I am pretty sure there will be whales coming in at the last second but yoloer seems like gone for the past few rounds. He played in the first few rounds but then he probably decided that it doesn't worth it and took off, otherwise he was actually finishing at the top but then he started to get competition and that destroys all the "play bare minimum to be top and get paid" method when you have people trying to gamble more than you and get to top.

It is of course very difficult to calculate the real average house edge when you calculate the reward as well.

Not everyone gets the same reward and not everyone gambles the same level on each contest but there is really one truth about this contest and that is the fact that it drops the house edge and that is very cool.

this contest was pretty anticlimatic - no real fight for the top spot and Rodolman took it easily with just 3.9 btc wagered
can't see his stats , but pretty sure this was a profitable run , unless he played very risky
but this guy is not new saw him in the last contests top spots usually
anyways , was fun for me I managed to place high in the table with a relatively small bankroll , total around 300k satoshi
and managed a decent profit + the prize money , very happy about it 

It is probably due to the weekends as the last day of the contest where most whales were spending their time out of gambling place.
Perhaps most whales where spending their time and money for other activities in real life so they did not come at windice for the contest.
Wagering almost 4btc and won 0.1 on the contest is obviously profitable if he did manage it correctly.

on weekends the betting volumes are higher usually , so I don't think it is because of the timing
if I want to participate , I would find time in three days to do so
I was extremely busy during the contest , but still managed to leave my autobet running only to check it from time to time
so if there is a will , there is a way , the problem is not in the lack of time but in the lack of money

Congratz to rodolman for the win, I think the reason why Windice is not doing the "fixed interval" type of deal because there was a lot of attention to it for the first games and there was yoloer fighting with rodolman and so forth but now there are no competition and the games end very quickly and doesn't get too much wagered.

I remember reaching above 10 btc on the first ones (like third one or so I think) but now there is really nobody that gambles that much, we ended up with less than 4 bitcoins which is not nice for the casino. So they realized they didn't really made any profits on these competitions hence why they are not doing it on fixed interval.

It's often the last few minutes that are super intense for most players as that's when the people swarm in to place their bets as it gives them an idea of how much they need to bet to win and its a great strategy because you can assess early in the game if its even worth betting or not.

Yes, it doesn't matter how long the contest takes, it could take years but in the end there will be a lot of people competing for the top spot at the last hour or so. The trick is not to get it high in the first place so that people could bet on the last hour and get a higher position. Sure they could play their all cards and get as high as they can and stop and just wait and see how much people will get close or get over them but that would only show their hands so people really hide their best.

as to the set dates of the wagering competition , if you haven't noticed four out of five competitions started on Wednesday and ended in three days on Saturday
so there is a schedule , it is just they do not happen every week
I don't think the results for the site depend on the schedule , you can see sites with daily contests struggle to get players so it is not about that

Good suggestion! When we do talk about wagering contest then its just normal to think on who would always been favored to win on top spot which it wont

I dont think that cheating would have any positive effect for the casino since the price is split between the nearest guesses anyways. But to make it provable fair Windice could easily make use of the possibilities a blockchain provides, eg a signed encrypted message.

Since the prize pool is way smaller on the one hand and that there are many more customers attracted to the contest I dont think that it would be a loss for the casino. Anyways, they could see it as a marketing campaign, too.

I think it's safe to assume that for Rodolman and for jellyroll2018 it's been a pleasant experience. I predict more high rollers to participate in the next contest because it's obviously worth it.

Congrats on your profit from the participation! Being in your place I would recover my losses at best, because in wagering contests I play with 1.0102x payout, and usually lose a bit more than 1% of the amount wagered. But, apparently, you have used another strategy and you won with it. Good job!

I wont do that if I'm participating in wagering contest. Indeed that seems to be the lowest risk strategies but for me it is like the worst strategy since once you hit lose bet several times then you'll need thousands winning bets in order to recover the losses from the losing bets. In fact it is almost impossible to have thousands winning bets without other losing bet(s). My suggestion, use at least 1.1x payout but indeed you need to have a higher bankroll for better result. Combining strategies is also good imho, so you are not wagering for the contest only but you are also aiming for profit while betting.

All I can ask for is just a fixed interval. If what veleten has said is true (I haven't checked personally) that means they are doing on Wednesdays and end on Saturdays which means they do have a schedule that they hide from us, maybe we could just make it a public thing where there is one contest every Wednesday? Hidden wagering target competition? I dont see it as something good for the site especially if the site gives a clue to players like a range of the wagered amount (i.e 1-5btc). By this clue, most players wont wager more than 5btc, as they wont have a chance to win something from the competition. It means that it will reduce the wagered amount on the site.
Sorry to say but it is a bit complicated competition and most players wont like it especially whales. I believe there are many other alternative contest to attract new players which is simpler than what you suggested.

It is not the most stupid strategy do not worry about what people say,,, I have used it myself for getting high wagers, and for sure it means I end up with losses a lot quicker BUT I can stretch my playing and wagers a lot. 2, Bet on x 1.02

One major concern I had when reading the proposed model for attracting more traffic to the platform was immediately the provability of the selected number. One could most definitely affect the outcome and even if this model was tested there'd be no way to prove its non-interference and thus would be pointless.
A much more controlled version is to use the blockchain algorithm by generating an encrypted code containing some digits which can be used as the winning number. In this way there's no control over which number will be generated as long as one reads it sensibly to fit the range proposed in the competition.
