business.

Edit: When Windice first launched last year, I posted I was suspicious of them. Sorry for that. Find my new review below.

Nice site with good design.. I just played, lost but it was fun.  Grin Also, Interesting to see the owner just posting big images then leaves without actually answering anything in the topic, that's weird

Yeah, they are making a great amount of return but do not forget that not only the costs of development, servers, offices, staff and many other thing that drops that down, but the biggest cost has and will always be taxes for almost all companies in the world unless you work in a supermarket type of thing that requires constant repurchases.

I have a "friend" (some guy I met on telegram and still talk to time to time) that owns a great huge crypto exchange website, that dude was making 44k profit per day from trading fee alone and they were making about 6-8k from excess withdrawal fee as well, he told me that he feels like he should be super rich now and drive a lambo but he is barely keeping the company open, why?

Because, he was paying 50% up front on taxes and he was spending rest on costs as well and he was also growing bigger so he had to make an investment today for the profits of tomorrow so basically all money he made went straight back to company, just so he could keep it open and make more profit later, however when he starts to make more profit "later" that day comes and he still reinvest even more to make even more "later" again so he always and always invests on that "later".

That's not weird. Admin indeed rarely to chat with us (but they will do that when we need their help, just like when they helped some people about their deposit/withdrawal which wasn't proccessed yet and it already resolved). They always update too when the site will be maintenance, so people will play again once they confirm if the maintenance is already finished

What happened to big promotion contests of the past? You used to do 0.2 bitcoin contests almost every week and there was a point where it peaked literally at 30+ and after that you guys just stopped it. I assume it wasn't as profitable as you imagined? Like maybe those people who wagered over 100 bitcoin total for a competition maybe didn't give you over a bitcoin in profits but gave you losses because some of them actually ended up winning?

I can't think of any other reason why you would stop it, there was so many people gambling so much more than what you are offering that "on average" you should have been making over 5 grand per competition according to house edge, maybe would be a loss once or twice but the average looked like you would profit a lot. Why did those stopped?

When on WinDice click the CONTEST button here:

There's almost always a contest running on the site. Yes, the prize pool is lower since recently, so maybe you are right, it wasn't profitable, idk. But they are running chat trivia, apart from other things, and they have thousands unique players during a given week, which is not bad, imo.

There could be many reasons why they have lowered the price pool and one of them could be the profitability, and second one I feel could be the popularity of their contests, and hence they decided to increase number of competitions and decrease the prize pool so more people get the chance to win it. Furthermore a contest is done at the sole discretion of the casino, and as a gambler you should respect their marketing methods.

Yeah I know where the contest button is, that has nothing to do with what I was talking about at all. I simply said "you guys used to had 0.2 btc, why is it 0.03 now" and that's it, knowing where the contest button is basically doesn't even remotely answer my question. About the other part, they used to do it weekly as well but just wasn't specific intervals, for example first few contests were all starting on Tuesday/Wednesday and they kept it up.

I think this last 30+ bitcoin one actually ended up rodolman at profit, so he both made quite few bitcoin profit AND got the free money as well on top of it. That is probably the only thing I can think of right now that caused them to stop giving away that much, otherwise the more people wager the better it should have been for them.

Can you, please tell me, where did you get those numbers from? From what I can see, the prize was 0.1 BTC in the very beginning of the WD wagering contest, and it is 0.012 BTC currently.

I think this last 30+ bitcoin one actually ended up rodolman at profit, so he both made quite few bitcoin profit AND got the free money as well on top of it. To be honest, I see little logic in this assumption. Big prizes attract more players, and more players means bigger profits for the site. If someone won a lot, by chance, making the site to lose some money, it doesn't mean they should stop doing what is profitable out of fear that it can happen again.

I sincerely hope that they will return it to bigger numbers because honestly it was awesome to watch those huge races. Nowadays it is feeling more like people would already wager anyway and just happens to reach it at the exact time of the contest and that's about it, okay maybe some people may wager more than their usual self but not really all that much. The prize for the winner was 0.1 but I was talking more about the whole prize, they paid a lot more to rest of the people as well so it reached to 0.2 or 0.3 if I am not wrong, I know just the winner got 0.1 so it must be around 0.2 at least.

Right now, the WHOLE contest is lower than 0.1 which was what only the winner got back in the day, which is the reason why all of this first all started to begin with with the fact that they lowered the contest prize significantly.

Has anyone checked the pace between reaching each 10 million bets? They keep sharing at every single 10 million bets all the time but I have not seen any data to show how quickly it became from zero to 10 million first, then 10 to 20, 20 to 30 and so forth, it is only 36-37 times if anyone wants to check but honestly I am too lazy to do it myself.

I am pretty sure it peaked somewhere along the way but feels like not so much fast as it used to be nowadays, during that period of 150-250 million somewhere along those lines it felt a lot faster, or maybe I just got used to it being this fast and now it doesn't feel like fast anymore even though it is around the same speed. With everyone staying at home right now, I feel like maybe it should became a bit faster.
