Why does windice still do contests in weird dates that are all of a sudden shocking and not do planned ones? I mean are they not even reading this topic anymore? Are they really that much above bitcointalk that they don't even really care about it? Because, there has been probably 100 people saying do a fixed interval and they still don't do it, what could be the reason.

These guys could make a "weekend contest" type of deal and could swim in cash but they just do anything else in order to avoid it. What reason could possibly they have to not do fixed intervals when tons of people wants it but still keep making these contests on random days, if they didn't do contests I would say that is understandable but these guys both have contests and just randomly in spite of what everyone else wants.

From experience it is always the team, perhaps not co-operating as well as it should and thus you have disorganisation within the project. But they now say they test various dates which again is not bad as hopefully it will give them an indication of when's best to put out these contests. We shall see  Wink

To discard politics and change the subject, I propose to discuss the current WinDice challenge, Speed Racer!.

I just lost over 1.5k DOGE trying to hit 2000x on CRASH, to no avail, and decided to stop chasing it. And here's what I think regarding my future participation in various challenges. If the maximum prize you can get is significantly less than the amount you can win when fulfilling the challenge, it's probably not worth participating.

I mean, in Speed Racer! the max prize you can get is

0.02 ÷ 31 = 0.00064516

which is roughly 65k sats. But you should win 20x, 200x, 2000x with 50 sats as min bet:

50x20 + 50x200 + 50x2000 = 1000 + 10000 + 100000 = 111,000

So, the prize is 65k max(and in reality it will be less than 40k), while you should win 111k to get that prize.

I think next time I'm going to skip such a challenge.

But that's me. I just lost, and that's why I'm angry. Smiley

What do you guys think about this?

I am a little bit lost here to be honest, but again this is all about expected returns, so you just need to see if what you are expected to lose from your wagers will be less than the prize you win, to make it worthwhile.

But like most competitions, very difficult to see what to expect.

All challenges that are NOT about wager still depend on luck for you:)

~

The key to minimize lose in participating on such challenge is budget management.
You know the estimation on how much if you can complete the challenge so my suggestion is that you need to spend no more than half amount of the prize you may get.
~

I think the same way, and that's why I stopped when I lost almost the amount of the expected prize. If the prize was bigger, I would continue chasing that 2000x.

~

I am a little bit lost here to be honest,

Putting it simple, if the prize is much less than you can win with qualifying bets, it's not worth participating.

but again this is all about expected returns, so you just need to see if what you are expected to lose from your wagers will be less than the prize you win, to make it worthwhile.

Yes, that's what I meant to say.

But like most competitions, very difficult to see what to expect.

All challenges that are NOT about wager still depend on luck for you:)

I'd say, even wagering contests still depend on luck a lot. For example, the max win per bet is 0.25 BTC on WinDice. One can make 40 bets with 50% win chance, win 25 of them, which is, as we all know, pretty much possible with that win chance, win the wagering contest with 10 BTC wagered, and win 2.5 BTC along the way. Well, at least they are actually responding this time, you guys could be "reading" but obviously you don't respond, we have always been asking for a fixed interval so we could know when the contest will be all the time but you not only declined but also didn't even responded back to it. All you had to answer would have been "we are not considering fixed dates so far, we are testing out mixed dates" and we would have understood but it took you weeks to even acknowledge that request.

Anyway, at least we got an answer and that is not bad, team should talk to each other about who is in charge of bitcointalk and maybe restaff the bitcointalk part if you ask me but if it is going to be like this at least we should start getting responses from now on hopefully.

Not actually a bad suggestion and this is what ive been observed too into this thread which their forum account isnt really that active on answering on
what most people do talk nor suggest on here.

To have a better communication towards a bigger community they shouldnt only focus on their own forum https://forum.windice.io/ but also they should
at least try their best to answer queries from this thread.

Wohoo, and Congrats! I'm sure this is a major accomplishment for both the project and its team and hopefully just as much as for its players. What I can ask is what if any known at the moment are the next mile stones set for the project and where does the team envision the project will lead to?

only 24 hours left , the contest table looks like this at the moment:

can't say that the competition for the top is very heated
everything can and probably will change during the final hours , I see crazy bets flying usually  Cheesy
so far the first 3 top spots are massively +EV , even the fourth one o ahead of the curve
I'm in the top 15 but not pushing it since my bank is not big enough to go for big bets , slow and steady wins the race ( or at least gets you a top 10 spot , haha )

I am pretty sure there will be whales coming in at the last second but yoloer seems like gone for the past few rounds. He played in the first few rounds but then he probably decided that it doesn't worth it and took off, otherwise he was actually finishing at the top but then he started to get competition and that destroys all the "play bare minimum to be top and get paid" method when you have people trying to gamble more than you and get to top.

It is of course very difficult to calculate the real average house edge when you calculate the reward as well.

Not everyone gets the same reward and not everyone gambles the same level on each contest but there is really one truth about this contest and that is the fact that it drops the house edge and that is very cool.

this contest was pretty anticlimatic - no real fight for the top spot and Rodolman took it easily with just 3.9 btc wagered
can't see his stats , but pretty sure this was a profitable run , unless he played very risky
but this guy is not new Smiley saw him in the last contests top spots usually
anyways , was fun for me I managed to place high in the table with a relatively small bankroll , total around 300k satoshi
and managed a decent profit + the prize money , very happy about it  Cheesy

Yes,,, this is my experience in almost every site I am playing in. For example in yolodice, the first days get the whales too, some guys want to build a huge lead in the first day to put off the smaller whales (is there such a thing hehe).

Then, watch for the final 12 hours, you will see stealth mode whales come and wager the hell out of the whole thing!

But anyway, well done to winner, that did NOT happen at windice. Like veleten says, winner probably made a lot!

It is probably due to the weekends as the last day of the contest where most whales were spending their time out of gambling place.
Perhaps most whales where spending their time and money for other activities in real life so they did not come at windice for the contest.
Wagering almost 4btc and won 0.1 on the contest is obviously profitable if he did manage it correctly.
By the way congrats for you as you managed to win plus the winning prize on the contest.

I want to ask on the gambling platform windice.io I want to make a withdrawal using Doge hoping that the withdrawal can be faster and at a low cost.

however, what I experienced was that the Doge withdrawal is still pending two hours when it was made. Is the withdrawal experiencing interruption?
Please let me know

I think it's safe to assume that for Rodolman and for jellyroll2018 it's been a pleasant experience. I predict more high rollers to participate in the next contest because it's obviously worth it.

Congrats on your profit from the participation! Being in your place I would recover my losses at best, because in wagering contests I play with 1.0102x payout, and usually lose a bit more than 1% of the amount wagered. But, apparently, you have used another strategy and you won with it. Good job!

Games usually end very high on the last hour, not even on the last hour but on the last thirty minutes or so because the whales that try to win come in at that second. They know if they do it beforehand the people who will compete will know how much they are willing to bet and all that so they stop and if they try to start from now they will compete with each other all competition and that would make the price go up a lot, but when they start at the last second, they know that they don't have to go that high so they start very late and when they compete with each other they have limited time so it can't go too high.

Well put Sana. It's often the last few minutes that are super intense for most players as that's when the people swarm in to place their bets as it gives them an idea of how much they need to bet to win and its a great strategy because you can assess early in the game if its even worth betting or not.

I wont do that if I'm participating in wagering contest. Indeed that seems to be the lowest risk strategies but for me it is like the worst strategy since once you hit lose bet several times then you'll need thousands winning bets in order to recover the losses from the losing bets. In fact it is almost impossible to have thousands winning bets without other losing bet(s). My suggestion, use at least 1.1x payout but indeed you need to have a higher bankroll for better result. Combining strategies is also good imho, so you are not wagering for the contest only but you are also aiming for profit while betting.
